Lorelai and Christopher… Disappointed after seeing Snakes on a Plane. She hates snakes. She expected more of the movie. ha!
Ok, this is their 5th bad movie in a row? So, this is the episode with the time jump (6 weeks), and we jump not to the start of their dating, but mid-dating. When they’re more into it. All kissy kissy lovey dovey. Kinda creepy.
Christopher lets Lorelai keep all the candy before giving her a kiss. Ok, she is so not opening her mouth in this scene, but Chris is. He acts the kiss better, I do have to say. But OMG, I am so far really not liking this. Or am I? Do I like Chris or hate him? I don’t know anymore!
Rory seems ok with the dating thing. I guess, I know she loves her dad, but she also really liked how healthy Luke was for Lorelai. At least for a time. And I guess now Chris is better for her?
Lorelai says it’s going good with their relationship. Rory says she’s glad things are good, but wants Lorelai to be careful. Not to get hurt again. Does that to refer to the many Christopher pasts or to the Luke recency?
Rory was packing for Yale and taking a whole bunch of Lorelai’s clothes. lol. So cute.
Luke’s, where Kirk is moaning about LuLu and his mom. Still don’t like Luke’s new hat. It’s so low on the forehead. Too much blatant advertising. Ok, he is upset about cobbler? lol Is it me, or is this conversation very similar to that one Lorelai had with herself about the Poptarts?
Anna brings over April’s schedule because April is to stay with him for a bit while Anna’s mom is getting surgery in Mexico. He seems like a more confident dad.
Sookie’s kitchen, so vibrant and fall-looking. Yum, look at all those yummy pumpkins! Sookie invites Lorelai over, but Lorelai says maybe, only if she’s not busy with Christopher. Sookie says you can’t "just date" the father of your child, that she and Luke have not been broken up too long, that maybe it’s just a rebound but Christopher is not a safe rebound guy. Chris then calls to take her out. Sookie makes her distaste known.
Rory, back at Logan’s apartment at Yale. Takes out the rocket and places it on the table. It must be lonely there. Indeed, so she tries to call. But gets voicemail.
Richard then calls Rory. Yowza, is that their closet? I’m jealous. Anyway, Richard then shares his "news" - he’s to fill a course at Yale - a visiting lecturer. He asks if Rory is ok with it, if it would cramp her style. Of course not, she’s excited. She wants to meet up with him when he’s there. Emily is being funny in the background.
Luke is reading the package of info from April’s school. All the banned stuff. Freaking out a tad - so dangerous these days! lol
I think Miss Patty lost weight. What do you think?
Anna drops of April. She’s so much taller this season! And more pale… and a bit more developed, yes?
April basically gets Jess’ old area in Luke’s place. April complains that there is not enough light for her avocado pit and that the place is a little drab. Perhaps it is kinda sports-lodge-ish. April says they should go to Target and Luke says he’s never been! Oy, the product placement again!
Yale Daily News. They have completed the first edition. Well, there’s another time shift. Rory makes a good editor. Dress cute or frumpy? Doyle has been at The Current for a month, the Daily is odd without him. Paris tells Rory to go date. Um, no! And yikes, the perspective on that makes Rory look like a giant!
Christopher picks up Lorelai, who then complains about how complicated it is to dress when you don’t know where you’re going. lol, that requires video later.
Christopher has parked a red convertible outside, and in the back, a cooler. Picnic? We’ll see later.
Luke raving about all their good deals at Target. April chatting about her switch from Olive to Cerulean. And hinting about Luke dating… hinting about a "she" - does April not know about the breakup.
Now it’s late night and Christopher is still driving. In the country. And they pull up to a barn wall. Chris honks. And tells Lorelai to stop talking, which of course she cannot do. And, with old time musical flare, a movie starts. Funny Face.
"I thought it was time we saw a movie we wouldn’t complain about" - Christopher
Richard at Yale, talking on his cell to Emily. Talking about how overdressed he was. Cute bow tie. What is he teaching, btw? Anyway, Emily is being hailed by a police car (after putting down the cell phone). He tells her it’s illegal to drive while on the cell phone. Emily is being snarky. The police officer accuses Emily of drinking, and she accuses him of harassment. Emily refuses the breathalyzer because she doesn’t know where it’s been.
Rory at an art show. Weird stuff. She doesn’t get it. She goes to take a drink of water from a cooler, and apparently the cooler was also an art piece. Ok, not. The two girls were messing with Rory. I like the taller one, she’s gorgeous looking. The shorter one, Olivia, is the artist of the horse, the only piece Rory likes.
The two girls admit they were obsessed with Paris. Um, Paris? They then take Rory around the show.
Christopher and Lorelai. Watching the end of the movie. The wedding. ‘S Wonderful, ‘S Marvelous - a song in the movie. Lorelai says it was "swonderful", very romantic. Chris offers to take Lorelai back to his place, but she doesn’t know if she should. She’s not sure if she trusts him, or herself, with the relationship yet. She’s scared - Christ admits to being scared too. He says he can wait. Yeah, till he’s 80. He admitted that before. ;) btw, just found the song:
‘S Wonderful!/’S Awful Nice/’S Marvelous
Lorelai gets a call on her cell. Asking if "she is ok", freaking Chris out. But it’s way more funny, and the best night ever for Lorelai. Emily is in jail.
Luke saying goodnight to April, who is reading for pleasure. Ok, so April knows about Lorelai because she’s hinting about her teacher, who is cute and likes fishing. And tries to come up with a scenario to get them together. Apparently Anna told April about Lorelai. Luke explains it to April and says he’ll always be there for her.
Lorelai picks up Emily, who is quite pissy at being there. And threatens to sue the police officers. Lorelai then takes pictures with her camera phone. Lor and Chris drive Emily home - um, why is her hair not blowing in an open convertible? - while Emily complains about being "manhandled."
Lorelai asks why Emily called her. She had decided not to interrupt Richard’s dinner with the Dean. Ok, so then Emily notices the car? Asks if they are on a date - oh, she didn’t know!!
Rory and the art students return to Logan’s apartment - they are more than impressed with the digs. Make themselves at home. Turn on some music. And offer to pop some rice. Logan then calls, gets a bit jealous, but not really. Rory wants to call Logan back - that’s a first. She’s not being all puppy dog, for a change.
Chris feels bad that his barn date was overshadowed by Emily in jail. Lorelai says no, she will always remember it as the movie she saw when she bailed her mom out of jail. And she thanks Chris for being there. That he made things fun. That it’s nice to be with someone who understands her. He gets her. And she invites him in… to the sound of ’S Wonderful, ‘S Marvelous…

