Luke will face challenges

by Arieanna Schweber on November 14th, 2006

It’s becoming clear what’s in store this Season for Luke, and it definitely involves April.

If you go look at the Spoiler for Episode 7.09: Knit, People, Knit!, you’ll see that Anna is going to pose some challenges for the newly developed relationship between April and Luke.

This might just be the time when Lorelai comes back into Luke’s life to help.

Just reading what’s to come… I want to just skip to episode 7.10 right now. That sounds like it has big promise.

You can read it all here.

I had not thought of it as the end of the show’s concept, but now that Brookes has made the statement, I believe he’s right. It saddens me. I only watch 2 hours of television a week, since I’m an English teacher, as I understand Lauren Graham once was, and this was my favorite show of shows . . . ever. Stars Hollow was the fantasy world that became the location of the adult fairy tale I enjoyed every week, every bit as much as I enjoyed my “Cinderella” as a child. It was warm and whacky and I identified with that aspect, as much as I did with Sookie’s size. It was INTELLIGENT escape; every week was a challenge to see if I recognized the pop-culture allusions the show was famous for. The ensemble was amazing. I felt as if I knew Taylor and Miss Patty, Maury and Babette and even felt I’d glimpsed the “noblesse oblige” of New England in Emily and Richard. More than that, there was Lorelai’s life and the love in it: Luke. From the first episode, there has been strong sexual tension between the two–as strong, though subtle, as any on television. He was the “beast” to her beauty; he fulfilled her needs before she even knew what they were. He was her champion, and while he became side-tracked with April, his “permanent reminder” of a “temporary feeling,” we all knew that sooner or later their lives would work out.
And now . . . now, you want us to accept that she will live “happily ever after” with Christopher?
So . . . you’ve created a fairy tale and now the Princess runs off with the ass instead of Shrek?

I can’t imagine how this can be salvaged.

    WOW!!
    episode 11th: Santa’s secret stuff!!
    and episode 10th….WOW!!!
Lore and Luke…i can’t wait to see it!!
i think they will not get together in these episodes yet, buuut,it must be something about their feelings about each other.
i think they will see how much they still love each other, and they need each other, something like that, something that will make them think about what’s going with their lives, about Christopher, about April, about how much they miss each other, etc.
oh, i’m so excited now, i think i’m gonna cry!!
    snif!
    no just kidding!
…i can’t wait to see it!
    CAN’T WAIT TO SEE IT!

PS:Yes! I hope Anna and April really MOVE to New Mexico!that borring kid!

i promised myself i wouldnt read that spoiler!! ok, that is my LAST one! but since i read, ill comment.

This is so ripping off Desperate Housewives!! GG is my fave #1 show, above everything else, but anyone else see any connections. Nora wanted to take Kayla away from Tom by moving to *Mexico* and wanting full parent rights.

and now Anna’s doing the same thing with April!

(o, but GG had April, the long lost daughter, before DH did, so maybe they’re copying off of each other, who knows)

I miss the dialogue and the music they didn’t even play stereo lab on the episode tonight and they were in Paris.I feel like it’s one of those 80’s sitcoms where they bring in the little kid to get ratings.I feels so cleverless, i always sort of thought writers would put Christopher and loreali together but i always thought Luke and loreali were a better match. It’s not the same and I’ve noticed that since the first episode of the season but Christopher and loreali in pairs and ill oped lame and definitely not of chracter of the show.

i miss the diner scenes:(. it was so cute to watch lorelai and luke flirt since the first season!!!! i really miss that. but i think they are destined to be together and David thinks so too. so i’m not worried about chis and lorelai being together as a married couple.
