Gilmore Girls Movie News: Alexis Bledel Needs Convincing

by Arieanna on October 31st, 2007

ABC Family asks "Should Alexis Join the GG Movie?" and gives hope to us Gilmore Girls fans that the movie may get the green light. But, that maybe Alexis Bledel needs some convincing:

Rumor has it that Amy Sherman-Palladino, the original creator and writer of "Gilmore Girls," wants to conclude the story with a two-hour TV movie. Most of the cast, including Lauren Graham and Scott Patterson, seem to be on board. But Alexis Bledel is holding out, word has it, to see how she feels at the time. What do you think? Should she give Rory one last go, or leave her be?

The Gimore Girls would not be the same without Alexis. My hope is that with time, with the right script, and with the rest of the cast supporting her, she’ll come around! Then again, we don’t know ABC’s source for the ‘word’ on this one, and Alexis could really want to do it. I hope she does!

Thanks Rob! Tags: , ,

she started this show along with other cast members she should finish it for us the fans we went through 6 amazing seasons and the last season went down hill so to speak and were not asking to bring back the show were just asking please for our sake just end the show the right way right

It wouldn’t be the same without her, but I would only watch the “movie” because of Lorelai & Luke. Personly, I think Rorys parts are a bit boring, but they can’t make a Gilmore Girls movie with just one Gilmore Girl.. And I don’t think Lauren would make the movie without Alexis eighter.

without rory, the youngness (mostly, if you will) isn’t there…she should just make the movie to give the show a good ending a REAL ending that wasn’t noticed less than a week before the last episode.

I am sure Amy can handle a good script
and I dont wanna see a GG movie without Alexis

by the way: I see a Luke/Lorelei wedding and another Jess appearance

I feel that Alexis is the reason the show stopped. Her loyalty to her fans has gone astray and she has torn apart what was a great show.
I would love to see a movie of the Gilmore Girls, but personally do not care if Alexis will be in it. She has not shown that she appreciates the viewers that have given her a chance when she first started acting.
Amy, Lauren, Scott, I hope that you will go through and produce a movie. If Alexis “doesnt feel up to it”, well then she was never a true actress to begin with.

    Oct 31, 2007 at 1:54 pm

She has to do it. It’s not like it’s a new season or something. It’s a movie, I mean once it’s done it’s done (there’s not going to be another part or season or anything like that). Give the fans what they want - REAL CLOSER!

I would love to see a wedding. As for jess, I think that’s kinda done with. I would love to see something with Logan though.

I definitely would want to see a movie. That would be great. I think Alexis should just do it. It is just a one time thing. We need a good ending to the show that does include Rory. Alexis should do it for a decent ending.

  • Katie

I agree with nea, I find that the Alexis parts are sort of boring. Lauren/Lorelai is my favorite character! But it wouldn’t be true Gilmore Girls without the girls. It’s not Gilmore girl! Although I just want to see Luke and Lorelai get married, they deserve it!

  • Lisa
    Oct 31, 2007 at 3:13 pm

I agree w/ LOLA. I don’t care if Alexis is there or not. She was one of the main reasons that GG didn’t return for a 13 episodes of season 8. I don’t really see her doing anything else w/ her life but lunching and shopping. I would prefer she be in a movie but doing it w/out her would be fine as well.

I will hate her forever if she causes it not to happen like season 8.

Alexis has to do the movie. I want to see Rory and Jess get together. She just has to. If she doesn’t, I think people will be pretty upset with her

  • Charlene
    Oct 31, 2007 at 8:51 pm

There is no point in doing the movie if the ‘whole’ cast isnt there, i get the feeling that a whole bunch of you from your comments dont even like Alexis but i feel she is the whole reason we had the gilmore girls otherwise it would have been gilmore girl and that wouldnt be much fun at all, so if she doesnt want to do it then there in no point in doing it. and i agree with the comment above mine people would be so annoyed if she didnt do it,
    thats my 2cents worth ….

  • Regis
    Oct 31, 2007 at 9:26 pm

I think you should be very careful pointing fingers until you have all the facts. “Rumor has it”, “seem to be on board”, “word has it” - not a lot of precision in these statements.

And what happens if the 2-hour movie doesn’t satisfy? Do you start another campaign? At some point, you are going to have to accept what the artist gives you. It’s not their job to satisfy everyone. Seven years is an incredible run - be thankful it lasted that long.

