Episode 7.13 Spoilers
The spoilers for episode 7.13 "I’d Rather be in Philadelphia" are getting quite long and detailed.
I’ll direct you to the Gilmore Girls Season 7 post for the details so as not to spoil it for others.
I think it’s going to be, by far, the best episode of the season. I can’t wait!
Also, an interesting note as related to the title of the episode. It has to do with a statement often made by WC Fields:
Here lies W. C. Fields. I would rather be living in Philadelphia.
This was an epitaph Fields proposed for himself in a 1925 article in Vanity Fair. It refers to his long standing jokes about Philadelphia (his actual birthplace), and the grave being one place he might actually not prefer to be. This is often repeated as "On the whole, I’d rather be in Philadelphia.", or "All things considered, I’d rather be in Philadelphia." which he might have stated at other times. It has also sometimes been distorted into a final dig at Philadelphia: "Better here than in Philadelphia." His actual tomb at Forest Lawn in Glendale, California simply reads "W. C. I didn’t mind the character of Jess. But I hated the way Milo portrayed him. There were many times where his lines sounded so forced that I would visibly cringe. I actually preferred Jess in season 2 when he was trying to win Rory because at least then every now in then it was obvious that he was just a boy absolutely smitten with Rory. However, once he actually got her, almost immediately, he started treating the relationship like crap. It was annoying. He was better in Season 4, but again, I only liked his plotlines concerning Luke and Liz. I will admit that Milo and Patterson have good chemistry together. And it was cute when he took Luke’s advice and read the self-help book on relationships.
He had a nice cameo in Season 6, and it was cool for him to be the one to snap Rory out of her party girl, slut D.A.R. coordinator haze.
But in terms of a relationship with Rory, he has not been my favorite. I like him more for his chemistry and plotlines with Luke more than anything else.
Anyways, I can’t wait for the hospital episode.

This is another picture for this episode of Lorelai, Rory, and Emily in the hospital. But, you can’t see Lorelai’s left hand. Her coat is covering it.
The only reason I am not a Jess fan is because he didn’t treat Rory right. He wasn’t honest with her and he didn’t tell her his problems, especially with school and why he left. If he talked to her instead of just making up stories and letting her help him with school or whatever, I would have liked him better.

I really did like Rory and Jess together!
They complimented each other.
I think i’m starting to warm up to Logan. But everytime I start to like him he pulls something really stupid. It would be cool if Jess and Rory would start to date again!

So, i’m the only one here that liked Jess??
…I know, Jess was really a jerk to Rory, treated her like trash,etc, but he really loved her.
He made some mistakes, but he really loved Rory.
Look at the 6th season on his come back, he became a nice guy, with a real job, responsable, and he would be with Rory, if she didn’t like Logan.
Jess was a jerk, but what about Logan??
he cheated on Rory with the bridesmaids.
Not ONE bridesmaid…at least THREE of them.
And since he showed up in her life….everything is a mess.
starting with Rory dropping off Yale.
Then she stole a boat.
Then Rory became the dependent-girlfriend, who needs her boyfriend all the time.
Come on guys!!
Near Logan, Jess did Nothing!
Logan is not the kind of guy that “old” Rory liked.
She was always a simple kind of girl, with simple kind of friends, and simple kind of Clothes!( cause, now Rory is the kind of “rich-clothing girl”, you know, with beautiful coats, boots,Dresses,etc….look at her clothes before-Logan…and now…with Logan.Now it’s so not Rory!
And remember what Jess said when he came back on 6th season?….about Logan:
“We used to LAUGH at guys like that”
and:
“The guys has a Porsche”??
…Please, Rory going out with a guy who has a Porsche?!!
….
Jess changed and became a really nice guy.
Logan will always be the rich, daddy’s boy!
…come on Jess’ fans…i need a little help in here!!

Ohh… I thought the episode title referred to the movie “A Philadelphia Story,” which Luke was watching earlier this season. I just thought that was it because this episode is when there is a shift in the Luke, Lorelai, Christopher, Love triangle.
You see, I didn’t like Jess with Rory. But I liked Jess. I loved how Milo portrayed him. I love Milo, just not Jess.

Read:

and
“‘She will be single after breaking up with Chris. She’ll not reunite immediately with Luke.’”
Both are from crazy-internet-people. I think Lorelai not immediately reuniting with Luke is good. If she went straight to Luke after ending a marriage, then it would be like she NEEDS a man in her life, and that isn’t Lorelai. Lorelai is a strong independent person. It would be very unrealistic for her to just go from Chris straight to Luke. But I am extremely happy that Chris will be out of the picture.

Jess was an ok guy, a lot better than Logan, I agree with Manu_GG about him. She’s a rich snobby gil now, and isn’t the same, humble Rory we know and love. If Luke and Lore actually get married, and have a baby, this show will be one of the best all season!!

01/21 - In the hospital waiting room, Lorelai, Rory and Emily anxiously await word on Richard’s condition. When Logan hears what is happening, he borrows a helicopter to be by Rory’s side, but Lorelai is unable to reach Christopher, who is still angry over their fight the night before. Upset by Emily’s attempt to remain calm by dealing with her social calendar, Lorelai is relieved when Luke shows up unannounced and volunteers to run errands for Emily. i agree. i don’t think lorelail will go straight to luke. i think something bad will happen and luke will be by her side and she will relize that luke is her first choice
