All I can think is “The Gambler” song by Kenny Rogers as I watch all of the clips.

“You gotta know when to hold ‘em,
    Know when to fold ‘em,
    Know when to walk away,
    Know when to run.

    You never count your money
While you’re sittin’ at the table
They’ll be time enough for countin’
    When the day is done”

Unfortunately, negotiations don’t always go well. And I blame the show ending on the agents of the two top stars. They thought they had more power than they did and advised their clients to hold out for “more”.

The CW didn’t end up being “cash winnings” for Lauren or Alexis. One more year of good money for a great show would have been better than this…….and for the other 150 people on the crew that Lauren mentioned she cared about.

They are all out of work now. Too sad. :)

    Oh well, I fold.

Even before the merge, The WB has been busy alienating fans of all kinds. I personally loved Everwood. I felt it was one of the few QUALITY shows on tv at all. Then WB cancelled it with no notice.

Then The WB cancelled Seventh Heaven - again a QUALITY show that does not promote sex, vengence, revenge, loose (or should I say LACK of) morals.

Now The WB/CW has cancelled Gilmore Girls. I personally will boycot The CW and any/all advertisers. This gives me that last show to make note of all advertisers and send them a copy of this statement.

I hope more people interested in QUALITY TV follow in my steps. If more people tell the advertisers what they think of the policies and practices of the corporation who is promoting their products/servies, maybe we can have quality shows left on.

I personally feel most of the tv shows now are pure crap. Reality TV???????? Give me a break, or at least give me credit for some intelligence. I have already boycotted ALL REALITY TV SHOWS!! I do not watch any of these so called “Reality TV” shows as they have already been proven to be lies and “drama”. Drama is one thing, but to promote the worst of human nature is depravity at ITS worst. Someday somebody has got to stand up and ask what happened to morals. What happened to watching programs on tv that uplift and enhance morals? What is happening to our society and when are people going to realize that the crap they watch and allow their children to watch affects and EFFECTS us all?

Sorry for the rant, but I am tired of watching trash. The WB/CW started out showing decent television shows until they “got a following”. Now that they have this following, they dont care about those that gave them their numbers. Congratulations CW . . . if Gilmore Girls is cancelled, you will lose a very voluble customer. I did not say, nor mean valuable, I said and meant VOLUABLE. I will forward this to all advertisers and I will promote boycotting of these companies and their products and services.

Thank you for making me angry enough to stand up and say something!!!

Argh! That #$^& theme song again. I’ve hated that thing for seven years. My biggest regret is that Hep Alien never covered it. I would have loved to hear something with a sort of New Pornographers - meets - The Stooges - meets Wolfmother vibe to it. Oh well.

I’ll miss the show, but I won’t miss the theme song.

i am mot a emotional person especially when it comes to tv shows but when i heard last week that this is the end of gilmore girls i couldnt get through the episode with out tearing up. i have every season on dvd but im not sure that i want to have the last season on dvd because i dont want to relive what i believe compares to the death of a friend.this show has been there for alot of us and it was escape from reality that wasnt overly dramatic . what kind of world is that takes a show like this away especially one that is such a good show for mothers and daughters to watch together .

For tomorrow I want to share with the actors and fans of GG the Rebecca Lavelle song My Heart Is Like A River
I don´t know how I can share the music, this is the letter
My heart is like a river
My heart is like these hills
    They never change
    I never change
    and I never will

You called and I came running
You cried and now I’m here
    So hold this faith
    accept our faith
    These are little fears

We have enough to guide us
    We have enough to last
    We’re not alone
    we never were
    you and I aren’t lost

    Oh hold me very tightly
    Hold me fast and strong
    I am your love
    Won’t stray from you
    You and I belong

My heart is like a river
My heart is like these hills
    They never change
    I never change
    and I never will

What I want to know is - did Amy get her “last 2 lines” that she has said she knew from the beginning?

  • Meme
    May 14, 2007 at 8:03 pm

I’ve decided I’m NOT going to watch the last show……I’m going to let it go before the plug gets pulled.

