Gilmore Girls Episode Recap:
Lorelai is wearing ‘not underwear’ under her skirt. Much in need of laundry. Stars Hollow is decked out for the Autumn Festival. Except at Luke’s - Taylor Doose makes his first appearance to complain about Luke’s lack of town spirit.
Rory gets back from Chilton and goes to Doose’s to look for Dean. Taylor is not sure Dean’s cranberry sauce Mayflower is convincing. Dean spots Rory and comes over - she’s still shy, but accepts his offer for a soda. Dean has Rory pick a soda from behind his back - when she starts to guess, he leans in and kisses her.

And Rory runs away (stealing the cornstarch) to Lane’s.
"I got kissed. And I… and I shoplifted"
Rory is very excited - the kiss was perfect. Mrs. Kim overhears but Lane says ‘The Lord’ kissed Rory. Rory wants to go home and tell Lorelai - but is worried because she does not know about Dean. And the last time a boy came up it was messy (wanting to quit Chilton) - and that was about Dean.
Lorelai is trying to get someone to tell her what’s wrong with her squeaking fridge. No luck getting a repair guy, Rory puts her cornstarch on her dresser with a smile. Lorelai is very angry so Rory does not bring up Dean.
Lorelai goes to pick up a chair from Mrs. Kim, who tells her that she should be less busy. Then she’d remember to pick up her chair and keep her daughter from running around kissing boys. And says it’s the boy from the grocery store. Though Lorelai does not think Rory is kissing, she realizes that she is after hearing about the store. She’s hurt Rory did not tell her.
Lane and Rory are pilgrims at the festival. Lane tells Rory everything she knows about Dean - including his ex, Beth. But also that he talks of Rory constantly.

Lorelai is watching Rory & Lane through the Diner window - and knows that Rory is talking about Dean. When Rory comes in to say hi, Lorelai tries to get her to ‘update her’ on everything by talking about a scene in General Hospital about kissing. Rory does not take the bait and leaves before Lorelai can ask a direct question about Dean.
Lorelai goes to spy on Dean at Doose’s. Luke bumps into her there getting cream.
"Rory got kissed. Rory had her first kiss. And that guy did it."
Luke pulls her out of the store and tries to calm her down. Lorelai says Dean reminds her of Christopher. She’s so hurt that this is a secret - they don’t have secrets. She wants to show Rory that it’s ok to talk to her about guy things - but she herself is not quite there in accepting there is a guy thing. But, if she is welcoming, she is sure all will be ok.
Rory comes in and Lorelai ambushes her about the kiss. But tries to say she’s thrilled about it.
Movie night - Willie Wonka - off to get candy. Rory is nervous about going to the market with her mom - sets some ground rules. Lorelai is good - they even share a smile over Dean’s nice eyes. And Lorelai is impressed by Dean’s movie knowledge. Rory runs off to get the movie, and Dean runs out to give them a missed candy. So Lorelai decides to invite him to movie night.
Rory is furious. Her first date with Dean will be with her mother! Lorelai totally missed the mark by being too eager to be the casual mom. Rory’s humiliated. There’s no way out. They can’t cancel - that looks bad on Rory - and if Lorelai disappears it’s like she set up a date for Rory, and that looks bad too.

Lorelai helps Rory out of fashion brain freeze. Rory is worried about being a spaz at the dating thing. Dean is late - but turns out Babette had grabbed hold of him. Babette is already talking about a wedding and kids. Lorelai goes into a Rory baby story almost right off the bat, but recovers.
Dean is very cool about the whole thing. Tries to get Rory to loosen up. Sookie sneaks over to see Dean. Cute glare from Rory. Dean is pleased Rory knows how to eat. Lorelai and Rory make up some embarrassing stories for Dean - kind of evens out the Prince Charming fantasy. Lorelai was about to come back in with popcorn, but leaves Rory and Dean alone to their cute flirting. Rory starts to get nervous and goes to seek Lorelai.
"He’s sitting there and he’s watching the movie and he’s perfect and he smells really good"
And she says she was stupid and said "Thank you" and is now freaking out. She asks Lorelai to switch from girlfriend mode to chaperone mode. Left alone, Lorelai gives Dean ‘the talk’ and that the whole town is watching their much beloved girl. Lorelai says Rory will not go on his ‘motorcycle’ and curfew will be enforced. Dean then says he’s not going anywhere and he needs Lorelai not to hate him. She will, at some point, not hate him.
When Dean kisses Rory goodnight, he says ‘Thank You.’
Lorelai looks hurt and Rory notices. Lorelai is sad she didn’t hear about the kiss. Rory decides it’s time - they sit down for a detailed girlfriend chat about the kiss.

i think Loerlai would not have been that mad if ROry told her about the kiss but she would have still been suprised.. I think Lorelai was acting like Emily by invitimg him over so she could get a sense of what he was like but then in the end rory did realize and appreciate her mother being there on her first date.

I dont think she was acting like emily. I think she just went into friend mode while Rory only saw her as “my mother.”
Rory was gonna try and tell her about the kiss I think but Lorelai was freaking out about the fridge and she said “I hate my life” which indicates that she was in a pretty bad mood at that time.

Number 1.Rory dont want bother Lorelai during she was really mad about the fridge and they come over on Monday.Rory tell her about the kiss and Lorelai just shock and suprise that all.
Number 2.Good question,cuz he like Rory,I guess.
Number 3.No Lorelai not acting like be emily,but If Rory get embassed maybe Lorelai will talk Dean about rory was a baby and childhood.
Number 4.Cuz Rory dont want be alone without Lorelai and she afraid talk to Dean for she dont know what she say to him on first date.
Number 4.Cuz Mrs.Kim dont like american boy,I guess.

I just watched this, and the previews for the series collection and the 7th season keep coming on, and even though i have them, it’s still so depressing to see them

I agree with Tucker, I think Rory was going to tell her Mom about the kiss, but the timing was not right with the fridge disaster in progress.
I think Rory’s reaction to Lorelai’s inviting Dean hints that Lorelai acted a bit like Emily. Lorelai saves the situation and everything and everyone ends up happy. This is why the show is so entertaining, by exploring unusual situations and finding fresh solutions.

1) I don’t think that Lorelai would have been mad if Rory told her. Maybe curious about Dean, because she goes to spy on him! haha. 2) Dean is probably acting cool to get Lorelai to like him so he can go out with Rory. that is what i think. 3) I think that Lorelai was acting a bit like Emily but not much. 4) I’m sure Rory appreciated Lorelai being with them as someone else to talk toish. 5) I’m never sure about what Mrs Kim thinks! hehe! I’ll skip that last one

this is Tanya wheeler and i do not like her dress i think that my mother would wear this because old people would wear this.