Okay, this is going to be pretty negative, but this show has gone downhill, big time, this year. I was a bit worried after the first two episodes, and then Lorelai’s First Cotillion was encouraging, but this week…yikes. It was like watching a train wreck…I didn’t really want to see it, but I couldn’t take my eyes away.
The pace was slow as molasses compared to last year. Some of the writing, if you listened to it, was decent, but the delivery was just off. Lorelai was so annoying the whole evening. Maybe it’s just a result of the creepiness factor with her dating Christopher, but what was up with her barking like a dog? I was embarassed for Lauren Graham.
The saddest thing, hands down, is that Emily and Richard were not there. The zing and zaniness are gone. Emily was not funny in the background in the closet scene, and it wasn’t really Kelly Bishop’s fault. Emily and Richard would be very difficult characters to write–I certainly couldn’t do it–but neither, apparently, can the current writers. There was so much lost potential with the “Emily gets arrested” bit. There wasn’t enough dialogue, and the dialogue that happened seemed predictable, not nearly zany enough. I also don’t think I heard one Zsa-Zsa joke.
The bottom line is, the show is just gone… it probably had too much of Amy Sherman Palladino in it to survive without her. This was the one tv show I actually bothered to watch regularly (with the exception of the Colbert Report), and now? I don’t even want to see it… but might not be able to keep my eyes away…

I think Lorelai should punch Chris like Luke did. I think they should make a move of the Gilmore Girls where Lorelai and Chris have a wedding (fake wedding ). They invite Luke, but he doesn’t go and the sudddenly he show s up and tells her he love’s her. They get married or date again.

