Logan will return… when?

by Arieanna on August 14th, 2006

Our spoilers have long confirmed that Logan (played by Matt Czuchry) will return to Gilmore Girls this season. Indeed, he will appear in 15 out of the 22 episodes slotted for the season. Here is a little bit more from Terry Morrow:

At the end of last season, Logan took a job in England, resulting in a tearful split between him and Rory.

Not all comes together quickly for the estranged couple: Czuchry will only appear in brief scenes for the first two episodes.

"I’m just seen talking on the phone," he says.

But Czuchry suspects that Logan, whom he has played for three seasons, will be seen much more after that.

I am not a big fan Logan either. But she does love him, which I find odd, and he will probably do something to screw it up again. I really think that Rory needs a new man though.

In the beginning, Logan was okay, and then he was an ass. Especially since he did not try to get Rory back into Yale. Plus, he cheated on her, and that just is not cool in my book. But, lately he has been okay, but I do not see what Rory sees in him. It is really weird. I know that there was this one girl, I think that her name was Louisse, or something, but she said that she would stay with him because he is rich. That is just weird, and kinda mean if you think about it. I just would LOVE to know why she loves him, and what Rory sees in him. It is really strange to me. Well, I do agree that Logan will most likely do something to screw it up again. He is just like that, that is kind of what he does. I also do think that Rory needs a new man. That would be nice if Marty came back though. But, does anyone know the actors name of Marty, I can not think of it now that he has left. But, that is it!
    Bye!

moohaha that means MARTY is comming back!

    *happy Dance*

I love Marty, but I dont think he and Rory should be togther, just friends man.

Yeah… I was pissed off at Logan before the finale, then I became a Logan Lover.

How can you not love Logan? He and Rory are so cute together. Should i remind you all to watch season five again!!! He is more exciting and adventourous (sp?) than any of the guys Rory has loved since the beginning of the show! Plus, he wasn’t the one who made her take a “break” from school, although, he wasn’t the one who convinced her to come back to school either! I get that! But he has made her more daring and adventurous since they started dating and i think that the Logan character rocks!!! Although, this whole long distance relationship might be a problem!!!

If you call stealing a boat more fun and adventurous, sure… the only thing we ever see Rory and Logan doing outside of hanging in someone’s bedroom is going out to dinner or drinking at a party. Thats not a fun and adventurous lifesytle, its just college… its kinda boring to watch IMO. I can’t stand Logan. And the Life and Death Brigade stuff like idiotically jumping off of a cliff just isn’t attractive to me in any way.

I agree with you sydnie! I love Logan. He is so right for Rory. He has brought out a side of her that I really like. I know he didn’t try to stop her from taking a break from school but if he had, would she still be with a man telling her what to do? And if she was with someone who was telling her what to do, would anybody really like him then? I think he is awesome because he has let her grow up and make her own choices. If she fell on her face he would be there to help but he is not going to stand in her way. That is a good man!

  • Rayc
    Aug 16, 2006 at 7:44 am

You know, Logan was most likely afraid to tell her to go back to school, because if Rory cut her own mother out of her life just for disagreeing with her imagine what she would have done to him. It also really wasn’t his place to tell her what to do. In fact, I found Jess to be a little too bold when he told Rory her life was messed up and he realized it after he told her and he backed off. Even though Rory really needed that wake up call.

….. dont really know what to say… i think that i proved my point

I totally agree that Wayne Wilcox, also known as Marty the naked guy, would be awesome with Rory. He’s pretty grounded and that’s what she needs, not some flighty spoiled rich boy. We already know how Marty feels about Rory.

  • Rayc
    Aug 17, 2006 at 3:29 pm

NO ROSEMAIRE! BAD! I did not say I wanted Marty and Rory together I said I wanted them to be friends and for him to come back. NO DATING FOR MARTY AND RORY! NO! BAD! Bad idea Rory treats him like crap it would be Dean the sequel…. With better hair.

  • Rosemarie
    Aug 18, 2006 at 3:50 am

I don’t agree. I want them to be together and I think the writer will play around with that since Logan is not around and neither are his friends. Give Marty a chance, he’s just a regular guy like Luke. Rory definitely needs to learn how to work for what she wants, she is so spoiled and conceited. Marty would be a good example for her. Maybe he’ll grow some back bone and put her in her place.

  • Caitlin
    Aug 18, 2006 at 10:07 am

Hmmm, I am not opposed to a Rory/Marty pairing, as long as they are friends first and let the relationship evolve. I agree, Rory was written as a spoiled, conceited brat last year (not the old Rory I knew and loved). I think she needs to be with someone more down to earth than Logan, with a more realistic expectation of life. Someone who is 21 and doesn’t live in a penthouse, drive a porsche, and drop 10000 on a purse just because.

I really noted the change in “But I’m a Gilmore,” where Rory utters that phrase as if to say she is from just as hoity toity a family as Logan. She never used to care about money and family names, she used to care about learning and about who a person is. I think its telling also that Logan hasn’t spent time with Rory in Stars Hollow (other than the 5 minutes to beg Lorelai for help in Just like Gwen and Gavin). He didn’t go to the christening, Lane’s Wedding, or any other weekend home. Has he even met Lane? Usually boyfriends know your best friends… it seems weird to me that Logan hasn’t spent time in Stars Hollow, a place where the whole town helped raise Rory.