Alexis put 7 years of her young life into this series. It was NOT her decision that Amy should leave without finishing the job. That was Amy’s choice. It was NOT her decision to end the series as it did. That was Rosenthal’s choice (and a pretty good one as far as I’m concerned). She did exactly what she was expected to do, and she did it quite well. This vitriol towards Alexis is truly appalling.

You have 153 glorious episodes of a TV masterpiece. You don’t know how lucky you are.

    Enjoy!

A GG movie would be really nice ! But everyone has to be in it ! But lets just all wait and see !! Stop stressing !!!!!!!

But I do think that Jess & Rory belong together! They get each other , nut I fear that won’t be hapening with Alexis and Milo personal history now:-(

  • Pamela
    Nov 1, 2007 at 4:58 am

    I agree with Regis.

If Ms. Bledel doesn’t want to do it then she shouldn’t. It wouldn’t be good if she had no real interest and it showed. Maybe they should leave a good thing alone and stop crying over the milk that ASP & the CW spilt. Between the two of those entities they actually screwed up everything.

And, that folks, is why I don’t watch the CW anymore.

  • Lara Joy
    Nov 1, 2007 at 5:59 am

I think they shouldn’t end the Gilmore girls. I’m not interessted to see an end!!! That was the best show ever and we fans love it so much!!! Theres a lot more they can show. A lot! Do they want to leave the best part out?
I would never watch the show without Rory and I would hate to see it if the show turns into a Luke&Lorelai love show. That sounds hard but then I think they should do nothing. Why not make more seasons? They could still tell so much more and we fans love GG so much. Why not make more leads or give our Girls less lines… It’s not all about wedding…babys…and happiness… that was never the show about. It was about a mother and a daughter who love each other so much and act like friends. That was the show and all the town members… I WOULD HATE TO SEE THE SHOW END! Reasons4seasonS - I totally agree to Amy and Dan
Daniel Palladino:”But we wanted to break Bonanza and Gunsmokes record.” Bonanza had by the way 15 seasons.
Amy P:”…when you see stuff happening it’s like it doesn’t have to end.”
Amy P:” that until everybody is dead in the family there is always a story to tell.”
I think we shouldn’t be mad at Alexis. No one of us knows how much work it was at the set of GG. We should respect that. I think maybe if we wait longer and Alexis gets her deserved break after 7 years she comes back for a few more seasons… Amys&Dans of course… I still watch my GG DVD’s and I love GG so much… don’t mess things up with a years too soon end and with a show who is not Gilmore Girls anymore! Things are already worse… why make it more worse? Why not make things better? But never in 10000 years from now there will be a better show than Gilmore Girls. We want more seasonS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And we want the Palladinos back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE DON’T END THE GILMORE GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRING GG BACK FOR AT LEAST 4 MORE SEASONS OR 16 SEASONS TO BREAK BANANZAS RECORD!!!!!!!!!!! WE WANT THE GIRLS BACK WE KNOW!!!!!!!!!! WE LOVE RORY,LORELAI,EMILY,RICHARD&STARS HOLLOW!!!!!!! GG FOREVER!!!!! DON’T END THE BEST SHOW EVER!!!!!!

  • Lara Joy
    Nov 1, 2007 at 6:24 am

sorry that with the 15 seasons was Gunsmokes but anyway they wanted to get more seasons than this show. Just because the CW and the Palladinos didn’t talk about the problem they end the show? Why not solve the problem? That’s the most famous and beloved show worldwide ever!!!!!!! Hey, we’re missing 9 seasons to break Gunsmokes record!!!!!!!!!

I - being a true GG fan - hope everyone can come together and make this movie. But realistically, here’s what I think… There would be no point of making a movie if one of the two stars of the show wasn’t going to be in it. If she doesn’t want to do it, I don’t think they should make the movie. How weird would it be to see everyone else in this movie but the character Rory? It sounds like a lot of you are upset with Alexis, but if you think about it, what kind of story would this movie have if her character wasn’t going to be a part of it? It wouldn’t make any sense to the whole story of the Gilmore Girls. They wouldn’t be able to “wrap it up” without her character either. We’ll just have to wait and see…

