Gilmore Girs Spoiler: “Wedding/Breakup”
This Gilmore Girls spoiler comes from Ausiello this morning. It is confusing and big, so it’s going behind the cut.
Oh, and for you Rory & Logan lovers, it’s about them.
I can now confirm that in this season’s penultimate episode of Gilmore Girls, airing May 8, Logan will get down on bended knee and propose to his beloved Ace (aka Rory). But before you pop open the bubbly, keep in mind what I reported in my Ausiello Report vodcast last month: That’s the same episode in which the lovebirds break up.
All together now: "WTF?"
All I can say is, Rogan ’shippers better prepare themselves for one hell of a roller-coaster ride.
Ok, so maybe, just maybe, they break up and Logan comes back to propose? Or if he proposes and the break up, do they get back together. Or is Ausiello just confirming the breakup and nothing more? OMG I want to know!!
What do you think???

I hope that in a day and time when things are not going so well, that they would let this show end well and happily ever after. Is that so bad? This couple is together, this couple is together and now as the season/show ends they begin the next phase of their lives.

Yeah. they should break up… Rory would never ever be a Huntzburger. Logans parents are jerks who would never accept her for what she is. I think in a surrounding like that, noone can be happy…

I don’t understand this. Haven’t we known this for weeks? Logan proposes and she says no and they break up. It is confirmed he is not in the season/series finale. I don’t understand why this is “new” news.

when i read the first post that he proposes and they break up i was so mad, that would be A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. if it was not how it seemed, but then why would he be missing from the season finale? i kno he moves to Calif. so maybe he goes to get his apartment or w/e set up if they do get back together.

IMO, I don’t really understand why this could be confusing (based on other spoilers)…I’m thinking that Logan proposes, Rory says no, and then they break up. However, I’m hoping that its not like that and that they break up prior to him proposing. The show should end on a happy note, not a depressing one…but I have a feeling its not going to be that great for rogan fans. =\

Rory just needs a new guy altogether. Someone who won’t change her and wants what’s best for her. ‘Rory Deserves a Prince’ as Luke said and Logan, Dean, Tristan, and Jess obviously arent it. Just get over it. They are breaking up/have broken up. Get over it.

yea me to i think that this is what i think the story line should be okay they break up and during that BAD time Logan realizes that he cant live w/o Rory and he goes back to her and says to her “Rory i love you i realized that i cant live w/o you”..dramatic pause…… bends down….. and says wil you marry me?…… she starts crying……… kisses him……. he soo is that a YES?…… she kisses him agian…… thats what i want the story line to be!!!

LOGAN PROPOSES ON THE DAY RORY GRADUATES FROM YALE “Unto The Breach”
On the eve of Rory’s graduation, Emily and Richard throw her a party and perform a song in her honor. At the party, Lorelai and Christopher are reunited for the first time since their separation, and both are relieved to find they can still be friends. Logan surprises everyone at the party by proposing to Rory, but she is too shocked to give him an answer and begs Lorelai to help her decide what to do. On graduation day, Rory and Paris receive their diplomas, and Rory finally gives Logan her answer. What do you think she’ll say? Meanwhile, Lorelai is embarrassed about her karaoke serenade to Luke the night before, and Luke is hurt when he overhears her saying it didn’t mean anything. - i hope that means that he thinks she is saying no and thats what the whole “going their separate ways” thing was and then she says yes and thats what the “rollercoaster” thing meant.

If they do break up and don’t get back together then I’ll cry. I just hope that Ausiello is hiding something from us. Like them getting back together? It’d be sad if they break up though, especially since Hale Bale Maze was such a great Rogan episode.
Maybe the “roller-coaster” thing was a clue.. Because it goes UP - the proposal. Down - the break up. LOOP AROUND - changing her mind. I hope so.

wait maybe before rory’s graduation rory and logan decide to break up just because they know they’ll both be going their separate ways because of jobs (logan-cali & rory-iowa)…so maybe because of their separation Logan decides to propose to rory at her graduation party(!)

After this week’s episode, I’m more confused by this than ever. I mean, yeah, Logan’s a little confused. But he’s also doing all the right things by Rory. And he’s making it very easy for them to stay together. So unless some dramatic outside event occurs in their relationship, I don’t understand why they’d break up.

