oh, yea. did anyone see this scan? i got it off of crazy-internet-people. it looks like it was from TV Guide magazine. i agree with every point made in this article. but i dont agree with the last point made about rory and logan. rory isnt the type of girl to “play the field”. we saw that when she tried that with logan. plus, rory and logan are so good together!!
see for yourself. here is the scan:

I am so discouraged. I don’t even feel like posting. Not only was the writing so-so, but I have no idea what’s going on? I don’t know how Lorelai feels, and I can’t seem to figure out how the Lorelai and Luke thing will play out. And what’s with the random fight? News flash, DR, you can’t give us a fight without any emotional layering around it? I understand the implicit resentment they have but I wanted something before, aftermath, for Lorelai to see it, etc, etc etc. I won’t even go into how ridiculous I think the whole Marty thing is.
F.R.U.S.T.R.A.T.E.D.
Am I really going to have to wait until MID JANUARY to know anything more about all this?
GRRRR. Will post later.

oh my god it just ended. what was that fight??? i mean, they saw each other, punched each other, rolled on the ground a bit, then walked away from each other without even saying a word! weird!
and i felt so bad for rory! sure, i am not crazy about lucy and olivia, but still! they were her friends and logan had no right to do that! one more thing, that “warning” from emily? what was that? first, she says that chris is immature and then she says that she likes him?? then she says that you have to be careful with this marriage, etc. that was weird! ahh, i am still digesting this. i will have more comments tomorrow on the recaps. please make sure you get the fight in the clips!!
oh, and if you were wondering why there wasnt a promo for the next episode when the show ended, it is because this episode was the last new episode until january 23 (49 days away!)! i know it is sooo long to wait! oh well, the actors need some sort of a break!

ok i must say that i was very disappointed with this episode. and i agree that the writing sucked and how the fight was the weirdest thing. it was just so odd and messed up! im trying to give the new writer a chance but its getting to be too weird. wheres the wit and fun? after that fight, i thought i was going to see blood dripping down their faces!

Alright, here is where my fanactic kicks in. I watched the episode, I also recorded the episode…so I will watch it again. I find it easier to watch when I can fast forward through commercials, I suppose that I got spoiled by the DVDs. Anyways, I am not sure what to think about this episode. I will have to watch it again. I agree however, that the fight was weird. They didn’t say a word! Strange!!!

omg. that was crazy.
and emilys speech?
ok SOMEONE isnt richard’s biggest fan.
i know the fight was weird, but it was SO FUNNY!
funny things:
-chris starts the fight
-swings at luke, and misses
-they knock over the tree and the gingerbread house
-they r both SO out of shape and tired at the end
-they both still looked hot :D
-lorelai doesnt know a THING about it
WE HAVE TO WAIT A MONTH AND A FREAKING HALF TO FIND OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHh
i heard gg is only going to have 17 episodes this season. TELL ME ITS NOT TRUE!!!!!

this episode was so sad. the fight was great though. we better not haave to wait a month and a half. i will probably die. i dont think logan should have said anything. And if chris rushes Lorelai into having a baby that wil ruin EVERYTHING. this episode was not what i thought it would be. and when rory crys in the end….that is so sad. and then logan just leaves. And Lorelais moms advice. that was kinda wierd if u ask me.
I CANT AIT FOR THE NEXT ONE.

It is really disappointing to have the new writer ruin such a great show. I of all people want gilmore girls to live forever on our tv screens, but at this rate it will definately be out of here. What are they thinking?? This show was once SO AWESOME. I couldn’t wait week to week to watch it. But now I am always confused and the way Lorelai acts about everything is so peculiar. It is like someone knows what I want to happen and does everything the opposite to get under my skin. :( Well the good years will always be with me on DVD!

the fight was REALLY cool but it was horbbily acted. the whole marty, rory debocile was handled horibly. the chris being jelous was great though. i also thought that luke and lorelai look so perfect standing next to each other with her holding a baby.