  • Maddie

I AGGREE WITH U LOLA!!!!! but i think it would not be the same without alexis bledel even though lorelai is my favorite character!! and Adrienne you are 100% right!! she can’t take 16 days and do a movie for her fans!!! i mean come on, WE, THE FANS MADE HER A STAR BY WATCHING GILMORE GIRLS, the least she can do is make us happy and make a movie.. seriously

    Nov 1, 2007 at 12:14 pm

DAMN!!!!!!! do the stupid movie girl!!! you know that you growed up with gilmore girls! don´t you just want to end it right???… I hate the final episode, it was stupid, she should have give the yes to logan when he ask her to married him! and I didn´t like that logan didn´t appeared in the final episode because they were in love!!! and lorelai and luke should get married!… Us,the fans we deserve it!!! It looks really bad that the serie has ended tha way, we deserve respect because we saw and give 8 years of our lives to see that serie and we deserve that it ends well!!! I won´t ask her that she has to do it! no! she should because without her there will not be gilmore girls! amy shouldn´t had leaves us 2 years ago when the serie was in the best moment! because of her the girls didn´t wanted to do another season!!!

I mean, it´s true that she has this thought that she wants to study first but to be engaged doesn´t mean that she gonna leave the studies! the reason that she told him is stupid! and the serie turned into somenthing bored the last 2 seasons… lorelai never should never have sex with christopher! that was really bad! I didn´t liked that! luke didn´t deserve it!!! we need this movie, we need to see that the gilmore girls are still alive and with us!

I’m Italian and here in Italy, GG has been suspended after only seven episodes.
I’m so sorry but I’ve already seen the final episodes. I don’t like very much the ending and I would a movie for a better end…

Excuse me for my grammatical errors…

  • Joey
    Nov 1, 2007 at 1:15 pm

She would be an honest idiot not to take the role. GG is the only thing she’s really stood out in; not even Sisterhood could compare. IMO, she thinks too highly of herself; GG is one of the most watch/most remebered shows, she can’t possibly think she can do better than that. Mmph. That woman really frustrates me. She better take the role.

I hope Alexis will give us closure. Most TV shows never finish on a proper note. Gilmore Girls deserves to finish on a high and he story being told by Amy, Amy is GG. I haven’t seen the final season yet (not on in oz, waiting for the DVD) but I didn’t like the way season 6 finished. When I saw Lorelai with Christopher I could’ve thrown something at the TV. I ahve never been so frustrated at the end of a season. Lorelai should be with Luke, but there shouldn’t be a wedding in the finalie, that would take too much time away from the story. A fitting end would be Lorelai and Rory off to Europe together leaving their respective partners behind, they tur to the cameras and say we love you, goodbye. Alexis, I hope you can find it in your heart to give us all a fitting end to a brilliant show. GG was a big part of your life, I’m sure you would want to look back and say “yeah, we did the best we could” After all that, thank you to all the cast and crew for the seven years. Hope to see you soon. Finally, don’t go Alexis bashing, it’s totally uncool.

  • Arieanna
    Nov 1, 2007 at 2:39 pm

Realistically, we’ve got a while to wait before any actor would need to decide. First, Amy would need to do up the script and who knows how long that would take. Then, with getting funding, studio backing and whatnot, it could be a while before the actors come into play. I’m confident that she’d do the film, especially as time gives her perspective on the situation.

Do any of you who have made these nasty assumptions about Alexis Bledel actually know her? Do you know for a fact that she doesn’t want to do this movie? How dare you make remarks about her being conceited, spending her life doing lunch, or how she will never do anything that compares to GG. What a load of rubbish. She owes you nothing. She gave up 7 years of her life to GG and now seems to want to move on. If she decides not to do this movie, then tough. No doubt she will get the blame, no matter what happens.

OK- sorry to double post, but I just read the ABC website and think that if you all really want a GG movie- you should post your comments there because ABC probably monitors it! The more encouraging posts the better!!!! Heres the site:

    Nov 1, 2007 at 5:41 pm

Come on, after every show gets cancelled there are talks for two years or so to bring it back or make a movie. The show did have an ending, Luke and Lorelai kissed and Rory is off on the campaign trail..what more is there?

For all the romantics out there I think they read too much into the show. Lorelai refused to get married when she got pregnant, then bolted just before a wedding, then went back to screw an old flame because Luke wouldn’t get married right away, then got married for about five months.