If rory and logan brake up this will be a horrible end to the season/show. Rory will last be shown in the season (possibly ever) upset and hurt. i hope the brakeup is before then rory & logan become married in the end. if this is the episode of the show then we want rory and lor to b happy.

In my opinion he proposes and then she breaks up with him, and think that because sometimes she’s just like her mother, and we all know that Lorelai was proposed a lot of times and never actually get to the altar.
So I think rory is going to be fricked up with the question and then logan will get mad and the break up with her!

Apr 19, 2007 at 3:14 pm
ok so heres what i think. The person who rory dates is a total controversy. basically its a four way split between dean-lovers, jess-fans, marty-followers, and logan…people. idk im not that creative. so if they ended the show w/ rory being with one of the guys, 1/4 of the fans will be happy and the rest wont be. so in order to make NO one happy they’ll end the show w/ rory single. this is the best way to do it i think because that way people can still dream on how her life will end up…..will she go to a newspaper in philly and end up with jess. will she move back to stars hollow for a little while and get back together w/ dean………..whatever you want to imagine. im sorry to say but i think this may be the end of Rogan.

I absolutely hate these breakup spoilers! I mean, Rory and Logan have been written as a couple that really belongs together. All I can say is, if there is a season 8 and R/L are broken up, I’m done with this show since this relationship was one of the few worthwhile things left.

Oh! I hope they break up. They just seem to be at different places in their life, and need to be independent for a while. Logan seems like an amazing REAL boyfriend, but for tv, he’s a little too boring for me lately. So I’m hoping they do break up! But all of those options mentioned under the post don’t seem out of the question either! Such suspense…

Im pretty sure there are way more fans that are going for Logan than Dean and Marty combined. The fansection for Jess might be pretty high, but Rory has made her decision about him several times. They’re better off as future step-cousins.
Plus, there were a lot of fans out there for Christopher and he didnt end up with Lorelai. Just like Lane didn’t end up with Dave.

The writers are so confusing. Hale Bale Maze they show Logan as the perfect boyfriend who can have a heart to heart with his girlfriend’s mother. And he supports Rory in her choices.
And this scene:

Apr 19, 2007 at 7:55 pm
I think the proposal will be a matter of Rory not feeling prepared and ready for marriage, therefore she’ll say no to Logan, and of course, he will take it badly and end the relationship.
I can also see it going the way of her wanting to focus on her career, however that seems unlikely since in Hale Bale Maze one of the main points they make to each other is that despite each other’s career moves and wherever it takes them, they won’t let it get in the way.
Given that evidence, I think it will just be Rory isn’t personally prepared for a marriage yet. Maybe she doesn’t consider herself grown-up enough yet to handle a marriage, which honestly, would be a wise move on her part because she probably isn’t. She’s getting close, but she’s still not quite their…
For example, when she phases Logan out after he goes to Las Vegas, she doesn’t automatically break up with him. She simply yells at him and makes him realize he was being immature. And once she feels she’s made her point she let’s him know that she’s proud of him, in a tough love sort of way.
That’s just one sign that she’s getting close to being ready for marriage. However, she won’t be ready when Logan proposes, apparently.

What about those of us who don’t actually care, as long as it’s a consistent and engaging storyline? That’s a 5-way split. :)
So to us, it doesn’t matter who she ends up with, as long as she’s happy and fulfilled in the end, living the life she’s worked so hard to achieve. Right now, it seems she’s working so hard to achieve a relationship with Logan. And it’s working. So what changes?

Come on guys!!
Logan is a jerk!
He’s not right for Rory!
He cheated on her, since they started to date Rory got into trouble, he’s a rich, spoiled, immature boy, and she is a very simple, independent, mature girl!
I like the idea of Rory end up alone, she’s going to start her life now, a career, and she needs to start all alone, by her own, without a trouble boy around her, messing with her head, and life, a boy who doesn’t know what to do with his life.
….I miss Jess!

JESS ISNT COMING BACK! rory decided a long time ago tht she does not want jess back. she wants logan right now and season 8 should have logan in it. hes right for her. rory ending up single is not going to make her happy if you havent noticed almost every time in the show rory has had a boyfriend and when she hasnt shes been upset. rory and logan need to be together at the end of the season/show.

