GIVE ME A BREAK!! I cannot believe they are making such a huge deal out of next week’s episode!! “Gilmore Girls: The Proposal” well if that must be, I’m definitely looking forward to “Gilmore Girls: The DIVORCE”
I swear this preview nearly made me puke… ugh.

i hate how this seasons going. first luke and lorelai seperate. then lorelai and chris get together. then they elope. AND IT IS ONLY THE 7TH EPISODE OF THE SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am looking forward to the divorce like crazy!
i dont think gilmore girls is the same as when amy was there at all. there is almost nothing funny about it and lorelai and rory just arent the same. but i dont want this to be the last season. i hope the show continues even if it isnt the same. having gilmore girls like this is better then not having gilmore girls at all.

I agree. I really hope this isn’t the last season because if they end it here, then there’s so many “what-if’s”? A lot of people say that her graduating college would be a good place to leave it off, however what about grad-school? As if Rory is going to not get her Master’s and then PhD. She’s a life-learner and won’t quit until she knows everything in the world.
Anyhow, as soon as Lorelai and Chris got back together I was screaming in agony. We all should have seen this coming with them getting back together in Season 2 and promptly breaking up, Sherry leaving, then Chris breaking Luke and Lorelai up in Season 5. But since the beginning of of the first season, Luke has been pining for her. Do you think he’ll give up that easily, even despite the fact that she’s married?
It’s like Sookie said, “You don’t rebound with the father of your child.”
Bad choice Lorelai. You’re getting kooky in your old age.

I don’t think that a dovorice is what’s going to happen, so far this season is about twist and turns, surprises. Maybe Lorelai and Chris will stayed married, but Luke and Lorelai’s relationship as friends will mature, and they will become close, like me and my friend, we are so close that we are concidered brother and sister. So I don’t think that divorise is the only answer to this season.

1 if amy was here it would be the last season she wrote the last episode already
2 Luke and lor wern’t growing up like chris and lor they have been waiting forever
3 we already know she says yes
4 and for I am a L/L fan

if amy was still here, it wouldnt be the last season for sure. amy knows what the last scene in the last episode will be, she never said anything about when that last episode will be.

i live in denmark (season 6 - april just appeared) but have bought season 6 and seens itubes for season 7, but i cant connect the dots…i dont see the same show anymore…iknow amys not there but please you start season 7 whith throwing away the past 6 seasons storyline and connection between luke/lorelei and just kill it instant? i hate seeing her with chris. If she is not to be with luke, its one thing, the whole getting to be whith chris i dont get…and their marrige screams desperate and is wrong. if lorelei where desperate (instead of hurt, and have familiy issues past and pressent) she would be on an entirely different show.
And am i the only one who cant see the luke carracter in the 7 season? there is no chance that the luke i have seen in the past season would do such a feminine act like the one in the clip, swimming lessons? aw geez…
if this is where the show is (heading storyline) im afraid to say it (i love it dont kill it) that it would have been better to end it, because as it is now its killing me…

oh and dont think they get at divorce…if they married in france maby there will be som legal error that will get them off the hook and she is free to run to luke…i mean in real life a divorce is not just something you pull of so quicly and not seeing a happy ending if they get together again(luke/lorelei) if she is getting divorced…
i bet on annulment or legal flaw to get her off it

Amy as in Amy Sherman-Palladino, the show’s creator and original writer
Just thought I’d mention one last thing: this trailer has totally ruined that song for me… haha

heres just something i found on TV Guide’s “Ask Matt”
Question: Do you think fan response has any effect at all on what the writers put into their shows? After all, we’re the ones who keep their shows on the air! I’m speaking specifically of Gilmore Girls and the fact that the majority of fans hate the Lorelai and Christopher story line and are furious at Lorelai’s trashy behavior and breakup with Luke. The writers keep telling us to keep the faith and that the characters are on journeys of self-discovery, yada yada, but I’m beginning to think that they could really care less what we think and are just lying to pacify outraged fans. I really want to give up on this once wonderful program to show my disgust and anger, but I want to know what happens to everyone else on the show! Is there any hope of it getting better?— Stephanie G.
Matt Roush: Given the fact that the producers are making no secret that Lorelai and Christopher are about to elope in Paris, it sure doesn’t look like they’re going to pander to your or other unhappy fans’ needs and wishes anytime soon. Look, I’ve gone over this material so often I’m beginning to bore myself. It’s not that I mind them being together. I mind how they came together, more specifically the ill-executed breakup of Lorelai and Luke. (Underscoring the issue this week by having Christopher be open about his letter from Sherry, as opposed to the way Luke hid the existence of April, didn’t wash with me. A little too easy, that comparison.) If you ask me, it’s not pickles that are causing the stink around Stars Hollow. If I were any more emotionally detached from the show this season, I’d be watching it from across the street. (Not that there still isn’t plenty that’s charming and funny about the show many weeks.) But to answer your first question: Producers are rarely blind to fan response, but they rarely (I hope) use that alone as a deciding factor on the creative direction of a show.

oh don’t get the wrong idea, I am a huge Luke and Lorelai fan, but just from what’s happened so far I don’t think it will be a divorce, I like the idea of there being a legal flaw. I wish with all my heart that Luke and Lorelai end up together!
2. I honestly think they do read and concider what we say, but in the end they get the final say. They probably have some surprises in store for us. I bet there’s going to be something bigger, since they told us with no problem that Chris and Lorelai were going to enlope, if that’s the big point, I doubt they would tell us before the episode!
Well we shall see in a few days the proposal and then in a few weeks what’s in store for Luke, Lorelai, Chris, Logan and Rory.