I have the prior years dvd’s and might watch them later in the year. But for now, like Lauren and Alexis, this show is gone as of last week.

Was nice during the good times….that’s the way I want to remember it. :)

And Chris, no….Amy’s last words are not included.

  • Erin
    May 14, 2007 at 8:45 pm

why should amy get to say her last words -she doesnt deserve to.. she abandoned her show and im sorry but that is something i will both never forgive and never understand. She left the show coz 1 million wasnt good enough, honey, get a grip! im so mad that she left… but she did, and now i dont care that she didnt get to say the last words.

Sad day—great article with Scott P. —he mentions the passion was gone on the set with several cast members—-re-read an article from 2006 where ASP says that she and DP had gone for several years with one year contracts and they just didn’t want to worry every 300 days if they would have a job—I think with the success of the series they had earned that. In my opinion if the “CW” keeps them on, all this is avoided. I believe Alexis and Lauren wouls have has more enthusiasm to stay. From what I’ve read, they had a 13 episode deal ready to go but Alexis and Laure then proposed 8 episodes–the network just said forget the whole thing—if the original writers, and creators were still on board the two leads wouls have more apt to stay.Let’s face it, GG was still a good show but there was a spark of creativity missing. ASP said she knew how she wanted it to end and would have led into it with two years of shows. Hence seasons 7 and 8 and we would not have all this.

Why would fans want the GG’s to continue if the creative juices from Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel have run out for this show? It would really be disturbing for me to see them sleep-walk thru an 8th season just because they were paid enormous amounts of money but really didn’t want to be there.

Last evening The King of Queen had a wonderful last episode and the last screen moment said “THANKS FOR THE RIDE”.

My sentiments exactly…it was a great Gilmore Girls ride and I enjoyed every bumpy minutes.

I think the creative juices fizzeled a bit when ASP and DP left. I think that it was getting to a point when the leads wanted to move on at some point soon in any scenerio, but I believe from things I’ve read that they would have been a bit more “juiced” if the creators were still around. The writing was at times okay this season but in my opinon the unique quality of the show had gone.

I don’t really use to send my opinions but I love GG and I think it should have ended with Rory’s and Logan’s engagement party or maybe a couple of years more on their wedding. After all they went through not ending together was very sad for me.

With such a short time left to the show, Luke and Lorelai couldn’t get back together. Another season would have also meant Rory would not have been successful. Can’t have that. The best we could hope for is the one kiss we got, and a start to Rory’s soon to be amazing life. There were a couple of things I would liked to have seen though. I would have loved for Lorelai to thank Luke for being Rory’s Dad for all those years. I would have also liked if at some point in the show the Gilmores somehow find out that Luke was more wealthy than they were.

My opinion to this whole thing, is that it was an all around good episode for a SEASON FINALE not a SERIES FINALE I just dont understand? They should atleast make a season 8 13 or 22 episodes if they did it for seven years why just give up like that? I guess they are quiters? but whatever is done is done. Lorelai and Luke atleast kissed but still not only me put others too probably wish there was atlEast 2 hours so we knew that they actually were together and not only like a kiss to end it. But I am not giving up hope because 7th Heaven did it this year lastyear they said it was the SERIES FINALE but they came back as a shock this year for their actual SERIES FINALE, I hope the “GilmoreGirls” do the same. Why stop @ 7 seasons? Chris wasted this whole season SCREW HIM!

i was so sad when i found out that gilmore girls has ended. i have all the seasons starting from season 1 all the way to season 6. im waiting until season 7 comes out. ill be there to buy it. gilmore girls is the most funniest show i think i have ever watched and it is a shame that they had to end like this. they could make season 8. with how rory is doing at her new job. what happens to loralai and luke. and what happens to christopher and the drandparet=nts. i mean lots of stuff. they didn just have to end on a cliff hanger like that. that makes everyone wonder what is gonna happen nxt. but nithing is gonna happen nxt cause the show is over. i am so sad. this hurts me dearly so.jk. but i love this show and i really hope that it come out with an eighth season. plz!!!!!!
