David Rosenthal moving to Men in Trees

Rumor has it on TV Guide that David Rosenthal will be moving to Men in Trees for next season:

Rumor: Men in Trees has hired former Gilmore Girls exec producer David Rosenthal.
Fact. He’ll be a consulting producer, serving as MIT creator Jenny Bicks’ "number two."

What do you think of that? I don’t even watch MIT, so it’s hard for me to comment.

While I definitely think the 7th Season of GG was not as good as it could be, I really do not think it was DR’s fault. I think some of the contributions he made were good. He wrote the episode “Lorelai? Lorelai?” - That serenade scene was better than any other scene ever! He was stuck with the storyline that ASP and DP left. And I think he was pressured by the network and by Lauren Graham to pursue the Chris & Lorelai storyline a bit. If it were up to LG, it would have been pursued even more!

He wanted to bring L&L back together much sooner - and he wanted them married and with child by the end of the season, but the network wouldn’t allow him to do that.

The last half was much better than the 1st half, and Episodes 7.18-7.20 were some of my all time favorites! The series finale sucked but I don’t think it was all his fault, he had to accomplish a lot in that one episode.

I think he could do good given the chance and if he was able to connect with the main voice.

I love Men In Trees and hope that if he does write for the show that he doesnt flush it down the loo!!! its a great show and i would hate for the writing to go way down hill

I am just glad to know that MIT is coming back. It has been off the air for so long I figured it had gone the way with every other show I like.

i think us GG fans have a right to be against DR… come on he followed the Chris and Lorelai storyline FOREVER… THE WORST STORY LINE EVER WRITTEN IN THE ENTIRE WORLD… SUCKS SUCKS SUCKED… oh how i thought DR would never let it end!

Aaaargh….he ruined my beloved Gilmore Girl…and the finally i found something i actually like to watch..Men in trees, and now he is gonna killa that one to? this plot sound like a very scary one….

i think one of the reasons that i am falling for men in trees is that it has the humor (sex and the city - hated the show, but loved the ironic humor in it) and the quirky charachters (gilmore girls) …..there are paralels between Stars Hollow and Elmo