I want Lorelai and Chris to live happily ever after, they belong together. The way life goes with a relationship like Lorelai and Chris; even if they divorce it will never end, they have always loved each other and they always will. He will always run back to her and she will always run back to him. I believe Lorelais mom, Mrs. Gilmore, was right on time with her advice, she is exactly right on about how she said Lorelai is, although we know she has been on her own since she was 16 years old, she is human and should be able to learn new ways, like submit as her mother said. I know things will not work out like I am saying but it would be wonderful if Lorelai and Chris stay married and have children. It would be good to see something good on TV for a change; to let the young people know that live can be wonderful. Chris is so loving and romantic, to night when he said why they eloped; made me want to kiss him myself. Luke is not romantic at all and he thinks of himself, he is selfish, he found he had a daughter; and just about dropped Lorelai like a hot potato; on the other hand when Chris was married to the other woman and had a child, he never let Lorelai down, oh sometimes he made her sad, but I believe the way the story line goes; it has always been Lorelai that kept them apart, she has a big problem with commitment, she will never find anyone to love her as much as Chris does, seeing how things have been written so far. Luke lost a good woman that thought she loved him, in real life she loved him because being with him spelled safety, the safety she always had with Chris, but was scared to commit. Luke to me is a stupid man, I am wondering if the girl is really his daughter anyway; one understands that one loves their children but he lost my support when he chose his suppose to be daughter over Lorelai. As for the other Gilmore girl, it is to soon to tell, she does not know what she wants, but she is not afraid to commit like her mother. This should be an interesting season, the writers’ are probably having a great time. It is a awesome show.

First of all, I have to say something about the actual fight itself. I can’t help but think that the people who are knocking the fight must be people who’ve never been in a fight of any sort themselves before. I didn’t think it was that bad, on a purely mechanical level.
Trying to use all of your strength to dodge, wrestle with, and then injure someone else gets the adrenaline and the blood going, which, in turn, can take the breath away.
If you watch hockey fights, they essentially stand still (although they do move around a bit and jockey for position in some ways) and throw as continuous a string of punches as possible. They are professional athletes, and they’re usually exhausted after no more than thirty seconds to one minute of this. Why? Because full-on fighting takes stamina. So, it’s no suprise that two older dudes like Chris and Luke would be quite exhausted/out of breath, from both the exertion, and just the adrenaline rush.
Another thing I’ve heard is that people wish it was more of a decisive victory for Luke. Again, I think that criticism comes from people with no knowledge of fighting. I would argue that it pretty much was a decisive victory for Luke, who got in at least three very solid borderline-knockout punches (I think at least two of them were knockdown punches), whereas Chris only got in one. It would have been too unrealistic if Chris hadn’t landed at least one punch. I’d give the decision to Luke, hands down.
Now, the way the fight was set up was a bit ridiculous, but that’s a whole different story…

p.s. How dumb was Rory in this episode? She’s seriously immature.
Telling her mom that she told Logan everything about the Marty situation beforehand wasn’t exactly telling the truth. She conveniently left out the fact that the only reason she told Logan was because he stumbled on to the truth, and she left out the fact that Logan was made aware that Marty still has the hots for her, AND the fact that Logan was playing nice at dinner until a ridiculously sulky Marty had to throw in a stupid comment about his trust fund.
Of course, Logan arguably shouldn’t have snapped the way he did, but Rory was being pretty juvenille herself, and Marty is a downright creepy loser (can you say fatal attraction?). This whole thing could have been avoided if Rory had just told Lucy the truth in the first place.

Guys, guys!!
Fill me in, Fill me in!!
I live in Brazil and this episode will take sooo long to get in here, so, please, Fill me in, how was the fight and everything???
i can tell you didn’t like it so much!
but what happened? it was so bad and “fake” like you’re saying?!
and what about Rory?
I agree, Rory and Marty should tell everybody about they already know each other, keep it in secret was so imature and it really doesn’t make sense!
…and about Emily’s advice to Lorelai…according to what you’re saying…it was weird, very weird!
…it’s so not our Gilmore Girls anymore!!!
the funny conversations, the smart references…where are they??
like I said many, many times….Amy left…our Gilmores left too!!
we gonna have to live with that…it’s sad, but it’s true!
Oh!! i was almost forgetting!!..did you see that in the credits in the beginning of the show, like “guest star”" special apperence”, etc….in the “executive producer”, did you see the name???
AMY SHERMAN-PALLADINO!!
…so, is she still working for the show??!!
…something weird, hah?!
i’m leaving now, but i’ll came back later..so, fill me in guys!!
Chloe

She’s not still working for the show, but it says she’s the creator, not the executive producer. She is and will always be the creator. Gilmore Girls is terrible without ASP and DP.
Obsessed GG fan!!

