What’s left of Stars Hollow
Almost as soon as the announcement that Gilmore Girls was cancelled came, the set of Gilmore Girls was being torn down.
Here is what remained on the day after the Gilmore Girls finale:
Miss Patty’s, minus playground
What’s left of town square - the gazebo
An empty and blank Luke’s

I’m excited about a Gilmore Girls reunion, but I don’t think I can wait a year or two to know what the last four words are. Ever since I heard about them, I’ve been dying to know what they are!!!! This is killing me…

Actually, the only major tear-downs in Stars Hollow will be the standing interior sets. Although some small additions will go, the majority of Stars Hollow exteriors is comprised of standing sets on the Warner Bros. backlot that have been there for years and will remain for years to come. I suspect any Gilmore fan taking a tour of W.B. a year from now would have no problem identifying the majority of Stars Hollow landmarks.
And just think! I’m sure there will be a major prop auction in coming months, and a great chance for us fans to own a piece of Gilmore history!
Doubtless… if there’s the possibility of a movie, a lot of recognizable items will be held , but it should still be a fun auction!

The pics are sad but being there in person was even worst! I visited the backlot tour on May 17th. They have moved the Stars Hollow population sign and Luke’s dinner sign to the Museum on the backlot. However the Chuppah was still in the garage which made for a great photo and to have my picture taken on the porch was a great way to say goodbye. You may notice in the second picture tables with stuff on it well that was the Gilmore Girls Yard Sale—free stuff. Misc props were being given away to employees for free like pillows, purses, blankets, baskets, scarves, knitting boxes, and all the bags from all the different stores—well we were very lucky and our guide let us stop and we scored on some props. My Gilmore Girl good-bye was complete with a Luke’s dinner bag–order receipt still attached. But I would gladly give it back for a 2 hour reunion! Here’s hoping that all our Gilmore Girls good vibes will lead to that reunion special!

The pictures really show us how final it really is. It hurts to see our Stars Hollow gone. Only in reruns and in our minds will we see the town again.

It makes my heart hurt seeing these pictures. I just started to get some kind of control on the crying and here it comes again. It’s feels like there has been a death in the family. This show hit home in so many ways, it will greatly be missed. Reality is so harsh!

J.A. - interior sets are broken down into components
for re-use for the most part. If they do the special, the backlot will only take a little sprucing up, but they’ll need to reassemble the interiors, and they won’t be “exact”, close enough - but not precise as props, etc. may not be available anymore and things like wallpaper to match the originals probably won’t be available.
And for all you out there dying to own your own piece of the show - Lorelai’s Jeep is being auctioned on eBay! $35,000 starting bid, which seems a little steep, but it only has 1200 miles on it!

The CW has a contest on their web for a free trip to visit the set of Gilmore Girls, so I wonder if that has been canceled along with the show. Not that there is much left to see. Would still like to go if I had a chance. Anyone know???????????

These pictures really made me sad. Knowing that the town we have watched for seven long years doesn’t exist anymore is really tough. But let’s just hope that the two hour movie thing will actually happen! :]

Aw that breaks my heart! I’m from Australia and I was hoping to go all the way to America next year with my best friend just so we could do the WB tour. As if they tore it down, it looks so lonely and sad. I want to cry. It was cool how Taylors’ stupid stop sign with the huge yellow instructions was still there though. Has the auction happened yet?

Gilmore Girls has been my favorite show ever since I first saw it on the WB… (before the “CW” days)… it was love at first sight. I love the soundtrack, Lorelai’s so hip, Luke’s Diner is my dreamplace, and Lane is great. I love Lorelai and Rory’s house! I want it! haha. Sad to see it all taken down, but we can always hope for a Reunion *cross your fingers* ; )

It the best and my favourite show along with “friends”. It is sad to go back to reality. It is really socks. We should donate enough money to keep this lovely town alive. Thank you for everything, Gilmore Girls!!!