The rumor mill is flaying lately with talk of the proposal/breakup, and I must say that the breakup would make things interesting. But only if there’s going to be the ‘condensed’ eighth season. My guess is that something will happen, they’ll break up, then he’ll surprise her by proposing. As for the tlak of him not being in the season finale, he’s also mentioned in conversation between Lorelai and Rory. I think that thep roducers are doin that on purpose to get people believing that they really are breaking up.
As far as Logan love goes, I’m filled with it!

I am pretty mad about the way they are handling all of this– after having them so happy and in love in Hay Bale Maze, they’re going to wrench them apart three episodes later?
I think I could have accepted a break-up if it had been developed better, but this is just slapdash and silly. ASP would’ve known how to at least write a poignant and acceptable break-up, but of course, ASP also could’ve written a season seven that didn’t entirely blow.

I think:
1. Logan proposes to Rory after grad ceremony.
2. Rory is surprised and cannot accept.
3. They break up angrily.
paula
Apr 21, 2007 at 4:36 pm
I’m surprised so many people want them to stay together. I think that anyone in Rory’s situation (graduating from a fancy school, a world of opportunities ahead of them, the love for travel and the yearning to achieve her goals) finds a relationship very conflictive. Even in the best relationships, if there are other things that must be achieved before settling down, people break up. I hope that the writers do realize this. Having them be in a long-distance relationship is not only tedious to work into a show (note Logan in London episodes) it is also unrealistic.
Furthermore, while Lorelai seemed appeased by Logan in the last episode, she has never been okay with this relationship. Rory knows that. Logan knows that. If the writers want to be true to the show, they will let the two girls be. Happy. And in pursuit of their goals. Is that not what we have always wanted for Rory? Dean held her back and didn’t fit into her world. Jess never treated her with the respect she needs. Logan is at a point where he needs to figure out his life now that he needs to make it on his own.
It is better they part. I would be incredibly upset if they are not true to the intelligence and to the drive of Rory. I know that for about three seasons now she has not been the greatest character, but at least they do her justice at the end (if this indeed is the end).

