Gilmore Girls snubbed by Emmy’s
The full Emmy nominations list came out this morning for the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards. Gilmore Girls is not nominated in any category as a show, or for its actors. Most people were expecting the snub again, despite the fan base rallying behind Lauren Graham for the underdog vote to get nominated.
I don’t really understand the reason why Gilmore Girls has always been snubbed. With actresses as talented as Emily Bishop and Lauren Graham, it’s quite a shock. I can understand the show getting looked over because it seems to balance on the comedy vs. drama line, and not easily fit into either, but the actresses getting continually looked over is a significant mistake. Over the years, I believe both Lauren and Kelly should have received nominations for their amazing performances.

Had GG’s been on ABC, NBC, CBS or HBO it quite possibly wouldn’t have been ignored. It is all about ratings & money it brings in and it is really too bad, because KB & LG both did outstanding jobs.

In terms of best series, I think it just missed its window of opportunity. Season 3 was its best chance of getting a Best Of award, but there was stiff competition. Can you honestly stake a claim for seasons 4-6, much less 7?
LG was destined to be snubbed. Best Actress is a popularity contest and splitting the marquee with AB didn’t help. She’ll get the last laugh. Felicity Huffman was great in Sports Night, but she didn’t really get recognized until Desperate Housewives. I predict a similar career arc for Graham.
KB’s snub in season 5 is probably my biggest disappointment, but again it is such a popularity contest.

I am not surprised by the snub.
The Emmys really are a joke and I no longer consider them a barometer of anything.

Not even a nomination? Sheesh. I guess I understand the show getting looked over this year, what with the new network and new writers and stuff, but none at all? Ugh.
There is another site that was made to get another season 8. This site is listed on the right side. Just mentioning. It’s called Save the Lorelais.

I love GG and I really wish it had been nominated, but am not surprised because season 7 really wasn’t there best year and the show has NEVER been nominated I am still SAD! my other favorite show in NBC’s “Scrubs” and they weren’t nominated either so am not too happy!
I do hope “Boston Legal” wins best drama!

…I don’t feel sorry for GG not been nominated for this Emmy edition, cause the 7th season wasn’t GG; it was horrible! A crapy season! The REAL GG is the GG from Amy. Our funny, smart, perfect GG from Amy.
If GG never won an Emmy with the amazing producing, directing and writting of Amy and Dan Palladino in it, GG would never win an Emmy with DR now.
If GG was nominated for the Emmy this year, i would kill myself!
The only thing i feel sorry for, is that either Lauren or Kelly weren’t nominated. Even with this crapy season, they were amazing in the show; they hold things together and handled with the situation pretty well.
…I feel sorry for Amy’s GG never won an Emmy…

Emmy sucks!!!
I don´t really saw ONE CW show in the list .. and I really think there are some good ones besides GG
Com`on .. are you serious? 3 nominations for the sopranos in just one category .. its nonsense
I didn´t expect gg to be nominated as best dram/comedy .. but I really wanted lauren and kelly to get a chance
damn it .. in the end the sopranos and grey`s are going to win … sorry girls but i can´t stand these shows

it really sucks that gg isnt nominated for anything.. again.. or the actors in it! they deserve it the most. and even thought the writing of the 7th season wasnt the greatest one THE ACTORS STILL PULLED IT OFF you people really need to start realizing that and they definitely deserve an award for their talents and efforts and the amount of work they put into the show the past 7 years. so it is upsetting that they are not nominated for any emmys

I can’t see the allure of Meredith Grey. She is the most uninteresting, dull, and least talented person on the show. The rest of the cast is stellar, but she brings the whole show down. Too bad it’s her namesake.
