Recap: You’ve been Gilmored

by Arieanna on February 12th, 2006

Recap of You’ve been Gilmored, a bit tardy:

So the whole "cancelled-un-cancelled wedding" - going to throw in an interesting wrench, hey?

To be Gilmored - v. - to feel angry yet paralyzingly weak. Often results in tightness of the chest.

And thus it starts. With the Yale discussion and the lovely manipulation by Gilmore’s Senior to Junior. Ah, how they hate not paying for Yale. And Richard really really wants to yell….

and, let’s move the tables to the wedding. And Emily forcing out the wedding date - which, of course, is not necessarily so fixed. June 3rd is when stuff is booked for, but Luke does not know that. What’s more, Emily wants to pick up some "save the date" cards. Um, ok. I’m getting married soon. That’s just way too anal even for me.

Hey, did y’all notice that Matt is in the opening credits now? Huh. ;)

Why is Lorelai so disturbed that Christopher hasn’t called? Maybe now that he’s chippin’ in she feels he’s responsible. So, Lorelai suggests Rory invite him to Yale.

Yale Daily News. Paris is out. And Rory breaks the news. Side note, Rory’s sweater is absolutely to die for. The cut is great. Paris "exits" by giving a speech as if she were stepping down (not being fired). And everyone cheers.

Michel gets really annoyed that Luke is being handyman-of-the-week. Why? Did he have a crush on the last one (Parker)? Really, not clear. But he’s being nice and anal about it.

Choosing a new editor for the Yale Daily. And Rory is voted in because everyone loves her. Well, except Paris. Who kicks Rory out - tossing all her stuff in the hall. Paris pulls a crazy moment accusing Rory of actually getting her fired.

Michel yells at Luke for dressing bad, wearing a hat, eating inside, talking to a guest, etc. He’s being really evil about it. Since "Parker" - the ‘other’ handyman - is a "wonderful, wonderful man."

Rory calls Logan to say she can’t find anywhere to live. No apartments at all. So, Logan asks her to move in. Ok, after being back together for like 1 day? Interesting. Well, I guess it was more than 1 day since she already has some clothes there (according to him), but it is a big step. One that should not be made without a talk about said relationship. Anyway.

Lorelai confronts Michel. And the source of the tiff is revealed. Michel doesn’t care so much if it’s Parker doing the work (who is 65, btw) or not, so long as he and Lorelai spend time together. Apparently, they used to have coffee and pie together once a month so that they could draw up the list of stuff to do. And Lorelai didn’t feel Luke needed a list, so there was no meeting. Hence the tiff. To make it up, they go to make a list :)

Rory’s tour with Christopher. Of course, he wants to see where she lives. So do I, actually. After all, Logan is LOADED. So, nice hall. Doorman. Fancy. Rory gets as far as the door before explaining the Logan bit.

Logan gets a bit startled but recovers nicely. And MAN, that’s a nice place. Better than I’ll have. Ever. The appliances make me drool. The fireplace. The pool table. The suit of armour. Flat screen tv. Designer everything. Designer accessories all over the place (no guy does that, btw) And clean, too. Is it me, or didn’t he live on campus last year? Nothing too fancy then.

Rory asks Christopher not to tell Lorelai. Of course, he will.

Luke and Lorelai go to the Gilmore’s. After Luke complains about the 5 page fix-it list. hehe. So, the talk of the night… insurance. Updating it, specifically. That Luke needs more and so does Lorelai (both home and work) as being business & home owners they are a target, and that makes the other Gilmores a target (i.e. Richard & Emily), Risks. Plus, then there was the whole "is your guy" a reliable insurance person? Was a crazy paranoia session. Richard accuses April’s mom of being a risk - may want money. Plus, they even question the paternity. Oy!

And… Luke has been "Gimored". His head has been messed up.

And Christopher drops the bomb. Lorelai has a minor flip. Not really in the angry sort of way, but in the "she’s all grown up" kind of way. Rory calls to fess anyway, so that is ok. Lorelai is concerned, but supportive.

Did you realize that Lorelai has never lived with a guy? I mean, I knew it, but I didn’t realize it. Wow!