Luke tiraded about the miseries of marriage, then got married and had it last about five months as well. Face it, if anything this show has taught you that a wedding doesn’t mean happy ever after-hell even a kid wasn’t a guarantee.

The show was pretty decent but lets not pretend it was a masterpiece. However, with the dreck on television a well written show about the town without ANY of the four romantic leads would probably have me watching. But thats not how television works-there are supposed to be a few characters and we’re supposed to think the sun revolves around them (come on, a celebration because a kid graduates? Boy, the other kids in town must feel so special).

But if people are that heartbroken, check out some fan fiction online, some are better written than lots of the shows were.

Keep the original characters including Rory Gilmore. I want Amy Sherman-Palladino and her interpretation of the seventh season.

  • anvil
    Nov 2, 2007 at 10:05 am

Was Amy forced out after season six? If not, then she bears some of the blame, it was season six where things really started going downhill, beginning with the introduction of Luke’s kid-in what was probably the worst introduction of a kids character since Ally McBeal.

That led to the reconciliation where he was apologizing for having kept the girl at a distance because he was afraid she’d like her better. That led to her sleeping with christopher and the whole season seven patchup. All the ’straighteing out’ could have been done in season seven and given that ending everybody was hoping for.

Season seven was bad, but six wasn’t that much better.

  • kelymar - venezuela
    Nov 2, 2007 at 10:56 am

you´re right anvil! the season 7 seven was bad! but the six wasn´t that better, since when lukes has a doughter, or when in the hell lukes had this relationship with ANA i´d never eared about her, I mean they didn´t even know what to do that they started to invented all this characters!!! and I didn´t like when christopher lives with lorelai because in the season 2 when she was daiting max or was tehe season 1? well when she was daiting him, she always said that no men sleeps in her house because she has to respect rory an when she started daiting luke she said to him that, that was the first time she sleeps with a guy in her house and that really nice because It seems like he was the guy you know?… but when christopher sleeps there it was realy bad!!!

  • Jen
    Nov 2, 2007 at 11:43 am

Ok, guys, stop bashing on Chris.
I’m not a big fan of him, but he had his part in everything. He is rory’s dad and Lorelai’s first real relationship. Lorelai and Chris have always had something between them. Now the whole getting married thing was a bit much, but them trying to date and stuff wasn’t that big of a shock…

As for April, that came out of left field. I dunno what the writers where trying to do with that one.

I really want Alexis to do the movie, but we don’t know what her personal feelings are about anything. If she doesn’t want to do the movie then it’s her thing, and if she does then that great (better for us). She did the show for 8 year, did any of you (who are saying bad things) ever stop to think that maybe she’s just burned out on it. I think I would be really tired of something that was so time consuming that I couldn’t have a normal life too. Yes, I know the fans made her and I’m sure she knows that, but give her a break, she just needs some “quiet time”.

    PLEASE ALEXIS, DO THE MOVIE!

  • dave
    Nov 2, 2007 at 7:24 pm

This was an interesting show because all the other shows on TV are so bad. I’m hoping not many of the fairer sex see it as a role model show.

It got really bad as soon as I saw these two bulimics sitting with a pile of junk food and watching ‘fatso’. As the characters on screen yell ‘fat, fat, fat’, the girl says ‘this is the greatest thing ever’.

Meanwhile the two would weigh four hundred pounds in real life. Meanwhile, the characters talk as if she’s some great mother when she feeds her kid nothing but junk.

Meanwhile, a supposed world class chef can’t figure out how to make a vegetarian meal other than pasta and says eating meat is ‘progress’. And who was sponsoriing the show-the lamb council? Every second meal at the parents was a poor lamb, they even made a point of saying it.

What is sad about shows like this is how easy it would be to be so much better. Hopefully soon the equipment and technology and industry will be cheap enough that shows without super heroes, demons, billionaires and bad singers will be able to be made online without the politics.

