Gilmore Girls blogging: January 17 2006
Live blogging tonight’s episode, Just like Gwen and Gavin:
Ok, so I missed the first 15 minutes, dammit. Missed Luke and April meeting up.
Anywho, I’m back and the Winter Carnival is under way. Paul Anka as fortune teller. So cute.
Shift to Paris at the Yale Daily. Being her anal self in a major power suit. And THANK YOU RORY for changing your hair. The ultra straight was so not her, this curly softness is much better.
Logan giving her a coffee cart? Interesting. So, now she has a cart following her around. hehe. I could have used that at my Uni.
And shift to April and her mom, Anna. Luke calls. Tries to stop April from coming to the diner. What’s with Anna making a parent speech? She kinda doesn’t have that right.
And… Rory at a pub meeting up with the Yale Daily fellows. "Kaiser Geller and her Reign of Terror". Huh. So, apparently Paris is a good writer gone bad. And everyone is giving Rory the third degree for being Paris’ friend and being biased. Anywho, she uses her fabulous charm to convince them to try to find a solution that did not involve booting Paris. Then offers her coffee cart to the table.
And zoom to Taylor in disguise back in town early and spying on the Winter Festival and how Kirk, who is planning it, is going. And oh they have snow! I want snow!
And why is Kirk putting up a second tarot booth? Because he’s Kirk and never does anything normally. He doesn’t want anyone "bamboozled by a dog".
Luke calling Lorelai. Wanting to have "the talk" all squirmy and stuff, while Lorelai says she is busy and cannot make it to the diner. Which, of course, in tv land means she will go to the diner.
Mrs. Kim making a date for Lane? That spells disaster, especially when Zach sees it…
April rides up with a funky pink helmet with mirrors and gadgets on it. Interesting. And Luke is all freaking out because he’s paranoid Lorelai will see April. He offers to let April "color" - lol! April offers to help out in the diner, which is a positive thing. She seems like a productive gal. Still, I’m not completely warm to her, but granted I appreciate her growing humour and how it does fit into Gilmore Girls. Sigh.
Oooh, a cupping. Of coffee, oh no. Syrup. Yep, syrup. I sure don’t want the "cigar and marshmallow" one. Ew. Leave it to Sookie to liven that sucker up.
Logan visits Lorelai. That’s so wrong. BTW, is it me or does the inn look a little redecorated? Anyway, back to Logan. Lorelai reaming him out for getting arrested, having a record, dropping out from school and having a feud. Go girl! Logan misses Rory, though. Who wouldn’t? And Logan is going the extra distance, I’ll give him that. If he’s going that far, I am quite sure he does love Rory. Sigh. I have a love/hate Logan thing. He’s cute but he’s bad. Maybe now he is good? Lorelai is sure thinking maybe.
And there we go. The April & Lorelai meetup. And the oh crap moment by Luke. April keeps babbling unknowingly, but here comes confrontation. Oooh, so exciting! Lorelai is pissed. Appropriately wearing black, I might add. "You have a… right… what is the, 12…" Etc. "two months, that’s a hell of a long time to go without telling me" Totally. Yep. Luke acts the confused guy who wants to forget being a dad but being freaked and putting it off.
Lorelai needs to digest. Hmm. I do know she’ll be ok. She’s a great gal and a great mom. And Luke is sorry, but he’s not great for lying.
OMG, do you see the back of Lorelai’s jacket? It’s like a corset. Like corset piercing but without the ouch.
Back to Yale. Yeah, Paris has numbered people with hats. How very army. Oooh, Rory is going to ream on Paris for being "toxic" - for not delegating, for stressing, for rewriting, etc. But, Paris looks angry, so that’s not a good thing. Are there really more than 73 people on the paper? And Paris, instead of cutting back, has a lovely little tirade. Awww, well at least Rory looks absolutely adorable in her #2 baseball cap.
And… we’re back. Logan brings donuts to Rory. Not Krispy Kreme, btw. And he brings a note from Lorelai?!? I guess she had a change of heart? We’ll soon see. Although, if my fiance gave me that many flowers, oh my! And the result, she says ok to dinner. So, what was in the letter??? She laughed at it. So, hmm…
Rory home. Ranting about how good the letter was. She’s so getting back with Logan (my assumption based on her gossip), then they move on to April. And her freaking about how it affects their relationship, and the trust. Rory puts some perspective on Luke being "Mr. Responsibility" who is likely freaking out more than Lorelai is. She loves Luke. Well, they both do. So, Lorelai will forgive him.
Gwen & Gavin - a couple in a similar situation to Lorelai and Luke. Who made it after the hidden child was announced.
hehe, Taylor pretending to be German. Of course, everyone knows it’s Taylor. And Paul Anka as the "Doggy Swami" - so cute, in a turban.
Lane, how we missed her. Nice prize "Hell is waiting for you sinner". Great! Now, Zach and the new Mrs. Kim-approved date are going at it in a carnival game. Then Zach confronts Mrs. Kim. Impressive courage there. Who, the ‘date’ is an Uncle! hehe. So funny. Aw, I love Mrs. Kim. She just said she would "not get in Zach’s way" - so, I may not like Zach, but he can totally make Lane happy if that is what she wants. Good mom!
And we end with Lorelai forgiving Luke. He keeps making excuses even after she forgives him. And now Luke is feeling panic about the wedding!! Being a dad and a husband in one year, perhaps too much for him? Lorelai is ok to postpone, but he doesn’t seem ok. So, the wedding is off… until when?
[[Ominious sign - no ‘lalas’ - that means something bad is on its way]]
Dumb Luke. Sad Lorelai. Why push away the one person supporting you totally and whole heartedly Luke? Why succumb to panic and fear? Dammit!

hhmm… i really want to know what was in the letter. i don’t think i like logan he really doesn’t seem like rory’s type. i liked marty. i thought he seemed more of the type of guy rory would date. i think jess said it best when he asked rory.”what is with the jerk with the proche?!” or it was something like that….by the way i love this website. i am totally gilmore obsessed—-and this is a great website for that.
