Alexis Bledel on Letterman Friday
Alexis Bledel will be on Letterman this Friday:
Friday, May 25
Kevin Spacey (Broadway’s "A Moon For The Misbegotten")
Alexis Bledel (I’m Reed Fish)
I am a little surprised they don’t list Gilmore Girls beside her name. Nonetheless, she’s finally getting to promote "I’m Reed Fish", which I will of course support.
Now, Friday episodes are usually taped on Thursday, and there is an "Alexis Project" up to get Gilmore fans there for the taping.
I’m asking any of you who are over the age of 18 who might live around NYC to go to the Ed Sullivan Theater to ask 1) what day this week Alexis is going to tape her appearance on the show and 2) if there are any tickets still available. If you can still get in, then great! Don’t think — book the tickets.
The ticket offices are open on WEEKDAY MORNINGS from 9:30am to 12:30pm and the phone number below is a recording that does NOT foward you to any human voice for ticket information unless tickets are available for that night’s taping(s) of the show.
Please Organize a Save Gilmore ad hoc meeting outside the theater on the taping day — taping generally starts IIRC around 5:00pm ET or so, so arriving around 4pm or earlier would be optimal, but for those of you who can’t, get there as soon as you can. Buy yellow daisies to have delivered to her or someone else who wrangles the audience outside the theater if they are allowed to do this. Print out large season 8 logos and either make your own buttons out of them or just pin the paper print out (cut it out into a circle) onto your shirt or jacket/hoodie and wear them outside the theater as an ID. Give her daisies, give her written letters that you might otherwise send by snail mail. Those of you who arrive during the taping, still try to get flowers and your letters delivered before she leaves from the taping. Take my suggestions for letter-writing ettiquette that I’lll post here again in a few minutes (as soon as I’m finished editing them again). Please remember to politely ask the Letterman crew if you can do this — they might want to make something of it on the show (and if they don’t ask you if they can make something of it on the show, ask them yourselves.) Also, if you’re at least high school age (please, no younger than 16), hang out at Rupert Jee’s Hello, Deli during the taping and have placards in hand, an enlarged Season 8 Mandate Logo pasted on posterboard or cardboard may be all that’s needed.
Send Alexis a message that we want closure on Gilmore Girls!

Hmm, it may be just me, but these a bit “stalker”ish.
She’s promoting a new movie, which is fine. But I don’t think we should ask folks her to stalk her and protest.
It’s not what GG fans are about, is it?
Ok, so maybe Babette might do it. :)

GOOD NEWS FROM AUSIELLO
Question: So, what gives? There is no way you could still be at Fox’s upfront party. Did you track down AS-P, and, if so, what were the final four words she had in mind for Gilmore Girls?— Katrina
Ausiello: OK, here’s the deal: Yes, I tracked her down, but, no, she did not cough up those elusive four words. But wait — there’s more. And it’s good. No, amazing. No, un-frakkin’-believable. Amazing, even. Wait, did I say that already? Well, it’s true. Because just as I was about to brand her a big ol’ promise-breaker right there in front of all those industry types, Amy explained why she couldn’t divulge her long-ago-planned Gilmore ending. (Gilmore fanatics: This is the time in Sprockets when you either lean on a heavy object or just sit down.) In the next year or two, she hopes to make — wait for it — a two-hour Gilmore Girls TV-movie that ties up all those loose threads! I nearly fell over when she said it — especially given what she told me back in December. (BTW, lest you think Amy was pulling my leg, her partner in life and in showbiz, Dan Palladino, confirmed that a GG reunion pic is something they’re interested in pursuing.) And I wasn’t the only one floored by this development. “She said what?” gasped Scott Patterson after I relayed the information to him over the phone. “I didn’t think she would be interested in doing something like that. But if she says she is, I would seriously consider it.” Alexis Bledel was equally stunned. “A Gilmore Girls reunion?” she said with a laugh. “That’s certainly not something I had thought of doing. That’s really funny, I have no idea how I would feel in a few years. I don’t know, I’m sure the script Amy would write would be great, but I guess I’d have to read it and see how I felt at the time.” Last but not least, Lauren Graham e-mailed me late last night to say, “Could be a fun idea if everyone wanted to do it. I would do it just to get the four final words out of Amy. They torture me.” Stand by for a comment from Warner Bros. big cheese Peter Roth. In the meantime, head over to the Ask Ausiello Discussion Thread and start brainstorming campaign slogans!

I think this plan is approaching the point where your typical Gilmore Girls fan has to go on and add a “Deranged” to her name tag. Please leave this woman alone.

Isn’t this exactly the kind of stuff that Ms. Bledel abhors. She didn’t like to being approached while shooting scenes when doing Gilmore Girls (or so I have read here).
I do believe this would be extremely unkind to her.

The only thing i can say is that….let’s wait to see what she’s going to tell on Letterman’s.

Hey Arieanna,
What’s the best way to get scoop to you? This information has been available for over a week and I posted as such in the comments section two separate times. Obviously the comments aren’t an effective way to get information to you. Which I guess means you won’t read this either. Oh well…

Slar, I was actually away for 4 days. I had some things pre-scheduled to post so it would stay active, but I was not here to read the comments. I do read them all :)

to be honest im not surprised that Gilmore girls is not listed next to her name, i guarntee that she has informed them that she doesnt want to talk about gilmore girls and i bet it will be hard to get anything out of her about it. its unfortunate but i think shes just over the whole thing i am disapointed that she hasnt said anything cause lets remember that this was her big break

I like the idea, but i think it is just a bit stalkerish, i mean, if she doesn’t want to talk about Gilmore Girls, then she doesn’t have to, we should not force her into something she doesn’t want to do or say… i mean, that is definitly not what a true Gilmore Girls fan would do…well maybe they would, but we have to give one of our Gilmore Girls her space, and wait until she wants to talk about it. No matter how long it takes…we just have to wait…

Well, in the GG world we should certainly give Rory some space.. but here, in the real world, I truly beleave Alexis should give us some information, at least from her perspective, to clear our minds about this ending thing.. I am brasilian, and I love the show (thanks to torrent pals).. and I think she should recognize the power this show had worldwide, and simply talk to us!
