Matt Czuchry Interview
RoryandLogan.net recently interviewed Matt Czuchry. The full interview can be found here, but some excerpts include:
R&L.net: Well that’s pretty cool. Ok now I’m going to get to the Gilmore Girls. Have quite a few questions to ask about that of course, so first one is how much of Matt Czuchry is there in Logan?
Czuchry: <pause> You know I think that definitely at first I approached the character from Logan’s perspective as opposed to my own personal experiences. I always go to–what are the thoughts of Logan with what he’s interacting with in a particular scene, so it definitely is a first step that I look at Logan on how he would approach it. There are times when I have personal experiences or personal ways that I would handle a situation and they do come into play. So I would say it’s probably, you know, it’s mostly 80% Logan and then um, 85% Logan and the rest would be myself. I think that actually, that through this whole process in the last 3 years, that Logan has probably informed my personal life more than my personal life has informed Logan actually. Living in that head space in the past 3 years has informed the things that I want to do with my life, more so than who I am has informed Logan.
R&L.net: How do you prepare for an emotional or serious scene compared to the fun-loving and light-hearted scenes?
Czuchry: A lot of music comes into play right before shooting a particular scene. The preparation is completely different as far as the thoughts that you put into those particular scenes. And then for me it’s also helpful just to be in that headspace before shooting that particular scene. So what helps me to get in that headspace is, a lot of times, music. Music has a way of–when you listen to a particular song, it gives you a particular feeling or a particular emotion inside so it reminds you of a particular experience you’ve had. So I make a playlist, so to speak, for a particular scene and that playlist would be drastically different for a playful scene or a fun scene as opposed to an emotional scene, and those emotions would be drastically different as well. So that kinda gets me in the right headspace. And then before doing those scenes, the work that you do is also completely different.
R&L.net: Absolutely. I can only imagine. I mean you guys do such a great job of with the emotional scenes like last year when you were in the hospital, when your character was in the hospital I know that was pretty emotional. And both you and Alexis played that very well. So… kudos to you.
Czuchry: Thank you. And on that particular thing as far as the hospital, also it helps for those particular things just to be in the bed like that and to have the cast on and a lot of those physical things that are just there also help with that scene in particular. With those scenes, in particular when I was in the hospital, I had a cast on that they had to put on my leg. And anytime you have something on your body that you really don’t want there, it definitely helps you out. And being in the bed immobile…and the makeup artist did a great job on those particular scenes, so you definitely look at yourself in the mirror and see yourself all beat-up. All those kinds of things inform those emotions, so thank you.
R&L.net: Now do you know if by the end of the season, whether or not he will be proud of Logan or not?
Czuchry: In terms of the last episode that just happened–that one was the business deal falling through. That’s kinda going to be the last push of these episodes as far as what that does to Logan and what that does to the relationship between Rory and Logan and Mitchum as well. That is kinda going to inform these last storylines. There is going to be some really big changes in Logan and in the way he’s going to approach his life over the course of these last episodes. I think that this last arc for Logan is really nice, and I think that fans will be…it will be interesting to see how fans respond to this last change in Logan, because we’re going to see him in another way that we haven’t before. It’ll be interesting to see how people respond.
It’s a great interview. Matt sounds like a very sweet guy!

Very nice interview with MC. Whether he is on GG or will go on doing other projects I am sure he will do very well.
I guess we all will have to play the waiting game about Season 8 until the “powers that be” decided to renew and give everyone what they are asking for to stay on. Unless Ausiello get the big scoop and is willing to share. Quite frankly, GG is the only reason I watch the CW.
Like Luke, us Gilmore fans are in it for the long haul….

Look!
The transcript for the latest TV Guide podcast! They talk about Luke and Lorelai and if they will have enough time at the end of this season to have a satisfyingly (to us)relationship, and if there will be an eighth season, and MA said he has a gut feeling there will be!

why would somebody like logan is the question… I hate him for so many reasons that I’m not going to explain again. but as I said in that page, I think Matt Czuchry is a great guy, he seems so sweet and humble, not like his character at all.

That’s the entire basis for their job description anyway… is to create an illusion. Yeah, Czuchry does come across as a gracious, down-to-earth guy.
Which further proves that y’don’t need to jump couches to be Mr. Popularity.
And what’s not to like ’bout Logan, his character? If anything, he’s made the transformation from reckless to responsible adult nicely.

I really don’t know what’s going to happen with Rory/Logan situation. I agree with Ausielo, they don’t know what to do with them!
But i think Rory shouldn’t be with him in the end of this season! Logan is a…jurk! He is a spoiled kid.
… Based on what Ausielo said, i think he’s going to turn out a very poor guy, with no money, then he maybe will be a nicer guy and boyfriend.
But what really matters is that our Lorelai and Luke get back together!!
I can’t wait to see episode 19!!

The big reason why I liked Logan is because he introduced Rory to a whole new world when they met. I don’t care for his immature, selfish behavior but he is, however, a product of his environment…remember his nasty mother and her nasty comments to Rory. And who can forget Emily’s cattiness to Logan’s mother when she finally realized what happened - classic Emily.
I will always wonder how a Rory and Jess relationship would have developed after Jess opened his book store.

Well Manu_GG, and anyone else who wants Logan and Rory to break up, you shall get your wish. At least, that is what it says on crazy-internet-people. Here is the new stuff that was posted-
A Global promo for tomorrow’s episode:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eocCvIA5t8
Which leads me to-
“I have been told that Rory and Logan break up for good before the season ends.”
Which was confirmed-
“If you need any confirmation about R/L break up, I can give you one. Some time ago my little source told me about it, I haven’t said anything in a fear to be killed here for saying this, but since I’m not the only one who heard of it…. it’s true” (’here’ meaning Fan Forum)
Also, something to look for in tomorrow’s episode-
“And that “The Gilmore Girls” are soooo ga-ga over the Pernice Brothers’ tune “Conscience Clean (I Went to Spain),” it will pop up on the popular CW series tomorrow night. Not that we’re spoil sports or anything, but we hear it will air during the scene when Lane and her hubby, Zack, have Luke over for dinner to ask him to be godfather to their soon-to-be-born twins.”
There ya go.

Y’sure ’bout that?!
I’ve read those “breakup” rumors too. So far, there’s no other substantial proof to back that claim up. According to Ausiello, he knows that the CW execs/ writers WANT Rory & Logan together.
The promo’s just highlighting the fight they had right after Mitchum gave Logan a piece of his mind o’er the business blowout *check out the DC @the CW website*
But if you read further on the crazy-internet-people site, you’ll see that Logan goes to surprise Rory on ‘er road trip & asks for her forgiveness… How’s that?!
Also, in “Hay Bale Maze”, the new episode after the hiatus, Logan’s due to appear in Stars Hollow…
Unless something catastrophic happened to the spoilers in the last couple of hours, I’d say things are looking up for our “adorable” couple, for the rest of you Logan-haters: sorry to rain on your parade:p

Ok, if you read what I posted correctly, you see that they will be broken up by the end of the season, so they could have a fight, make up, then break up, or something. I never said they are going to break up anytime soon, just by the end of the season.

Ok, I just wanted to say, since it just happened, when Logan flies to the wedding to ask Rory for her forgiveness, nothing is fixed, it might have become worse. But who knows where they will stand by the end of the episode. Or, maybe since he will be in Stars Hollow for the maze, they will fix their problems over the hiatus.

The point here is that it’s just a TV SHOW. With the direction they’re takin’ with Rory & Logan’s relationship, it’s all downhill from here, frankly just put us out of our misery!