Nov 9, 2006 at 6:21 pm
i agree. i dont think that they would openly tell us that they are going to elope. there has to either be something more to the elopement (like a legal flaw or something to do with rory or luke) or the elopement isnt a big aspect of the season’s storyline (considering that this is happening early in the season, the seventh episode!). they still have a lot of time for things to go wrong between lor and chris and for lorelai to get back together with luke!

Oh pleeeeeeze…
Am I the only one who thinks that Luke&Lorelei
should never have been a couple?
It was agony watching them together, they couldn’t even act convincingly, always very stiff and distanced.
Lorelei had to tone down her witty comments about 95% in order to be understood.
And he didn’t even trust her enough to tell her about April.
They have nothing in common, and his inferiority complex regarding Lorelei is pathetic.

When I was talking to the director about Gilmore Girls. He said he though that Lorelai and Luke belong together. I agree with him.

Nov 10, 2006 at 5:00 am
Maybe they belong together as junk-food addict and diner-owner…
Well, the show must go on and who wants to see a TV series about a happy couple?
With Christopher, Lorelei has a great chance for continuos misery, and at least he’s not a bore or a neanderthal. (A guy who socks someone on the jaw because he is jealous, and that after he messed everything up himself - yeah, sure, that’s the perfect husband for Loerelei)

I honestly don’t care what happens, all I know is that I’m going to watch gilmore girls to the very last episode! I think that we should just let the writers do their job and write the show, I mean they are getting paid to write the good show. If they loose views they lose money, so they are going to do their best to keep viewers happy and write the show well.

Do you think they might kill Chris? I think we agree that to pull off a divorce later in the season would be boring and drawn out and painful (and certainly there haven’t been problems in the L/C relationship in a while.) Lorelai is truly happy with him I think and the show has never really made us HATE him aside from the fact that he’s not Luke (i.e. Chris has never been bad to Lorelai, she’s the one who hasn’t given him the chance until recently because it took her a while to realize that he’s no longer 16 and immature.) Plus, as much as they hinted to the L/L relationship all along, I think they’ve also hinted to the L/C relationship as well.
so, a) chris isn’t bad, b) Lorelai and Rory are happy… the only thing to get rid of him at this point would be to kill him after he gets married. and then Lorelai is devistated and realizes she needs to go back to Luke and have her “different” life (vs. the one she grew up in, with wealthy people, chris, her parents, etc.) back.
Not that I want this to happen. I think killing characters for the convenience of a story and to provide sensationalism and cliffhangers in a tv show is just really lame.
I’m just afraid that’s what the writers are planning to do.
For me, this show really got bad sometime during the 2nd 1/2 of season 5. It’s like the writers got lazy and ran out of ideas.
MR
Nov 11, 2006 at 12:47 pm
That’s an interesting thought, they might kill chris off. What other way are they going to get rid of him? I think that’s what they will do, but I don’t think lorelai will go back to Luke right away, she’s going to need time. But that’s a good possiblity, more likly than divorce! I wouldn’t of thought about that.
I don’t think the writers got lazy and ran out of ideas, I think they were just trying to put a twist in and didn’t exactly know how. But it seems to be getting a little better! Even with new writters! I don’t know, but give them some credit, could you write a good show like this? I sure couldn’t!
Tara Ashley
Nov 11, 2006 at 6:10 pm
No, I’m pretty sure they aren’t going to kill Chris off- remember in the interview with Rosenthal, when they ask him about Richard dying, he says no one dies. Plus that’s a really lame thing to do- I don’t think they’d stoop to that level.
Does anyone know how many episode Chris is supposed to be in? I faintly remember hearing 13…which makes me wonder if after the pivotal 13th episode, he will leave?
And while I agree that Rory and Lorelai both look happy, I think it’s more of a I’m-content than a wow-I’m-so-happy. Luke and Lorelai had passion and chemistry and Chris and Lorelai have familiarity and puppy dog love. I think it’s going to be a divorce. I think Chris is going to bow out gracefully- it seems like something he would do.