I am torn. I love ROGAN, like you wouldn’t believe and I am going to hate to see them break up. On the other hand I do think that her saying yes will force her to compromise her career goals at least somewhat. Rory’s character hasn’t really being doing to prepare her for being that great overseas correspondent she claims to long to be and I could not have even pictured her doing anything like that before Logan came into her world.
The one thing that I would really hate to see is that after 7 seasons, Lorelai and Rory still end up alone. Each of them has struggled with relationships and both deserve to show that thier characters have evolved. Do we really want the show to end with them being the two single Gilmore girls who are actually about to part as Rory goes off on her own and Lorelai stays in Star’s Hollow with a mess of a love life? I don’t.
I would love nothing more than to see Rory and Logan engaged, and Lorelai, happy with someone, seriously, its time for her to have a successful relationship. I would have liked for things to have worked out with Chris but that is not going to happen. I am not a Lorelai/Luke together fan, but I like Luke’s character. Let’s let them be friends shall we? That’s where they thrive.
As for a season 8. [sigh] No Matt, because Rogan will be no more, No Milo, because for him the ship has sailed, Rory off somewhere else, Lorelai still in S.H. lonely and Richard recovering from massive heart surgery with no one to run his business. I guess the show will revolved around the townies since there will be none of the characters that are in Rory’s entourage their either. I am not sure that is something I am getting excited to watch. I have really not like Lorelai’s character much this season save for her interaction with Gigi, I thought that was great. Oh and the way she was judging Logan in the last episode so had my blood boiling. It sucked how she was only that way to him when Rory wasn’t within ear shot. Sneaky. But I’m glad they FINALLY talked.
OK, I’ve gone on enough. I will finish with, I am really going to miss the show I have grown to love.
paula
Apr 21, 2007 at 10:45 pm
You are like my complete opposite. I truly appreciated that Lorelai was giving Logan a hard time. Logan has been a source of much distress for her daughter and she has bit her toungue many a times. Lorelai thrives as a character when she is being the mother figure instead of the lonely spinster.
There is something to be said about them being alone. What is so wrong with being alone instead of in a bad relationship? Rory is twenty two. How many 22 year olds are engaged and make it? I would be so incredibly disappointed if she was to be engaged. That would be like a failure to her character–the independence, the desires to go all over the world and see things as they are happening. I was watching the the episode of her first day at Chilton. I miss that Rory. She was strong and interesting.
I would be happier with an ending that had them alone and in a good place to continue with their lives, rather than a contrived happy ending where we know that Luke and Lorelai have not worked things out, because how can you when there has been so much hurt? And a 22 year old couple engaged when there is still so much to do with their lives.
What I have loved about Rory, always, has been how even though she was wonderfully sweet and human, she was wonderfully driven and independent minded. She did not need anyone to make her happy or validate her. Rory saying no to the engagement is the smartest things the writers have done all season (I mean, if we believe the spoilers). It is the return to a Rory that did not fall apart when Dean broke up with her a second time. The Rory that did not pine after Jess when he left. The Rory who left for Europe when she committed a grave mistake in sleeping with someone else’s husband.
I guess I feel that those who want a ‘happy ending’ with a wedding and all are sorely misunderstanding the characters. Two strong women who do not settle for less, not two women who are love sick.
paula
Apr 21, 2007 at 10:50 pm
One last thing…
I do think that Rory loves Logan. I think Rory would love to have the happy ending. But I have been in her place…where you wonder if having a relationship is hindering you. When you know that even though the love is so deep, there are things you must do before you can say yes. I don’t know. Hah, this is a tv character. I guess I just identify with her in this situation.
Lauren K.
Apr 22, 2007 at 12:59 pm
I am sooo with you!! Rory is young and needs to be independent to start her life the way she feels is right. Logan will just get in the way of all the decisons she needs to make to get out in reality. If she’s going to be with anyone from her past it should JESS!! She still loves him, that episode when they kissed, Jess still loves her, she just didn’t want to cheat on Logan. Everyone should know that Jess is perfect for Rory!! If she is going the end with a boyfriend at all it should be Jess!
Honestly?
Apr 22, 2007 at 6:16 pm
Ok — a breakup isn’t always sad (or at least traumatic) when it’s what’s best for those involved. And how would a young, potentially disastrous and unhappy marriage be a happy way to end a series that isn’t about romance but is about generational influence, mother-daughter relationships, and working with those things to construct your own identity?

You’re outlook on life at this point is not good, I am in a family that hates my husband and I told them a long time ago that they didn’t have to like him, but they have to at least tolerate him otherwise they could get lost. And to be honest his family hates me also but they acccept me because he loves me. And our live together are great!!!
As for Rory and Logan I won’t get my hopes up if their is a half season they might find a way to get them back together. I wish L,L alot of luck because that is going to one hell of a ride.

I don’t think Rory is in a bad relationship. How is her relationship with Logan bad? And since when does it have to be a career or love. Where is this notion that Rory can’t have both coming from? I would not want Rory to sacrifice her career and I don’t think that being with Logan would cause her to do that.
I also don’t think that they both have to be at the same point in their lives when the show ends. Rory can be happy in a relationship and Lorelai not, what is wrong with that?
Also about the Rory from season one she grew up. For her to act and respond to things the same way she did 6 years ago would be a little weird. I mean the things she faced in high school pale in comparison to the life choices she’s had since then. Growth is good. Rory had made some BAD decisions throughout the course of the show and they helped me feel like the character was real.
I also don’t like that things didn’t work out with Chris and Lorelai, I think that whole debacle was poorly done but hey, that is for another time.

I Love Rory and Logan together, of course I did like Dean and her when they were together, but I agree that they didn’t belong together after High School, and Logan brings out the best in her and she is really good for him too. I mean, look how understanding and stablizing he was for her when her Gpa was in the Hospital? He was really amazing that day. As was Luke for Lorelei. I like both Christopher and Luke, but I think that Lorelei belongs with Luke. And like someone up there said, as long as the character is happy with someone, then that is good. I think that Logan and Luke do that for the Gilmore Girls. And also, I don’t think that you have to choose between career and love, and many 22 year olds–can be married, fulfilled and very happy at that age. I got married when I was nearly 22, and my husband and I have been blissfully happy for nearly 5 years….it can happen.