OMG this episode was so AWESOME! I was screaming and jumping up and down during the fight! I was so excited I could not breathe! This has to be the most intense event of the whole Gilmore Girls show!
I seriously dont like chris anymore! He is a pompus A**! I hate him! He was all trying to seal the deal by getting Lorelai pregnant and trying to keep her in this marrige! I think Lorelai is Rethinking the whole marrige and doesnt want a part in the party and to have a wedding with Chris! She doensnt like the frills and fancy stuff her mom wants her to have and lorelai doesnt want it! I think at the moment Chris left the room she knew their marrige was going down the toilet! She wanted to give her two cents in before things got ugly.
I hope Lorelai gets a divorce with chris and luke will gain partial parental rights for April and for Anna to stop being a B****!
Rory! you need to grow up! crying because of a fight between Lucy and olivia! who cares! i dont like Lucy anyway! OMG the “Boyfriend” thing is really bugging me! she can say “logan” and “Rory” but she cant manage to say her own boyfriends name! I think Lucy ovvereacted for the fight over marty! who really cares if they knew each other!
I hope Luke finally realizes what he wants and how he is going to get it back! He is fighting for april and in last nights episode he will try more to get Lorelai back! He knows that Chris is bad for her and that she needs him to make her happy again!
The whole Gilmore Girls show has been about Luke and Lorelai’s relationship and if she stays with Chris that will be a total waste of time!
I WANT MY GILMORE GIRLS BACK!

Okay…just so everyone’s on top of it…here’s what the wonderful Ausiello says:
Question: In the last podcast, you said that the story line on Gilmore Girls with Chris sulking and Luke helping Emily while Richard is sick has been “tweaked.” Does that also mean that Lorelai’s resulting epiphany about the two men has also changed?— Katie
Ausiello: Turns out it was just a minor “tweaking.” The story plays out the same way, with Luke running errands for Emily and Chris throwing a pity party for himself. But it’s my understanding that Lorelai’s epiphany will be more gradual. The end result, of course, will be the same: Luke in, Christopher out. Speaking of Episode 13, in a Gilmore first, nearly the entire hour will take place in the hospital. I hear there’s some great Lorelai/Emily stuff. It’s about damn time.
DA
Dec 6, 2006 at 11:21 am
I completely agree with MA on that one: “it’s about damn time!!”
So here’s what I thought about this episode, now that my thoughts have cleared up a little bit :):
**The opening scene scared me to death. I seriously held my breath the whole time, thinking “what the crap?! not more lovey-dovey CL!!” However, I must give Chris the credit for recognizing Lorelai’s face this time… she wants to stay in Stars Hollow- good for her!! And good for him to let this one go :)
**I’m glad Liz was there to talk to Luke and give him the idea to get a lawyer. Especially with Anna, there isn’t any other way to compromise. (By the way, I HATE Anna. What is her problem?? I just wanted to punch her in the face when she said April wouldn’t be going to the movies with Luke. That was just awful!!). But funny funny, Liz leaving Doula with Luke like that!! What a cute baby!!!
**Luke-Lorelai moment= halfway executed. It was supposed to do TWO THINGS: make Chris jealous (which obviously succeeded with FLYING COLORS hahaha) AND establish a googly-eyed connection and create a “this is what could have been” moment (but, alas, Lorelai was too fascinated with Doula that she seemed to forget who was pushing the stroller… wasn’t exactly sweet and poignant, more “hey! aww cute… ok gotta go” without eye contact).
**I felt like the main theme of this episode was OVERREACTIONS. Lorelai, to be honest, in her attempt to thwart the wedding party plans, kind of went overboard (a sign of the old Lorelai, though!!!). Chris-hahaha-hahahahahahahahaha- sorry can’t stop laughing!!- completely overreacted to Luke/Lorelai/Doula and (to my complete delight hehehe) was shut down when he mentioned (or should I say FORCED) the idea of more kids with Lorelai. I must applaud Lorelai for standing her ground on that one… The whole Marty/Rory thing was sickeningly stupid. Lucy completely overreacted to it!!! What the heck?? “You knew my boyfriend but lied about it?! I hate you!!” hahahaha… geez, you are SO intelligent. I think Logan did the right thing though- the whole charade was jouvenile times infinity. I’m just sad that once again, Rory is alone… oh wait!! She always has Lane (wherever she is… haha)!! I miss their friendship… It would be a cool storyline for Rory to keep up with Lane and her twins. But, oh well.
**THE FIGHT!! I actually liked it. I like how absolutely nothing was said, it was just grrr!! punch!! roll around!! kick!! punch!! grrr!! walk away. It was comical to me, which fits GG better than a soapy fist-fight. I cannot wait to see if Lorelai finds out, and what she says!! :)
**I LOVED EMILY’S WARNING. I thought it was BRILLIANT. She wasn’t condescending, nor was she “you have to make this work” about it- simply matter-of-fact. I think it’s very true though: her trademark pride and her need to win every argument will destroy the marriage. I couldn’t read Lorelai’s face at the end, so I have no idea how she will be affected by it. In part, I can see her trying a little more to make things work, but I see more of her mulling over the words and starting to step back and re-evaluate everything from a distance. Either way, it’s all downhill from here, folks!!!!!! :)