  • Rosemarie
    Aug 18, 2006 at 11:12 am

Do you remember how Richard liked Marty in the Ted Koppel’s Big Night Out episode? We’ll see. This season’s going to be great. I hope that Christopher and Lorelai don’t get together. It would be a shame. I love Luke and how you can really see his soft side when he’s around Lorelai.

  • Elizabeth
    Aug 20, 2006 at 5:32 pm

Caitlin, i think logan did meet lane at rory’s 21st b-day party. although that was for about five seconds. i agree that he hasn’t spent time in Stars Hallow that is just strange! i don’t like logan because he will screw things up for rory and him like… sleep w/ a british girl. i like logan in season five, but then didn’t realy like him after he slept w/ most of his sisters friends. i mostly agree w/ caitlin. she really thought about this!

  • stlouislovesgilmoregirls

Hello, people. They were BROKEN UP when the brides maids thing happened. Rory was mature enough to rationalize that one. She’s a smart girl.

Logan is a great match for Rory because they’re intellectually compatible, which is a huge part of Rory’s character. Besides, nothing wrong with ending up with a smart, good-looking, rich guy who is not disillusioned about his family’s fortune.

    Rory and Logan lovers, unite!

  • Rosemarie
    Aug 21, 2006 at 7:38 am

I don’t agree stlouis. Rory’s relationship with Logan is pulling her farther and farther away from the values that Lorelai brought her up with. If you’ve noticed, Rory has become more insecure, undecided and distant since she got together with Logan. Yes, it is cool to hear the intelligent dialogue that comes from Rory and Logan but you don’t want Rory to become less of an independant thinker because she needs him around to make her sound smart. Logan is ok but I want Rory to be with someone who will help her maintain her down to earth upbringing.

  • Rayc
    Aug 21, 2006 at 8:51 am

Rosemarie, I agree with you that he is taking her away from her original upbringing, but maybe the seperation will bring her back to Earth. ANd if the someone who will help her maintain her down to earth unbringing is Jess I will scream and knock my head off. but if it is Marty I am saying no again, because Rory and done the nice guy thing and it ended badly. (Dean) Rory needs a guy who can stand up to her, cause Rory tends to push guys around.

  • Caitlin
    Aug 21, 2006 at 9:20 am

StLouislovesgilmoregirls, the problem with the Bridesmaids thing is that Rory didn’t know they were broken up at the time, Logan had his sister tell Rory they were broken up, and the old Rory wouldn’t have rationalized it… she would have been furiously angry. Back in the day, do you remember how angry she was with Jess for seeing another girl, even though she was back with Dean? They were very much not together and Rory was still angry about the other woman.

There is nothing wrong with being with someone rich, but Rory has become spoiled, acts like she is entitled to the wealth and family name, and revels in Logan’s flamboyant expressions of wealth. Normal 21 year olds aren’t used to receiving diamond tennis bracelets for Valentine’s Day.

I’ve always thought one of the most appealing things about the Gilmore Girls was that Lorelai and Rory were small town girls, who worked hard for what they had, had fun getting it, and struggled a bit to make it all work out. Lorelai took her daughter away from the rich kid life not to punish her, but to raise her with better values and in more nourishing environment. It sucks that Rory has run straight back to the life Lorelai wanted to leave behind, with its pretensions and socialite airs.

    Aug 21, 2006 at 10:17 am

Okay Caitlin. I actually agree with what you said about rory becoming some spoiled kid with logan! But i still think that he is right for her! He is becoming better i think! And when he comes back from England, i hope things get even better with the two of them!!!!

  • Caitlin
    Aug 21, 2006 at 10:23 am

I think there is potential for Logan to grow up and strengthen their relationship by becoming more of a man and experiencing a taste of the real world.

I am not impressed with his performance to date, thats all.

Rory could use the time to re-evaluate herself and who she has become… am thinking that the two new artsy gal pals could be very good for her (as spoilered by DR and Ausiello). I hope she realizes that Logan is not “the one” and she could use someone who is more like her, but if Logan actually grows as a person they could definitely have something worthwhile.

  • Rosemarie
    Aug 22, 2006 at 4:10 am

I agree that Logan can grow up but a year is a long time for he and Rory to be apart. I hope that Rory is not just going to sit around, I know Logan won’t. I do hope that even if she isn’t paired with Marty she grows more independent and confident.

  • Caitlin
    Aug 22, 2006 at 10:50 am

word. Independent and confident are EXACTLY what I would like to see from Rory

  • BD
    Aug 23, 2006 at 5:31 pm

I am amazed backlash against Logan for sleeping with other girls and nothing for Loralai sleeping with Chris. If you truly look at the show you will see that Rory and Loralai’s lives often parallel each other. It would be wrong for Rory to break up with Logan for the long term and expect Luke to stay with Loralai.