I had all but given up after last weeks fiasco - but last night’s episode felt a bit better to me. I was not a fan of Christopher & Lorelai as a couple - but last night they were cute together! Now if the writers bring Cherie back into the picture to cause more conflict - I’ll be angry & hurt for Lorelai. I hope that the new writer doesn’t make Christopher a bad-guy once again & break Lorelai & Rory’s heart. You can also see where Luke is heading. Does the new writer like things tidy or what!? AND, what is up w/Luke’s hat?? It looks silly so far down on his head. And, has anyone else noticed that the actress (Sherilyn (sp?)) who plays April’s Mom also played the role of Jess’s Dad’s Live-in girlfriend? She was a blonde then!

I agree, I think Christopher and Lorelai did look cute together. But what we all have to remember is he really has hurt her before and the constant popping in and out of both her and Rory’s life is not the most reliable. Luke on the other hand had always cared about both of them and up until recently, has never been out of their lives. He seems to get really fired up if anything happens to Rory. I also think the storyline with April is great. It is really nice to see the interaction of them together and to see them evolve into something closer. Luke may not be a rich cassanova but he is a regular guy. I think that is what she needs. Otherwise, with Chris, she may come close to turning into her mother.

Here’s what I noticed more than ANYTHING…Christopher and Logan are the same character! Did anybody else feel that?? Seriously. Logan and Christopher’s mannerisms are almost identical! I couldn’t believe how alike they were! And also…Lorelai and Rory are the same WITH them… I just don’t know why they did that…was Christopher ALWAYS like logan?? But…yeah…same character, different ages.
That’s all. Last night’s episode was alright…I think I really only laughed out loud twice…that’s too bad, but it’s alright.

yeah you could tell they were the same character when christopher and Rory went to her apartment where she was living with her boyfriend. And he and Logan talked about the schools they got kicked out of. It was obvious then. It was also obvious in the Real Paul Anka Episode that Rory and April are the same too. That what the dream was about in the first scene the real paul anka and the dog paul anka meeting face to face and then the world emploded, April and Rory met face to face in the book store and there was an akward silence. But i agree Janey, this season is defently not the same, but still good, i’ll continue to not be able to look away.
BUT IS ANY ONE ELSE FREAKED THAT CHRIS AND LORELAI ARE ELOPING IN SWEEPS!?!??!?!
that was in Ask Ausiello’s column this morning
OMG IM GONNA HURL!

The one thing I really did like about the episode is that Rory isn’t being clingy to Logan any more, gosh it took her months to find new friends. Paris by the way is being extreme this year (meaner than usual)

I think that Lorelai and Chris are good for each other and chris has ALWAYS loved lorelai and he has finally got a chance to prove that he loves her and wants to give it a chance. Luke and Lorelai were good together but sometimes when you love someone you cant help but feel something at the bottom of your heart that it wasnt meant to be. Luke and Lorlai were not meant to be they were soul mates but it didnt work. The biggest mistake that luke made was when lorelai gave him a ultimatum and he refused to marry her before he made a decison about April. Luke has loved Lorelai for 8 long years and he is going to let that go just because a 12 yr old comes into the picture? that doesnt make sence to me? oh well i think Chris is better for lorelai he GETS her and lukes doesnt.

I just can’t get behind the Lorelai and Christopher relationship–he irks me to no end. And he was definitely kissing her more passionately than she was him. Hee! I hope the spoiler of them eloping is NOT true. First they give Lane a baby and now this! It’s madness!