I think you said it all DA- though I really didn’t think Emily’s speech was THAT great. At first I found it muddling and a little hard to read, but I think it was well said. I have a feeling, though, that it’s going to push Lorelai to make the marraige work rather than to reevaluate it.
You’re right about the L/L moment being half-executed. I guess I kind of expected to see more inner-pining on Luke or even Lorelai’s end. Instead it seemed very friendly, very brisk. I thought the piano-playing pickpocket line was lame, lame, lame. And I thought that Lorelai could have exhibited more motherly instincts than she did. She seemed more hesitant with the baby than I imagined. Luke, of course, continues to be amazing as a person and as an uncle. He is such a good person. I love how he smiled at Chris instead of glaring at him. I love how his love for *Doula?* was greater than any other emotion involved in the moment. I think DR was right on the money with that one.
The Marty/Logan/Rory story line doesn’t even deserve our comments. Terrible?! I highly, highly doubt that Lucy’s first reaction to the lie would be intense anger- I think it would more along the lines of intense confusion. What reason does she have to be angry? So what if it was kept a secret. It’s not like she found out they used to date or slept with each other or something. Chill out!!! Logan acted out of jealousy and that was, I guess, wrong, but there is logic behind what he did and I can’t be mad at him for it. He’s still a good guy in my books. Rory’s tears were overdramatic and made me want to forward the scene. Grrrr. Sorry if I’m so bitter about this, but really, after 6 seasons of fantastic story lines, this is just icing on the cake of the show’s demise.
I thought Lauren Graham acted brilliantly in this episode. Sure, they don’t give her much to work with, but she still has it. I really wish they’d give her some more emotional scenes. Instead it’s all about her feeling bad that she’s hurt lame-o’s feelings.
They are truly ruining Christopher’s character. Not that I care- but still, he used to be a decent guy, and I used to have nothing against him. Now I think he’s borderline disgusting. He practically smothered Lorelai in bed- apparently trying to make a baby right there and then? Ewww. Creepy. Get out of that house Chris! You do NOT belong!
The fight was blah. Understated. Maybe we will have more clarity on it in the next episode.
Overall I was less than impressed with this episode. If they don’t come back in full force next year I might lose my faith in the show. I NEED some really deep episodes or for SOMETHING to be done with C&L&L besides silly fights over their marraige. I want to finish an episode, sit back and think, “wow. that was incredible.” BRING IT BACK DR! We are COUNTING on you!

I researched getting married in France and here is what I found at http://www.flyawayweddings.com/france/
“It is not at all easy for foreigners to organise a legal civil wedding in France however, since the residency requirement is long and never waived.
Church weddings, following a legal marriage elsewhere, are perfectly possible and popular.
There are three very important points:
Religious weddings in France are never legal ceremonies.
A religious ceremony can only be performed after a civil wedding has taken place.
For a civil wedding there is a long residency requirement.
So, getting legally married in France is quite a daunting prospect to organise.”
This, to me, is the loophole I’ve been praying for! No way Christopher and Lorelai are married. My guess is Emily will learn France’s policy and spill the beans to the others. THAT will be a great show.
