Lauren Graham sticks by Alexis Bledel
Kristin of E! followed up on the rumors stirred up by Ausiello’s revalation that perhaps Alexis Bledel might not want to go onto Sesaon 8 of Gilmore Girls. Ausiello had mentioned a possible backup plan featuring a season without Alexis, but even that may not be so bright:
The plan of a Roryless eighth season has been firmly rejected for one very good reason: Lauren Graham is sticking by her onscreen daughter (you gotta love that) and has made it clear that she will not continue the show without Alexis on board.
So…will we get another season? Lauren and Alexis are making the decision as a team. If they both decide to partake in an eighth season, we’ll get another year of Gilmore bliss. If not (and it kills me to even think it!), this will be the final year of the show we so adore.
Still, don’t start saying your goodbyes just yet. The show’s rep at the CW insists the report that Alexis does not want to continue with the show is "really just a rumor…I’ve never heard that from Alexis’ people or any reliable source close to the production."
Plus, there’s another reason to hold out hope: I’m also told CW president Dawn Ostroff isn’t ready to let Lorelai and Rory go—and is prepared to do "whatever it takes" to turn the show around creatively and keep it around another year.
So, I am kinda glad there will never just be a Gilmore "girl", but I will never be happy if we have no "Girls" at all.

I thnk its great news to hear that Alexis is going to stay another season! Thank you Lauren for protesting that Alexis stay and let the show go on! It would never be the same if Alexis was not there just the same as if Lauren was not there( I would be extra mad if that happened) They are the dynamic duo on tv right now and you always sitck together on and off screen! thank you writers and directors who are doing whatever it takes to have our Gilmore Girls stay on the show!

Just an FYI! :) Director’s cut is up on CWTV.com. It’s super tense…it’s between Luke and Anna as they wait to go into court…I feel so bad for Luke :( :( :(

i think it is so sweet that lauren wont continue withouot alexis.
the frist director’s cut is sickening becuase lorelai and chris are happy together :( i just am so excited to know htat later in that episode they will be fighting YEY
in the second director’s cut, anna is a total jerk. what is up her butt? i cannot stand her. GO LUKE!!!!

The show with just one of the Gilmore Girls (either one) would not be “Gilmore Girls”. It would be a mess instead.

Does anyone remember McClain Stevenson from Mash? He quit b/c he thought he had a hot career waiting for him. He didn’t.
Sorry to say, Alexis has not blossomed as an actor in my opinion. She was actually better when she was a teenager.
I saw her in Sisterhood of the traveling pants and I swear, she is so stiff and awkward as an actress. She also comes across as being a bit dull-witted in real life. That’s too bad.
Anyway, I think she should take whatever acting roles are offered her, including another year of GG. I don’t think she’ll be remembered in a few years.
Lauren will…she is way too talented. :)
Just my opinion of course. I know other people here love Alexis but what can I say? :)

I respect Laura for not selling out Alexis. It shows respect and it shows that she knows that she’s not a good enough actress to hold the show by herself.

I kind of agree with you about Alexis. In the interviews I’ve seen her in, she comes across as “not all there” When she was younger, like season 4 down she was cute because she had a child like innocence in front of the camera, but I think now people are expecting her to assume the adult celebrity role in interviews and she’s not quite there yet. I don’t think it’s necessarily dull-wittedness as much as she’s still learning how to act in front of the press. I think she’ll get there with time.
But I agree that she hasn’t really blossomed yet as an actress. But I think she’ll get there.

No offense to anyone, about anything. I just think these women are being smart (thanks to their agents) and playing the “if you want another season than pony up the $$$$$$$$” game. And, why not. If the CW is unwilling to let go then they will get LG/AB in an 8th but it’ll cost them.

I have figured out a way for Alexis to not be on GG full time next year, but still be there…
At the end of this year, have her get a good job somewhere far away from Stars Hollow. Somewhere that we can still have her in the show, through telephone and still have the show, but have it more focused on Lorelai and the supporting characters. So basically the show will still be the same, just a little less Rory and mainly just mentions of her- like ‘hey check out this email from Rory’ or just phone conversations that can be filmed anywhere to still have her there.

I am so gald Chris is leaving. When i started watching the 4th season i liked Chris because of his connection with lorelai and how their sarcasm is the same. I think Luke has grown accustomed to it also because he is funny when he wants to be. I honestly think Luke is right for Lorelai because at the pilot episode it showed a romance growing and we all knoew that was it for lorelai HE is right for her. I just cant wait for Lorelai to be happy again. she has been so unhappy for so long with Chris and i want her to act like her normal self and to be in a REAL relationship! I cant wait for tommmorrow!

I’m glad Lauren Graham stuck by Alexis- it just wouldn’t be the same without both of them.
there is this one picture of lorelai that I keep coming across and I can’t seem to find what episode it is in. Lorelai is at Luke’s, and she is wearing an orange shirt that has a pattern on it and she is looking at luke while he is pouring coffee. I think it’s in season 1 or 2, but I can’t seem to find the episode. If anyone knows what I’m talking about, please tell me which episode it’s in. Thanks!

Ok so i read that because i said so interview…and the part about gilmore girls kind of confused me…because at the beggining they asked if gilmore girls was over and she was like “Wow, no” but then a little later she was saying stuff abotu how no one was for sure…can someone help me with this!?!?!

You know what is frustrating in “Gilmore Girls”? When Lorlai is with Cristopher, you want her with Luke, but when she’s with Luke, you want her with Cristopher! When Lorlai became un-engaged with Luke, I was like “OMG!!…ok, well, then she can be with Cristopher.” now that THEY are married I am angry at Christopher for never being there. whenever something is good with Lorlai and whoever she has dated over the seasons, Cristopher has ALWAYS come by AGAIN and ruined it!!! its like, forshadowing, whenever Lorlai meets someone, dates someone, whatever, along comes Cristopher!!
Anyway, gotta go, Gilmore Girls is on!