For “saintdevil”, until you can spell Lorelai’s name right, I don’t think anyone here cares about your senseless babblings regarding Luke & Lorelai having “nothing in common” and being “stiff and distanced.” If you’ve watched the show from the beginning you would know that from DAY 1 this show has centered on Luke & Lorelai’s relationship…the initial exchanges of “looks”, the building of trust through deep friendship, the realization of something more than friendship, Luke’s uncontrolable urge to profess his feelings, Lorelai’s excitement over finally feeling “right” with someone, the beautiful sight of a truly “meant-to-be” relationship, and now this…the breakup. Yuk! Most of us who have sensed the underlying vibes of the show from the beginning know that this new “journey” had better lead to the reuinification of Luke & Lorelai or else there will be a LARGE crowd of angry Gilmore fans. And that’s because the majority of Gilmore fans know how this story SHOULD (and hopefully will) end.

Hey guys or girls,
That’s not fair to say, Just because someone miss spells a name or word doesn’t mean that they don’t count! People miss spell things all the time, tell me please that you have never made a spelling erorr in your life! Come on, be nice, we are not here to be rude and mean to each other, we are here to say what we will think will happen and hear or read what others think. If you can’t be nice than don’t commit, because no one wants to read your rude snotty commits, criticizing other people. No one deserves to be made fun of or criticized because they miss spelled something, I don’t care if you are the president of the United States or any where, you don’t have the right to be mean to others! If you don’t want to hear others oppions, don’t read them! But just because someone see’s something differently than you or disagrees with you doesn’t mean that you have to be rude to them! State your oppion about the show, or questions, but don’t be rude to the other people who also state their oppion!
saintdevil, I like your ideas, and I think it’s great that you express them, I got to see the Luke/Lorelai relationship in a new light. And just so that you know, Lorelai is spelled ai, not ei, but don’t worry about it, plenty of people miss spell the name, I don’t think it is very common. I didn’t know how to spell it until I looked it up. Keep expressing your oppions, most of us value them and concider what you have to say.

Everyone thinks hey Luke and Loreali are so perfect for each other, but no one ever gave Christopher and Loreali a chance. From the episode when the whole family was in the car listening to music you could just tell it was right. I don’t think them getting married in Paris was the right idea without Rory and the family. I think they should have just gotten engaged in Paris. I like Chris and Loreali together I have followed this show from the beginning and I saw the Luke and Loreali relationship it just wasn’t right. There was something that just didn’t click. And Chris and Loreali there perfect for each other. I think they show should give them a chance instead of Loreali going right back to Luke. Luke needs to move on and I think they should see how the Chris and Lor relationship works out. I mean they shouldn’t go right to a divorce. And also if this show ends this season it would be wrong they should take it atleast one more season to see how the Chris and Lor relationship works out and the Rory and Logan relationship. Also maybe a Luke and Loreali relationship. Who knows?

Hey Holly, I saw that you wrote on the wall that you didn’t care about saintdevils opinions. Well I care about both of yalls opinions and I dont think you should be critizing her when she has a right to express her opinions like you do. Alot of people like the Luke/Lor relationship and others like the chris/Lor relationship. Also alot other people have been watching this show since day one! Lets be nice and not act like a little 2 year old! Thanks Holly

i guess i’ll go against the crowd. i’ve always wanted luke the get lorelai, but honestly as much as i’ve disliked chris at times, i also have a thing for the reunification of them. i suppose it’s just a thing i have for the actual family finally becoming one…and i think they really loved each other back in the day and i guess to see them grow seperately and come back together would make me happy…but that’s also something i hope for in my own life…so i’m biased :P
as for logan, honestly, i haven’t seen much of season 6, (or 7 for that matter) but before that i wasn’t a big fan of him, but on the other hand, rory isn’t the same girl she used to be…but i still think someone else would suit her better. if she’s still the same girl inside, she deserves the best guy they can find.
and finally…yes i know they aren’t real people, and none of it really matters anyway :P

Sorry to disagree with everybody, but I’m reeeallllyyy happy that Lorelei and Chris are together. Luke and Lorelei are just better as friends. She and Chris have similar personalities, they just mesh well. Plus, Luke is waay to emotional. And let’s not forget, he had his chance. But unfortunately, I don’t see them ending this with Chris and Lorelei together.

This used to be my favorite show and now I do not even care to watch it anymore. I don’t know what the writers are doing, but they are totally ruining the show. Maybe they are just trying to disguest their audience so that the show’[s ratings will die and they can can it.

Definitely an annulment. Luke fits into the Gilmore Girl way of life and Lorelia loves him and he loves her back!!! I never really liked christopher, plus Lorelia doesn’t really love him and he sticks out of the Gilmore Girl way of life!! And, the town adores Luke and hates christopher. AND Luke wouldn’t make Lorelia move, unlike christopher, b/c he likes living there. I heard that Jess is going to come back and Rory will break up with Logan due to some problems, then Jess will be there to sweep her off of her feet, again!! I love Jess, he never should have left and gone to California without telling Rory. !!! and what about if he comes back, is t would be wierd considering the fact that Alexis Bledel and Milo Ventigmilia just broke up!! They were such a cute couple!!!
