“Jezebel James” Cut Back
According to Hollywood Reporter & TV Guide, Amy Sherman-Palladino’s midseason half-hour comedy "The Return of Jezebel James" is being cut down.
FOX has cut the episode order from 13 episodes down to 7 - including the pilot.
The series, from creator/executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino and Regency TV, stars Parker Posey as a single successful book editor who learns that she is physically unable to conceive and asks her estranged younger sister (Lauren Ambrose) to carry her baby for her.
“We have always planned to launch ‘The Return of Jezebel James’ in midseason, and seven episodes are all we need to allow us to program the series through the current broadcast season,” Fox said Friday. “ We are big fans of Amy Sherman-Palladino, Dan Palladino and the extremely talented cast and are looking forward to airing the show."
Given the timing, it’s more than likely that all 7 episodes have been shot and the network is basically pulling the plug on the show.
The announcement of the cut came on the same day as the announcement that Amy Sherman-Palladino will be producing a feature film with Sarah Jessica Parker. More on this growing controversy when I get it!
One bonus of this sad news: Amy might just have the time to script the Gilmore Girls final season / movie that she wants to!

i want a gilmore girls movie sooo bad. we should find out how to contact amy sherman palladino and get like tons of people to write letters and stuff to send to her to say that we want a movie. because i remember reading something that said it’d be likely if they saw a lot of interest in ti.

there HAS to be a movie…..or something! gilmore girls CANNOT end like it did!!! in my opinion, the finale was not as good as i expected.

That suck for her.But I not fan of this show,but I not watch the new show yet.I not sure if LG and Scott Patterson can doing make for Gilmore Girls movies,but not sure about Alexis Bledel yet.

Awwww, i feel so sad for Amy!!
That’s not fair to her and Daniel!
…Amy is the best and without her….GG died!
…I just wish and hope she really do the GG movie! We need to know how Gg ends…we need to know the real finale of GG.
…GG ended in season 6. And we have to know how that wonderful show really ends!

Sorry to hear this. I was looking forward to seeing ASP write something other than Gilmore Girls and see how it progressed - I don’t think 7 shows will be any indication because sometimes is takes 2 years for a sitcom to take off.
I look forward to seeing any project the Palladinos put on.

I think Amy&Dan should do it right or not at all. Why a movie? Why an end? There are too many questions open they could never answer in one more season or a movie. I think the show should go on for at least 4 more seasons. I hope my petition shows that many fans think that too. Gilmore Girls is a one time special show. No other show can beat GG!!! Why not like David Palladino said:”break Bonanzas record.” 16 seasons GG!!! I think an end would make things worse, because it’s years too early!! I love GG but I don’t look an end! It would be sad to see it, it would be in my opinion the biggest mistake ever. 7th Heaven is not that successful like GG and got 11 seasons. I’m against an end in any form (movie/season). At least 11 seasons deserves GG. AT LEAST! Amy&Dans of course! Please come back&at least 4 more amazing GG seasons.

OMG!!!! There totally has to be a GG movie– better yet, I agree with Lara Joy. There shouldn;t be an ending, because there’s WAY too many questions to be answered in a movie, or even in a whole nother season. I think they should just make like 4 or 5 more seasons. Why not break the record?? Go for 17!! There would at least be one viewer: ME!! I will stick with GG til the very end, even if the end has already come!!:( I used to watch 7th Heaven, and GG is SOOOOO much better than that, and it had 11 seasons. GG is a once- in- a- life- time tv show. There will never be a show that even comes close to being as great and as magnificent as GG, even Jezebel James. It’s good, but not like GG. Nothing will ever compare to GG. It was, and is too perfect. AS-P, I LOVE YOU, and if I could meet one person, it would be you. All of the characters in GG have influenced me in every way possible. More than you could even immagine, and just thinking that you created those perfect characters, that you were the ground for them… is just completely amazing, and extraordinary!!! I love you more than Johnny Depp, and if you know me at all, which unfortunately, you don’t, that’s saying ALOT!!!!!!! I love you, and LONG LIVE GILMORE GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