Ahhhh!! Last night’s episode annoyed me to no end. Lorelai wouldn’t SHUT UP and Chris is just Chris (he has to have some sort of hidden motive for this… seriously) and Luke has seemed to move on too fast and Rory’s new friends are “genius!” and overall the show is just not the same. There’s no Gilmore Girls’ flare. It’s boring, too many long conversation scenes. I was worried this would happen but episodes 2 and 3 weren’t all that bad. But now, its gone. It’s just gone. And Lorelai is stupid. She doesn’t love Chris, she is just lonely (and probably still thinks she is ready to be married, hence the elopement with Chris soon- looking forward to seeing how that turns out). At least Rory isn’t obsessing over Logan, she’s being pretty grown up about that; I can’t wait til he comes to see her next week, that will be sweet. Ok, I’m done. But I’m still disappointed with the writers’ storyline and execution.

I definatley agree with DA. I think he is up to something. He keeps going in and out of their lives and it is truly annoying. As far as him being a part of the show in general. Thats no big deal he at least has a reason to do so. Luke shouldn’t have been so judgemental about her confessing that she slept with Chris. HE kept the fact that he had a daughter hidden for 2 months! I do think that L&L belong together. I also think that Chris is a sleazebag who took advantage of Lor when she was at her lowest. Not cool at all. I think that is another reason why she is so confused. There are feelings between them but those feelings haven’t done anything for them before, they shouldn’t now either. He is an X for a reason.

I thought this week’s episode was better than last week’s, which seemed like nothing was happening…
But something is still creeping me out. I just can’t get behind the whole Lorelei/Christopher thing. Yes, there date was written romantically, and yes there goodnight kiss was hot, but I just can’t forget that there was five or so seasons of disfunction between these two people. I also can’t forget that Luke is the only man in Lorelei’s life in the last 5 1/2 seasons that has truly been there for her when she has fallen.
There was literally 4 seasons of foreplay between Lorelei and Luke before they finally started dating. That’s what made it so awesome. In this new relationship there has been exactly one episode where they consider getting back together, and now it’s getting hot n’ heavy WAY too quickly, and apparently in November sometime the two are going to elope. It’s wrong, it’s creepy, it’s rushed, and I think Rory and Sookie are the only voices of reason on the show. Sookie was a tad snarky in her scene this week, but I have to say that I was thrilled because she is the only one who is voicing the fact that Lorelei just lost the love of her life, and has run to a man who has only brought conflict, disfunction, and pain to Lorelei’s and Rory’s life.
On the G-unit front, I thought Emily was absolutely hilarious this season, that whole thing with the breathalizer thing and not knowing where it’s been was classic Emily.
As for ROry’s two new art friends, the jury’s still out. They are really coming off as those two bimbo’s that used to hang out with Logan’s group all throughout last season, except there dialogue has a little more bite to it. Being an art student myself, the line about the water fountain being a self-portrait was absolutely hilarious.
The preview for next week looked pretty good, Rory get’s her hair dyed!! Finally Yale is back in full swing and her crazy college plot lines will start for the year. Although the talk of Chris no longer wanting to wait is making me nervous. Is he proposing next episode? AGAIN, it is absolutely rushed, and creepy…we’re talking five episodes here people. The spoiler floating around that Cheri comes back in order to make ammends and get to know her daughter are interesting. Run back to her Christopher, you’re a match made in HELL!

i also agree with da. i absolutley despise christopher. i probably wouldn’t be saying that if he hasn’t broken lorelai’s heart numerous times before. the closest they ever go to having a relationship was at someone’s wedding at the independence inn. i think it was sookies but not sure. chris has been in and out of lorelai’s and rory’s lives too much. it seems that he just can’t stick. and then to top it all up, they are going to elope. but, like i said before, i agree with DA about how lorelai doesn’t really love chris and is just lonely.
besides all this, this season is completly different from when amy was there. im not going to repeat what was said before, but all of what da said was true. i think that luke and lorelai are soulmates. and for a little hope for all of the LL fans, but it isn’t the most reliable, i read somewhere online that the lorelai/christopher relationship will be over by the holiday hiatus??? of course, i dont know how this fits in with the elopement plus its off the internet where people write whatever they want (just so you know, im not lyin about this). but its still something.

