Why Won’t Lorelai Take Free Coffee?
In ‘We Got Us a Pippi Virgin‘, Luke tries to offer Lorelai free coffee at the diner, now that they are dating. Lorelai feels uncomfortable with that. Lorelai says, “Luke, this is your business. I’ve always paid, and I always should pay.” They settle on no tips, saying it would be “weird.” (I don’t usually tip for just coffee, do you? At least not every time!)

Do you think Lorelai should have accepted the free coffee? At least sometimes? I know I do! I have a cafe I visit regularly (I’m a coffee-aholic) and they often offer me a free coffee or sweet treat just to say thanks. I’m not above accepting it.

“The Good Wife” 1.13 ‘Bad’ Discussion

The Good Wife 1.13 ‘Bad’
Air Date: February 2, 2010
Discussion
All I want to know this week: did he do it?!? This week on The Good Wife, we focused more on the case than the characters. At least that’s how it felt to me. Perhaps I was simply more interested in the case. A high profile murder. Did the husband do it or not? Such a creep, but a murderer? I just don’t know!
Other thoughts:
- Was Alicia pleased to know her husband, though a cheater, was not lying about everything?
- Were you glad Alicia shared her feelings with her husband, finally? Are her rules enough?
- Would you buy a gun? Do you think we will see that plot continue?
- We need more Cary!!!

Liza Weil To Guest Star On “Anyone But Me”
February 3, 2010 by Maria Diaz
In December, I posted a promo video Liza Weil (Paris on Gilmore Girls) did for the popular web series, Anyone But Me. I’m happy to report that Liza will be guest-starring on the show in a multi-episode arc starting this month! Liza will play the role of a pregnant psychiatrist named Dr. Glass.
In an article posted on Newteevee.com, I learned that Liza has a personal connection with show creator and producer Susan Miller. They met in a theater workshop in 2006, where Liza met her husband, Paul Adelstein. Susan even performed Liza and Paul’s wedding ceremony! Liza told Neweevee that it was “a lot of fun and truly an honor” to film her guest role.

In ‘Tippecanoe and Taylor, Too‘, Hep Alien are asked to play at the Town Selectman election. So, in the spirit of Hep Alien, I ask: Who is your favorite Hep Alien member, from any time period? And why? Is it related to their role in the band or their character, or both?
To refresh your memory, members include: Dave, Brian, Zack, Lane and Gil.

Where are the members of Hep Alien now? Check out this post.

“The Good Wife” 1.13 ‘Bad’ Preview Video

The Good Wife, 1.13 Bad’
Air Date: February 2, 2010
Preview Video
After what’s felt like an eternity, The Good Wife finally comes back to CBS with a new episode tonight. In the meantime, I’m sad to report that Matt Czuchry (Logan on Gilmore Girls) did not win a SAG award along with the rest of the cast, but lead Julianna Marguiles did score one for her portrayal of Alicia. Does that make sense?
Anyway, on with the show! On tonight’s episode, Alicia has to defend a wealthy client who she has doubts about and Pete’s appeal trial starts. As you can see from the preview, this episode is quite intense!
Logan’s “Master and Commander” Reference
February 1, 2010 by Arieanna
In ‘Written in the Stars‘, Logan tells Rory to call him “Master and Commander.” He says it in a very arrogant way as he walks off. Rory sees the movie reference, and gives him an “Ugh”, but many of you may not know about the movie or what perhaps Logan means by this. So let’s check it out!

Master and Commander is both a book book series and a movie based on those books. The film takes place during the Napoleonic Wars on a British man-of-war ship that is ordered to pursue a French ship. There is a fairly lengthy plot description on Wikipedia. Have a read there then come back and discuss… why does Logan make this reference? What does he mean when he wants Rory to call him “Master and Commander”?

Why Does Rory Shun Lorelai?
January 30, 2010 by Arieanna
In ‘A Messenger, Nothing More‘, we find out that Rory has shunned Lorelai for a great portion of the summer. While she’s off in Europe, she sends many postcards to Luke… but nothing to Lorelai. No phone call, no postcards.

When Rory returns from Europe, she does apologize to Lorelai. However, if she became “sorry” at some point in Europe, don’t you think she would have called? Or let her mom know, even via postcard, that she was ok? I think she would have called the second she realized she was being silly. That seems more “Rory” to me. Don’t you think?

April Nardini Mentioned As A “TV Kid Misstep” On EW.Com
January 29, 2010 by Maria Diaz
You know sometimes when a T.V. show is struggling, they introduce a kid or baby into the mix to add a new story line? Most of the time it’s contrived and silly and the viewers don’t buy it.
EW.com posted a list of this week of the “Top 10 TV Kid Missteps“and included our very own April Nardini, Luke’s long-lost daughter, played by Vanessa Marano. The character of April made little sense considering what we already knew about Luke and created yet another rift between Luke and Lorelai, leading to their breakup.
What did you think of the addition of April to the show? Did you think it was a silly stunt to create more conflict between Luke and Lorelai? Or, did you like April?
Here’s a video of Luke and April, to refresh your memory:
Another Clip Of Alexis Bledel’s Film, “The Good Guy”
January 28, 2010 by Maria Diaz
MTV has posted a new clip from Alexis Bledel’s (Rory on Gilmore Girls) soon to be released film, The Good Guy. I posted the trailer several weeks ago, and the buzz on the film has been growing ever since, which is excellent news. After the flop that was Post-Grad, Alexis needs a hit!
In the movie, Alexis plays “Beth,” a young woman torn between slick Wall Street guy Tommy and nice guy Tommy. In the following scene, Tommy comes over to meet Beth at her apartment before a date, where several of her girlfriends are hanging out. Since Tommy is on time to meet her, her friends joke that he’s gay!
The Good Guy comes to select cities on February 19.
Amy Sherman Palladino and Dan Palladino’s Pilot Gets Picked Up By The CW
January 28, 2010 by Maria Diaz
Well, it isn’t Gilmore Girls Season 8 or a Gilmore Girls movie, but Michael Aussiello reports that Amy and Dan Palladino, the creators of Gilmore Girls, have just gotten a pilot picked up by The CW! If you’re not old enough to remember, CW used to be The WB, the network Gilmore Girls lived on for their 7 seasons.
The project has working title of Untitled Wyoming Project, and is a “family soap set on a horse farm in a small town in the Midwest or Rockies.” It could potentially be on the fall 2010 T.V. schedule. Another small town? Do I smell a bit of throwback to our beloved Stars Hollow?
Don’t forget, this isn’t the only thing Amy has on her plate at the moment; back in October, HBO picked up a series from her about a “mother-daughter relationship.”
What do you think of this new development? Are you excited for Amy’s particular brand of humor to come back to the small screen?