Rory should be independent after graduating but at the same time I would hate to see her and Logan (after putting 3 years of joy and some heartache into their relationship) just be over like that. I really like Logan and Rory together. I think that they should have their relationship but long distance so they both can have their careers and later on down the road they can get married. So she could say yes and say but lets have a long engagement.
I also think that Lorelai and Luke never stopped loving each other and really the only thing that stands in their way as far as the past, is Christopher issues. I know those are big issues too. They should talk them out and move on with life together.
I know it probably sounds too clear cut to be that way and that is probably true but that is what I would like to see.
As far as bringing in a Season 8 without Alexis, I say do it. Lauren Graham is a strong actress and she could easily keep that show going and correspond with rory via phone (as though she is still in the picture), if that is what fans want.

I live in Europe and am only in the beginning of season 6. But I have been reading spoilers and recaps to see where Rory and Logan are heading. I am sad to read that they might be splitting up. Hopefully the spoilers got it wrong.
Over the years we have seen Lorelai’s love life being a big mess. In love. Out of love. Engaged. Single. Engaged again. Single. Married. Divorced. And then single again. A big mess……… Have almost lost track of her boyfriends.
I would like to think that Rory would have a little more stability in her life. To me Rory and Logan seem to be right for each other. Rory have brought stability and accountability into Logan’s life and he has shown her that there is more to life than just books. They have a nice balance.
In season 8 (PLEASE…….) I would like to see Rory and Logan headed for a future together. I am not sure what will happen to Lorelai, but it would be nice to see her happy. It would be nice to end the show knowing that both Rory and Lorelai will hopefully live happily ever after.
I will be looking with anticipation to see what will happen, and then decide if it will be worth seeing the rest of the show, or if I should just quit now. I want my happy ending for Rory and Logan, and if that doesn’t happen then to h… with it.

Here’s what I think. When the show ends either both the Gilmore Girls will be single or in a relationship not one single and the other married, engaged, etc. I think Rory says no, they break up and then in the 8th season, which there probably is going to be, they get back togather. It is too late to bring in anybody new in the last and short season and Jess and Dean are NOT coming back. They both have very successful shows and Milo has stated multiple times he will not come back. It is Logan or no one for Rory in the 8th season. If it ends this year we end with a hint of L and L and R and L getting back together. If it goes to next season it with by Luke and Lor. and Rory and Logan.

Well I can’t believe that it is coming down to this. I just read the spoiler page and it turns out that we won’t know if the season finale is the series finale. The holdup is the actresses themselves - Lauren Graham and Alexis Bloedel. This show has become a part of my life for the last 5 years and I find it to be one of the only decent things on the tv to watch anymore and I can’t believe that they are not thinking of atleast doing a shortened Season 8. They say it will come down to the wire and they won’t know until two days after the season finale (or series) whether it will go on or not. I just hope they make the last episode (if that is what it is going to be) really good. I want Logan and Rory (or atleast a promise of them) to end up together and Luke and Lorelai to end up together (or a promise of them as well). It is weird but if you watch the clip from the last show Lorelai? Lorelai? with her singing, she is almost saying goodbye to rory for good and the show. I don’t know I am just babbling at this point because I am upset that they are thinking of taking this wonderful show off the air. I say CW and WB get your act together, as well as the actresses and realize how many people love to watch you every week.

Milo should come back but since hero is here and his very sucessful there the percentage of that is slim but hopely they would consider him as a guest star even though there might not be a gg8
i think that there would be a gilmore girls 8 since the last one is a cliff hanger
there’s should be a bunch of ideas of what’s going to happen next
i think rory should either stay single meet someone else with jess’s personalty
or jess and rory should be together which is impossible becuz of hero’s but u got to admite they do make a good couple their both short
lol
just kiddin
but there can be a lot that would happen if they bring jess back or maybe dean but i ain’t the one to say since i don’t like dean or logan they both suck and the fact that there won’t be a season 8
hopefully there is but it dosn’t look good for that since the actors felt different on season 7 when they did what felt uncomfortable for their characters on the show but they should really consider of doing it again
i can say a lot more about this issue but it seems pointless if there isn’t going to be a next season but oh well
they should at least think of milo if there is going to be another season
