Ausiello dishes a bit more on Matt Czuchry’s upcoming role on Friday Night Lights.

Matt Czuchry will be playing Chris Kennedy, the new love interest for Lyla. They meet when she is a guest star on his Christian radio show.

Here’s what I know: His character’s name is Chris Kennedy; he’s a love interest for Minka Kelly’s Lyla; the two meet when she’s invited to be a guest on his Christian radio show; he’s on board for at least four episodes; and the role called for Czuchry to channel his inner Eric Camden for a scene in which his character gives a sermon in a real church in front of real parishioners! "It was an incredibly unique experience being up in front of the whole church and giving a sermon," Czuchry shares. "I had [a real churchgoer] come up to me afterwards and say, ‘You’re going to be a minister someday. Remember this day, ’cause you’re going to be a minister.’ And then the pastor’s wife was like, ‘I didn’t know what was going on at first. I thought we had a guest minister.’" Despite the accolades, Czuchry insists he’s not feeling an urge to pursue a higher calling. "I’ll leave that to the professionals," he laughs. "I’m just an actor."