  • Lara Joy
    Nov 2, 2007 at 11:01 pm

I agree with you kelymar. Since all this April thing started the show was bad and the show got worse because of David Rosenthal. I think the Gilmore’s men got too much involved in the Gilmores life. So the show lost the most special thing - the mother - daughter friendship. We’ll never know how Amys season 7 would be and how many seasons we had got after her seasons 7.
Maybe in her seasons 7 the show had take a turn in another way. I think Amy knows what she’s doing - I trust her. So I think the April and Anna story was a good idea too keep the show on the air for a few more seasons and to keep the focus more on Rorys and Lorelais relationship. (but D.R ruined it). At the moment we can see here in Germany season 7 of GG but I never watched an episode, I saw a lot downloads and rode enough about this season. I’m not interested in a movie to give this show an end and I wouldn’t watch it also if Amy would produce it. We should give Lauren and Alexis the break they deserve and Amy and the CW should dicuss about a solution to shoot Amys 7th seasons - and the show should get at least 11 seasons. An end is the worst thing ever. The show would loose all it stands for!!!

  • LOLA
    Nov 3, 2007 at 11:27 am

I love Lauren Graham’s acting and her role as Lorelai. As stated above with many of you, the first 4 seasons were amazing, 5 was okay. I am not sure what happened with 6 and 7… I feel the story did get off track and this movie is a chance for it to be put back in place. Do not get me wrong. I do NOT want another season! 7 was almost torture. This movie is just for CLOSURE. An end. The final score. Only Amy could provide that (miss you) AND the original cast.
What I do not understand is why someone would not want to finish something they have worked on for so long. I am happy that Alexis has other prospects and is becoming known for other roles besides Rory. However, what is making her unsure about doing this movie? She devoted 7 years to making Gilmore Girls and is ready to ‘move on’. I get it. Really. I’ve switched jobs enough to understand that needing or wanting of new challenges. But this movie would be the finish line. Who stops before crossing the line? Who doesnt finish the race, even if it is already over? Maybe it is just my work ethic to finish what I start.
I feel disappointment for the other actors/actresses. Personally, I wouldnt work 7 years on my business project (putting time and energy in creating something AND having the chance to complete it), then let my team down by not publishing the end product. Again, my work ethic.
I do not know Alexis, but I have seen the character of Rory almost grow up. People in general feel complete when there is closure. If Alexis feels that Gilmore Girls has ended with its best performance, then closure has been met for her. We as fans must digress.
However this turns out, I do want world peace… and a Gilmore Girls Movie!

  • dave
    Nov 3, 2007 at 6:54 pm

I’ve never really understood the whole ‘happy ending’ thing. The show did have ‘closure’. Rory got a job and Luke and Lorelai got back together. Thats as much an ending as anything, what do people expect?

Season 7 was ‘bad’, but it was still worth watching, and I’d probably keep watching as long as they put it out. Like somebody mentioned, so long as they are alive there are stories to tell. The only real ‘ending’ would be a funeral.

Shows get bad for all kinds of reasons, most of them political. From one point of view Lorelai ‘had’ to get married to Chris, even though it seemed pretty tacked on. Luke having a daughter wasn’t a ‘bad’ idea, it was just introduced so unbelievably stupidly that it almost seemed as if the producers wanted to purposely remind viewers that its all made up. That a woman would have a child and not tell the father is not so unbelievable, but the science exhibit and the introduction of Anna was mind bogglingly irresponsible writing-an intro class to dramatic writing would have given it a D.

I wouldn’t hold my breath for a movie, by the time ‘they’ have time the show will be forgotten.

It´s just that I Fell inlove for this serie! really the first chapter got me! it was the best of all! and it got Sticky! and I love every part of it! but It´ll be really great if thy make this movie, will give us closure, you know… if we deserve it! jajaja! I am still happy though. As long as I can have Lauren Graham and Scott Patterson, then hey, I’m good.
I just watched season 1 again. Wow. I forgot how good it was!!!! THAT is what I want to see again. The writing and the acting… I miss it…

i tihnk alexis should do the movie but for some reason she doesnt want to but i hostley adn toallty think and feel this way that if they get milo to come back for that she will do it it just seem that she would do it then i know they are on and off or off and on and it could help her i tihnk that what she need becuae i heard they are still freind and maybe that what she need to get this movie going and it would be cute to see them to sicne if you thnk about it dean married and he hasnt been on since the 4th season adn logan we all seen how that turn out so jess is the only one left i can think of that would make sense

in my opinion the only way alexis is going to do the gilmore girls movie is if milo says yes to it to. she cant be with logan b/c they broke up before the final episode and dean is married and on supernatural so the only love interest left is jess the one she had the most chemistry and fun with and everyone could see it even if ur blind. there should be no gilmore girls movie without alexis and milo that is my opinion.

