Ask Ausiello Spoilers and information re: Gilmore Girls from October 18th:
Have you heard anything about what AS-P thinks of the new season of Gilmore Girls?
Ausiello: Not a word. According to her rep, Amy’s hunkered down working on her new Fox comedy series. In fact, one of my moles in the publishing world tipped me off that AS-P dropped by the offices of Random House last week to do some research. (One of the characters is a children’s-book editor.) "She was a big hit," says my Random spy, "going to lunch, dishing some gossip and talking to everyone to make sure she got all the characters right." Wait a sec: AS-P was in the Big Apple and she didn’t tell me! Not cool. Not cool at all.
I’m surprised she isn’t watching, actually. If I had invested myself in 6 Seasons, I’d want to see how it was going. Plus, those are her friends, you know?
For weeks you’ve been dishing out precious few GG spoilers. What is happening?
Ausiello: You’re right. And to make it up to you, I’m going to fill in a few more letters in my GG asterisk quiz. (Major-ass spoiler alert.) "But I suppose I could reveal it in the form of an asterisk quiz. I have it on good authority that Lorelai and Christopher — I cannot believe I am telling you this — e***e during November sweeps. I believe it. The previews really seem to be heading in that direction. But come on guys, it’s not going to last. The idea of eloping in itself alludes to that- do you really think the show would end without a full-on, Lorelai wedding? No way! And if they elope in Paris, which I assume they will, they are eloping very soon. This leaves plenty of time for them to break it off and for L/L to get back together. Riiiiight? Someone back me up because I really want to believe myself! :(

It could be lots of five letter words that start and end with “e” = elate, elude, emcee, emote, endue, ensue, erase, erode, evade, exile, exude… she types hopefully.
I think it should be ERODE - Chris & Lor ERODE during November Sweeps which leaves her free to marry Luke during May sweeps! Or maybe they ERASE their dating history? Or EVADE each other? Or Chris is sent into EXILE and must stay in Paris with GiGi & Sherry… Or Lor figures out how to ELUDE Chris and finds her way back to Luke…anything but elope. Please. Anything.

I think they will ELOPE in Paris, but Lorelai will get cold feed. As such, Lorelai figures out how to ELUDE Chris.
They will elope, but will not end up together (I think). It’s only November Sweeps - they still have February sweeps and May sweeps to put her back with Luke.

I think Lorelai should end up with Christopher. This is where her life, and his, has been heading all these years. Reminds me of Dawson’s Creek. In the end Joey really did belong with Pacey, with Dawson as a best friend. That is what Luke will be to Lorelai. Maybe she feels towards him because he is the antithesis of what her parents would want for her, and that is not being true to Luke or herself. Christopher goes out of his way to give her whatever she wants or needs. And she always goes back to him. I read that originally there wasn’t going to be a Luke character, so perhaps Lorelai and Chris reuniting is honoring the overall master plan of the show’s original conception.

I couldn’t agree less- the entire show (whether it was meant to be this way or not) has been built around Luke and Lorelai’s relationship. I’ve been watching a lot of old episodes this weekend, and I’ve realized that in pretty much any given episode, there is something that alludes to Luke and Lorelai being meant for each other. Chris is a wonderful character and has really matured and come into himself, but the intensity and the depth of his relationship with Lorelai just isn’t there. I even see it in Rory- Rory loves Luke and trust Luke more than she does Chris, I think. If Lorelai ends up with Chris, it seems to me that the past six seasons would become futile and in many senses, a waste of time. I can’t imagine the Palladinos spent all that time creating a really, really good buildup to L&L just to break it down in what looks to be the show’s last season. Logically, it doesn’t make sense. Luke and Lorelai are “written in the stars”.

I think that Chris and Lorelai being together is a nice plot for the season, but I feel it should end with Luke and lorelai. Like stated, their chemistry and what not has been building for the past for seasons. Chris comes in and out of the picture. Yes, he does grow up, but when he does he expects Lorelai to be by his side. In some ways he has regards for Lorlai’s feelings, but other ways it feels as if he doesn’t care.
Just like they said that Christopher can’t be written out of the script or Lorelai’s lovelife, Luke can’t be either. In some ways, Luke has been a father figure to Rory and he has had an impact on Lolai’s life. I feel as if Luke is a balance for Lorelai silly and spontaneous personality, where as Lorelai is the balance for Luke’s carelful and withdrawn personality. Christopher and Lorelai are both one and the same with personalities which could lead to destruction. I’m not saying that is a bad thing, but all people can’t be paired together. That is also how they’ve kept colliding through out the seasons.
One more thing, I feel that the attraction was at first because Lorelai’s parents disagreed, but turned into somethng more. When she entered into the relationship it was with her heart and the rebellion against her parents, and then she got burned and learned to follow her heart. But, that would mean growing up which will be best done without Luke. I’m not putting all of the blame on Lorelai because Luke has his problems, too. He needs more experience with people and dating. Lorelai is a people perosn and someone he wants to date, so that is a logical step. I feel that in the end, Christopher and Lorelai could have a beautiful friendship. Emphasize friendship.
I could be wrong or I could be right, but this is my opinion. And sorry if I sound confusing.

I think whats going on is INSANE!!! I have watched every single episode and Luke has definitely been included. The old saying is, “you want something you can’t have.” I guess it’s time to stop watching the show. I’m devastated over the whole thing. But! When they L&L get back together I have some great songs for the show that should be played.