Having said that, it doesn’t mean that Rory has to have a relationship with someone who is exactly like Luke. The situation that is set up for Rory and Logan is the opportunity for them to grow together (something we definitely saw in the last finale) and that is truly what relationships are all about.

  • rayc
    Aug 24, 2006 at 5:55 am

hmmm BD this post is about Logan coming back if you look at the other posts you will see that there has been NUMBEROUS fights over the chris and Lorelai thing.

  • Rosemarie
    Aug 24, 2006 at 6:08 am

Ok now we’re getting down to the nitty gritty. I think that this whole Christopher/Lorelai thing is getting stupid. When Christopher decided he wanted to be more “there” for Rory, Rory should have raised her antennas and told him to make sure that he leaves Lorelai alone as she has done before. Now, the first time Rory told him to keep away from Lorelai, she told him that everytime he comes around he messes things up. Well guess what that is exactly what he is doing now. If Christopher was any kind of friend he would stop taking advantage of Lorelai when she is most vulnerable. His character grabs every opportunity to turn something to his advantage. I think Lorelai is the forbidden fruit and he can’t help it but to want something he can’t have, but Lorelai needs to be stronger around him. I know that Rory is going to flip on him once she finds out. She just doesn’t want her Mom to keep getting hurt.

  • Caitlin
    Aug 24, 2006 at 9:50 am

That would be a great scene if we see Rory tearing Chris a new one… it seemed like she was happy for Lorelai and Luke once she stopped being mad at Lorelai in the first half of season 6. Luke has certainly been the best guy Lorelai has been with and she was very happy with him at first (in season 5). While Lorelai is certainly still accountable, Chris should have known better than to take advantage of her emotional state. Even if Lorelai came on to him, he should have realized that she was too upset to be rational, and he knew she was engaged to Luke. Its pretty douchy to hook up with someone else’s fiance knowingly (my guy friends would say it breaks the man code), especially after they had a fight. Hooking up with someone the night they break off a two year relationship is just not in good taste.

  • Elizabeth
    Aug 24, 2006 at 1:35 pm

wait i forgot lorelia and luke broke-up or just have a big fight? i thought they just had a big fight. can someone tell me?

  • rayc
    Aug 24, 2006 at 3:48 pm

They didn’t breakup they just had a fight and Lorelai left and went to Christopher. But all spoilers point to them breaking up, when Luke finds out. Because in the first episode it is said that Lorelai and Luke have a tearful fight.

Yeah Rosemarie I know exactly why Rory didn’t tell christopher to bug off, when he wanted to be in her life again. She was too occupied with herself, and getting her grandparents out of her life (which failed). She was being too self centered to think about Lorelai, because whenever Chris is in Rorys life, he is in Lorelai’s too.

Saw a spoiler on TWOP that Logan will be seen in his London office in episode 5, with some of his staff who will be appearing semi-regularly. Apparently one of them is a hot twenty-something woman… temptation for Logan I presume. Source was listed from a woman whose fiance works with the GG script writing staffers.

  • Sara
    Aug 30, 2006 at 9:15 am

Rory has forgive Logan everytime he did something stupid! She doesn’t do that because he is rich, she hurt that much, that she wouldn’t be with him because he’s rich, that’s crap! it’s because she loves him, and if you saw Logan at the latest episode of season 6, then you saw that he doesn’t hurt her anymore! he hated to leave then!

  • Caitlin
    Aug 30, 2006 at 10:31 am

The problem with that argument, Sara, is that “he doesn’t hurt her anymore” really means he hasn’t hurt her since “I’m Ok, You’re Ok”… not a great track record. And Rory wasn’t the only reason he didn’t want to leave. You may recall that he is taking this job in London as part of his father’s demands that Logan learn the family business. Logan despises his father but doesn’t have the spine to say no because he seems to enjoy Huntzberger fame and fortune.

  • Rosemarie
    Aug 30, 2006 at 10:47 am

Right on Caitlin. Logan likes his position. He likes the idea of having old money behind him. I would have liked Logan more if he would have confronted his father about his own future. His father will always be there as long as Logan lets him dictate his life. Rory on the other hand should have told Logan to decide for himself. Instead she says “Oh, London” and wimps out.

I AGREE LOGAN AND RORY ARE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER THEY UNDERSTAND EACHOTHER AND THEY BELONG TOGETHER. I NO LOGAN IS RICH BUT RORY COULD CARE LESS SHE LOVES LOGAN NO MATTER WHAT AND HE LOVES HER NO MATTER WHAT AND THATS ALL THAT MATTERS…THAY LOVE EACHOTHER AND THEY SHOULD END UP TOGETHER OR THE SHOW WILL SUCK. IF LOGAN PROPOSES AND RORY SAYS NO I WILL HATE THE SHOW THEY BELONG TOGETHER AND EVERYONE KNOWS THAT. IF RORY SAYS NO ILL NEVER BUY THE 7TH SEASON AND I WONT WATCH ANYMORE OF THE SHOW ILL ONLY WATCH THE FIRST 6 SEASON CAUSE THEY R GOOD AND DONT END GAY LIKE RORY SAYING NO TO LOGAN WHEN HE PROPOSES.