Oh wow..what an episode! I disagree with most of you guys though- while I thought Lorelai’s First Cotillion was way more brilliant than this episode, I still laughed out loud on more than one occasion. Did anyone catch Lorelai put her hands up in the air (as if on a roller coaster) when she and Chris take off to pick up Emily from jail? Hilarious! And Lorelai’s barking imitation of Paul Anka?! SO funny! Lorelai still has it…even if the writing has gone slightly downhill, Laureh Graham is and always will be incredible!
Ohh but the dreaded Chirstopher/Lorelai relationship. The new spoiler makes me VERY very uneasy…BUT there are several things about the whole L/C thing that make me feel better. For one, Lorelai is CLEARLY trying to talk herself into the whole Christopher relationship. Sure there is chemistry between them but it’s not that intense, I love this guy chemistry. She keeps saying things are “good” with him, but she never says, “I’m SO happy!” And in the end scene, she goes on about how it’s so nice to be with someone she has fun with and who “gets” her- all things she thought Luke didn’t do/couldn’t be. Clearly, she is trying to substitute Chris for Luke and is having to talk herself into it in the process. Come on guys, we all know that while the episode was romantic, it is NOT a major story line. It just can’t be. And that’s the other thing that makes me feel better- if they elope in Paris, as it seems they do in the previews, that means they elope in a few weeks. Not only is that SO soon which in itself shows it won’t work, but it gives the whole rest of the season for Lorelai and Luke to get back together. Anyone agree?
Other thoughts: Luke/April interactions are very sweet. The Rory/Logan storyline is wearing thin and I’ve lost interest. I LOVE Logan but it’s getting boring. It creeps me out that Rory friends- when has she ever had friends before!? And Lorelai’s top in the kitchene scene with Sookie seemed suspicious…more baby proof? All in all, let’s pray for the quick return of Luke and Lorelai. We all know it’s right! :) Sorry this is so long!

I hope the writers read these blogs. It seems lik most everyone is in agreement…the lorelai/chris thing doesn’t feel right. The longer she’s with chris…the worse it makes her look. I don’t care what anyone says…if I was engaged to someone and we called it off and the night we called it off the other person slept with an ex…no way am I going back…no matter how much it hurts. The writers are hurting Lorelai’s character by doing this. They need to do something fast!!!

This episode was awful! absolutely awful! I have seen all the seasons, and I start watching this one with no prejudice… and… I like the three first episodes, but the fourth!! It seems like we missed too much of the story… and -more important than that- it was SO NOT gilmore girls! The “new friends” of Rory, are absolutely boring… and they look like a two forced characters…
lorelai and chris… terrible! they looked like old teenagers (embarrasing)… and lor is so much powerful for chris… they’re not meant for each other…
i’m dissapointed… :(

exactly they look like teens. chris and lor look like two people who are cheatin on their husbaand and wife. they look like they are both married or at least shold be. and the only “love” they have is i’ve known u my whole life “love” and your like a sistier/brother to me. they are doing a really bad job this season.
if anybody wants to see the end of season 6 u can on abc family and in a week or so they will start playing season 1.

I don’t think that chris is up to anything evil. He has always been head over heals about lorelai. They have never been at the same place, and now that they finally are, it’s nice to see that they can have a functional relationship. i always loved luke, but once they started dating, it felt forced, as though they are such good friends and get along so well, that it should be natural to date. But it never really fell into place for me. Christopher and lors’ relationship always was a bit more comfortable. i’m sure that lor and luke will end up together since that is the way the show has been headed since the first episode.
