Kelly Bishop praises Lauren Graham
Kelly Bishop, one of the most adamant Gilmore Girls actors asking for the return of Gilmore Girls (as another season/movie), gave an interview recently in Auburn. She mentioned how much she truly respects Lauren Graham:
But for the last six years, she has been playing the starchy, patrician Emily Gilmore, mother of Lorelai on TV’s "Gilmore Girls." In a brief offstage conversation, she said their off-screen bond was closer than the on-screen connection, where constant friction was the norm between Emily and Lorelai. "She (Lauren Graham) was truly my daughter," says Bishop.
Bishop also says she has great respect for Graham, putting her in the same acting pantheon as Cate Blanchett.
Very sweet comments - Kelly is the opposite of Emily on the Gilmore Girls, to be sure!

Perhaps to Kelly Bishop, Lauren Graham is the kind of daughter she never had in her personal life and enjoys her to that degree as well as professional & seemingly, Lauren Graham is on the same wave length with her. Well-paired I would say.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Kelly Bishop and her husband. They are customers in my store, and let me tell you, they were the sweetest, most down-to-earth people. I work in an area where the rich customers are sometimes very unpleasant, and to have someone famous come in -who was also nice as could be - was just great. She willingly gave me an autograph as well! I feel very honored to have met Kelly and her husband.