There just wouldn’t be a gilmore girls with out the true rory. Come on Alexis you just have to, I would like to find out what happens with Scott and Lauren.

I miss GG dearly. No show could replace it yet. About movie - just give us a hope! Without Alexis it won’t go, she grew up in such beautiful, brainy, sensual woman over the years in front of our eyes, that movie without her would have big blank space. And, honestly, I’ like to see her back with Logan with their unbelievable chemistry, let them be apart for a few years just to understand that they meant to be together (married or not just doesn’t matter).

Please do the movie Alexis! The finale was not enough!

    Nov 16, 2007 at 9:48 am

Of course she should do it. It wouldn’t be Gilmore Girls with just Lauren. We need both Lauren and Alexis to do the movie otherwise there would be no point at all.

Sorry forgot stuff. I’ve been glued to this show since it came out. And I’ve missed it since there are no new episodes ever again and if there were a movie with Alexis, people would go nuts because there is a movie with the Gilmore Girls. I know I’d go nuts and prolly try to buy the movie if it ever came out on DVD. All I’m trying to say is “Please do the movie Alexis.”

Oh yes Alexis should really do the GG movie and give “Tristan Dugrey” to win her this time around. Paging the Palladinos, he’s the ONLY Rory’s leading man who hasnt returned yet…

  • Amber
    Nov 18, 2007 at 7:34 pm

I think that Alexis should definately do the movie. It just wouldn’t be the same without her. There is no GG without Alexis and Lauren as a team as they are on the show.

If it happens, Jess has to come back and be with Rory. If that’s not going to happen, then why bother, because it really wouldn’t be right.

I did not hate season 7, and the main characters’ ending was satisfying enough to me (although I would have liked Lorelai not to define herself only through her relationships for the whole season), I just feel maybe other characters were lost in the process of wrapping-up.

I miss Lane. I wish her “mother” arc would go beyond “babies are a lot of work” and “babies poop”, that’s just sad for a show about parenting. I would have liked to see Lane and Zack as a family, having a single, even silent moment, considering their new life, loving each other and loving their children. That would have helped the season in my mind. Babies popping up everywhere isn’t worth it if you don’t go beyond showers, diapers and huge stomachs.

Anyway, I think a movie would be the second-best solution (another season would feel less “rushed”, I imagine) to clear things up a bit. Lorelai and Luke should just say “Hey look, we’re not good at marriage, let’s just be together.” Too many weddings in that show, if you ask me. What have we had ? Luke/Nicole, Lorelai/Christopher, Lane/Zack, Emily/Richard, Liz/T.J., Dean/Lindsay, faux-Mia/Howard, and that’s not counting the many weddings that didn’t happen..? That’s a lot.

Season seven was too much about “big gestures” and less about everyday life (with its big steps too, of course) in a family or a community.
Anyway, I’m babbling. I would very much like a season or a movie going back to the “source” of this wonderful show, and that’s not possible without Lorelai, Rory, Emily, Richard, Luke, Lane, Sookie. I don’t think Rory’s love interest (whichever one) is that important, personally. (Although Jess and Rory’s relationship never really happened, and that would surely be nice to see.)

In hope of seeing those real, moving and beloved characters spring to life again, in one form of another,

    Sarah

I believe the fans deserve a better ending than was given to us in the final season, let alone the final episode. The character of Christopher was overused; it was ludicrous that Loralai married this guy. Didn’t make sense…..weakened the character of Loralai and weakened the series. The ending of like a tossed salad of throw this in and throw that in so that all of these topics can be addressed and finalized. So, please give us a movie to show L&L marrying, married, with child….so much that could have been elaborated on during the final season instead of bringing Christopher so strongly into the fold. I believe this is what killed the series. If Alexis needs convincing, I believe that the movie would be just fine without her….Loralai could just talk to her on the phone. I’m just a bit tired of hearing about Alexis needing time and not wanting to commit.

id really only love it with jess coming back to rory. not logan. jess was great, it would be perfect!
alexis needs to be there, or at least one of her bfs speaking to lorelei , anything!
either way we need a movie, the ending sucked .

