Alexis Bledel to star in ‘Ticket to Ride’
Alexis Bledel has signed on for a new movie called "Ticket to Ride." The college comedy will be directed by Vicky Jenson (of ‘Shrek’). The screenplay was written by Kelly Fremon.
The "Gilmore Girls" star will play Ryden Malby, a college grad who is forced to move back into her childhood home with her eccentric family while she attempts to find a job, the right guy and some direction for her life.
"Ticket to Ride" will begin filming in December with a $15 million budget. Tom Pollock is executive producer.
It will be great to see Alexis Bledel taking on more movie roles. I was worried she’d take a long break after Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. But it looks like Alexis has no thoughts of giving up acting just yet! And a comedy role is perfect for her.

YAY! So happy about this! I thought she was gonna take a long break too, but looks like thats a no!
Did anyone else notice that two people from GG were on Private Practice last night? I remember reading that David Suitcliffe would be on PP on this site, but I was happy when I saw the girl who played Sookie’s psycho baby nurse, Bruce, was on it too! And she actually played a pretty hard core women in PP too.lol

This latest movie of hers comes from the producers of one the surprised hits this year, Disturbia. So hopefully Alexis &/or her new movie could follow the same path of what Disturbia had done to Shia Le Beouff’s career…

@ Lark
Likewise agree. The tandem of Reitman & Pollock are the one who’s behind Disturbia. After Shia’s hitting on Disturbia, there comes Transformers and that upcoming Indiana Jones. And look where he is now, a young superstar! Hopefully he might rub off some luck to Alexis movie career too. lol!

Wow its quite surreal but a good thing though. I thought her next film would be “Gilmore Girls, The Movie” but then it turned out to be this one. What a surprising turn. I know GG is not a far-fetched thing so who knows it might listed also as her follow-up to Ticket To Ride and she’ll be fully busy/loaded again by that time and to hell w/ that rumor that she’s going to quit acting…

Well I (sickly) hope/wish that she could bagged the role of “Bella from Twilight” too coz I know that one would really a “sure fire big thing” for her. I know she’s kind of way over Bella’s age, but who cares as long as she’ really a “fitting clone” of that character huh…

I’d never heard of Shia LaBeouf, but Google revealed this picture:

It kind of ties this thread together.

Wow, they looked good too and it looks like that Alexis is about as the same age as Shia; bet you dont know that I think that she is about 5 years older than him. Well they could play siblings in a movie if probably given a chance….

What’s your problem dude?! And so what’s wrong w/ that?! At least she could still get a film role and a lead role at that without whoring herself in Hollyweird or caught busy hooking up just like what her contemporaries from OC & Tree Hill starlets have all been doing. She’s one of the very few who’s leading a classic & decent hollywood lifestyle…

I am more than happy! Alexis hasn’t starred in a movie in a very long time and I’m glad she’s getting another chance again. I hope Alexis could do more films, something more worthy and not just stuck up herself in GG. Her other TV actresses contemporaries from the OC, One Tree Hill or even Amber Tamblyn have more movies up on their sleeves than her to think that she the most senior among them (but she’s the prettiest too, I guessed). I think that she should put off all those shyness & do a lot of auditioning for some film roles. And hopefully Ticket To Ride would really open new doors for her…

Knowing that this film would be under FOX and not WB where Gilmore Girls was under into. It would be a new territory for her & sure thing to say that she made it on her own to win in to lead in this film and so not thru the help of influential back-ups. And that’s so good to know & to wait for what’s she’s coming up to…