I just watched all seven seasons in the last 3 weeks… I watched everyone else in the town get married, and have kids, and never got to see the Gilmore Girls do this except for Lorelai and Chris and that didn’t count , they didn’t even show the wedding…. I was waiting for a finale with a double wedding Lorelai/Luke and Rory/Logan and was left with Rory ignoring her broken heart, and breaking Logans heart, and Luke and Lorelai giving another shot at a relationship possibly… Luke could have at least asked her to take the fishing trip with him since his daughter couldn’t go that would have been cute.. Sucky ending I need a movie !

I would really love it if Amy fixed the whole logan/rory break up. In the middle of the season. Rory was talking about him being the “one” and even took him home to stars hollow. Then D.R. made it stupid by breaking them up at the end. I don’t get it. Logan/Rory wouldn’t have walked away from each other. If they do a movie then Matt (a.k.a logan) needs to be included. I think Logan/Rory and luke /Lorelai are really ment to be.

I have been watching Gilmore Girls since the beginning but only made it to the 2nd season before it was taken off air. I’ve only got back into it in the last year or so and I love Amy for the 7 Fantabulous Seasons she has written. I can’t settle with the ending and would LOVE to see the movie just for a Rory and Jess moment. Although it wouldn’t be the same without the original cast.

I think it’s selfish for Alexis to bail because “she doesn’t feel up to it” after what the show has done for her acting career. I have always loved Alexis as an actress as I have imagined her to be a living version of Rory but my opinion has changed. I have lost all respect for Alexis and I now see her in a new light, after all Rory would make the movie.

  • STACY
    Feb 13, 2008 at 2:14 pm

I love the idea of Logan being Rory’s one and only. That’s not to say that I don’t like jess/dean, but Logan (in my opinion) is the best guy for Rory. He loves her like dean did, has a badboy side like jess did. Logan is tristen/jess/dean all in one.

I have watched the show from the first episode to the last episode and i even own all 7 seasons on dvd and was truely depressed when i found out that the show would be no more. You know i think its a crappy thing to happen and i am left empty inside because there hasnt been any show to capture me like Gilmore Girls did. And for Alexis to be so snobby and stingy is actually surprising. I mean if it wasnt for Gilmore Girls nobody would know her. They would be like alexis who? That show MADE her. If it wasnt for all the loyal GG fans like me (there are millions btw) she would not be as successful as she is. Has she not thought about that? If she dont do this movie i will forever boycott all alexis movies and shows and im sure im not the only one. WE DESERVE THIS!! So get off your high horse alexis and do it. You never know, you might make alot of money off of it.

I’m a fan of GG from H.K., I really love to see Rory and Logan go back together cause they are perfect match each other. Logan is cute and u won’t feel boring with him. I also agree that the ending on season 7 was stupid. How come a three-year relationship just broke up like this, wasn’t it stupid? I felt so sad to watch the finale episode. PLEASE GO ON THE MOVIE AND GIVE US A HAPPY ENDING!!!!!!!!!!

Logan and Rory Rock!!!. I really want Matt and Alexis to be in the gilmore girl movie. I want Rory and Logan back together like it should have been D.R.! Shame on you for breaking them up. I also stand behind what I said before. Rory and Logan wouldn’t have walked away from each other that easy. They are truly ment to be a love that goes on forever. They are timeless.

    Here’s Hope:

We all know this prob. isnt true… but it gives all the Gilmore Girl Guru’s (Me included!) the hope we need.
Maybe Alexis and everyone is already on-board… and given the green light. Amy is already writing (finishing) the script and the movie or season 18 will be out late this year/early 2009. Im hoping for a 13-episode Season 18 because that means more GG, but I will take what ever they give me. They left too many strings hanging in Sesons 7 SEASON finale, it was a season finale.. not a series. Now that the writer strike has died down there is hope that all of out questions will be answered. They cant leave us like this!!!!!!

I know I keep saying this, but I love LOGAN with Rory and I don’t understand why they broke up. (Other then D.R. was stupid.) Rory Loved Logan and then Logan figured out that he Loved Rory. So when he asked her to marry him, she says no? I guess I just don’t understand why Rory can’t be in love (She told Jess she was in love with logan) and work at the same time. I think that the show ended up saying that women have to choose and they don’t. Rory could have gotten married and still had a career of her own. I think D.R. did a very poor job in making Rory not marry Logan. They were on a good path. He had just got a job away from his dad and she could have gotten a job anywhere. I’m sorry I think the ending was stupid.

( I wasen’t sure how long they’d let me write)

So my feeling is that they should make a movie and have Rory and Logan get back together. They don’t have to be married, but it would be nice. I also would like Lorelai to actually like him. Thery way she liked dean. Plus I would like to see Lorelai with Luke.

i totally agree with everything, i was just so upset by the ending…first of all it was the end and that just was ridiculous, i love the show, have all the seasons on dvd and it just didn’t seem like a true ending and didn’t make me happy. rory and logan should be together in the movie. they love eachother and can be together without being married. he is perfect for rory and i think it was just a really depressing ending for them not to be together. i have rewatched all the seasons and can’t even watch the last two episodes again because i just feel like so many things were left undone, between luke and lore, and logan and rory. there needs to be movie to finish things up and actually bring everyone together like they should be.

if alexis doesn’t do it i doubt lauren will. then there will be nothing.
this is so stupid. i love alexis, she’s one of my favorite actresses, but seriously, the cast doesn’t realize how pissed off the fans are about how the show ended. pretty much all of my friends thought the 90% of the last episode was stupid, just like the whole seventh season. they really need to do a movie to change my view of this whole show that i’ve basically been following since the second season. ugh this makes me mad.

I love this show, it’s one of my favorites. I got very excited to hear that there might be a Gilmore Girls movie. However, Alexis Bledel HAS to play Rory! It wouldn’t be Gilmore Girls without her. She’s very talented and I love the chemistry between everyone on the show. I certainly wish the show would come back and not just have a movie, that would be awesome. Hey stranger things have happened! I hope that if they do bring the show back or even just a movie that Logan and Rory end up together and Luke and Lorelai end up together. Wouldn’t a double wedding be fabulous? Look how close Lorelai and Rory are, that would be so perfect. :)

Lysa, I agree with you one hundred percent. This show literally brought me out of a depression, I know that it sounds sad and it probably is but it is an amazing show. Logan and Rory together and Luke and Loralie together, wouldn’t that be perfect. The only thing better would be if Logan ended up with me!! I am so glad to see so many people supporting the possibility of a GG movie, if we keep pushing maybe it will happen. Personally I will be praying

alexis bledel has to do a gilmore girls movie. if she wasn’t in the movie it wouldn’t be gilmore girls, it would be gilmore girl. and that’s not right to be gil-less. alexis should do the movie if every one else is doing it

i think that she should definately do it , WE REALLY NEED NEED A REAL ENDING!!!! and i agree with jen if luke and lorelai get married then jess is made rorys cousin, soooooo… it would be weird. but i definately think that she should resume her relationship with logan! wouldn’t you love a double wedding,… mother and daughter!!

bring on the GG movie, i think alot of what’s said about Alexis is rubbish!! Unless you’ve heard her say in an interview you’ll never know her true opinion on the subject.
i really hope they all come back and do it though cos i wanna see Rory and Logan back together again they were perfect together!!
Lorelai and luke all the way!!
We as fan’s deserve the closure we should of got during the finale episode but didn’t!!!

    Aug 30, 2008 at 10:15 am

Okay, i think majority rules. I think that Alexis/Rory should finish up gilmore girls. It will not be the same without her, nor will it make sense to involve one girlmore girl instead of 2 the way that it began. I think the production company should do this, and give everyone a true ending. I would like to see Logan/Rory get married or back together at least. I would like Lorelai and Luke married. I want this movie to give us a real ending, and how things turned out. I think gilmore movie is a very great idea, and i think a lot of fans would be disappointed if this movie didn’t happen.

  • Rose
    Sep 1, 2008 at 3:57 am

I really hope there is a GG movie. I hated how the series ended and the last episode was really rushed. I really want there to be a movie so I can see a Luke/Lorelai wedding, and Jess should make an appearance in it. Jess and Rory are meant to be! They had the best connection and the most things in common with each other. Rory keeps thinking of and going back to Jess, and Jess always has Rory on his mind. That reunion would be adorable! I hope Alexis agrees to doing the movie.

  • jessica
    Sep 3, 2008 at 11:35 am

I think that as long as the movie stays true to the story line of teh GG series that it will be great. Therefore making it great for Alexis if she does this.
