Sookie wedding stuff everywhere. Lorelai, Rory and Michel look exhausted. Sookie is blissfully listening to one of the potential music choices. Sounds lovely, unless you listen to the lyrics. Lorelai doesn’t like any of her choices. Michel wants to leave - but he cannot. Lorelai is in the wedding, so he must run it. His first one. Rory suggests she and Lane come up with alternate music choices. Michel gets sarcastic about how hard it is to run a wedding with 40 guests, all of whom are local. Sookie had a cancellation and suggests they invite Emily & Richard.

Lorelai, at family dinner: "You know what I just realized? ‘Oy’ is the funniest word in the entire world. I mean, think about it. You never hear the word ‘oy’ and not smile. Impossible. Funny funny word."

Emily: "Oh dear God."

"’Poodle’ is another funny word. In fact, if you put ‘oy’ and ‘poodle’ together, you’d have a great new catch phrase. You know, like ‘Oy with the poodles already’"

Lorelai invites Emily to the wedding, which is in a week. She thinks it’s a pity invite. Unwanted guest invited at last minute. Lorelai tries to argue they are welcome. Richard thinks it’s a pity invite too. To which Emily says ‘ha’ and Lorelai says ‘Oy with the poodles already.’

Rory and Dean are having breakfast, where she casually hints she wants to trade her eggs for his pancakes. Lorelai has walked past the diner a dozen times trying to decide if she’ll go in. She took so long that Rory and Dean are done by the time she gets there. Lorelai tries to chit chat with Luke - he gives her the Mr. Freeze, though denies it. She apologizes again (she did so in a note as well). Lorelai says to be mad if he’s mad - she’s confused. He asks her what she wants from him.

"I want Luke back"

"He’s standin’ right here."

"No. He’s not."

Paris is making her speech for student body president. About social responsibility to the school, not cream puffs. She wants to leave a legacy. Silence from the crowd. Rory is reporting on the speeches, and Paris asks her opinion. Madeline and Louise polled students on their votes - Paris was thought most qualified & competent. But not most likable. And it will affect their votes.

Paris hooks onto Rory. Tells her to run as her Vice President. People like her. It will soften Paris’ image. She practically begs. It’s the ‘Harvard loves this kind of crap’ that gets her to agree.

‘Castie’ is coming off. Chris drove down for the unveiling. Rory is not sure she wants to win the election - it would mean 6 weeks with Paris in Washington over the summer for a leadership program. Lorelai invites Chris to the rehearsal dinner.

Jackson’s father has handed him a kilt. For the wedding. He doesn’t want to. Lorelai invites Chris to the wedding too - he says ok. Lorelai wants to know why he can be so impulsive. Chris says things with Sherry are not going well. He is ready to end it.

Lorelai is bursting to tell Rory about Chris. Paris calls - she’s writing her concession speech. Thinks she will lose. And that if she wins, it will only be because of Rory. Lorelai shares the gossip. Rory accuses Lorelai of gloating.

Night before the wedding. Lorelai gets the Inn dressed with flowers. Chris, who is staying at the Inn, comes down. Lorelai sits back with him on the couch and shares her excitement for the wedding and the real life love story between Sookie & Jackson. She saw it all. Chris is close and has his arm around Lorelai. She says ‘hi’ and they kiss. Three times. Lorelai pulls away. Says ‘this is us’. Their history.

Chris says they’ve never been in the same place at the same time before. Now that they are… she gives in. He ‘never dreamed he’d get this lucky’. They go up to his room.

Lorelai goes for a snack but finds Sookie in her wedding dress in the kitchen picking apart her wedding cake. She had a nightmare about her dress. So she put it on. Then freaked about her choice of first course. Then saw the daffodils on the cake and snapped. Sookie is worried - wants her marriage to work. To distract Sookie, Lorelai tells her about Chris. Sookie is excited for them. Lorelai reminds Sookie she’s in her wedding dress. And looks beautiful.

Chris and Lorelai talk about the future. They have a good balance now, need to think of Rory. Chris says maybe their journey was to bring them to where they are now. To be a family. Lorelai says they’ll never know until they try - it’s time to try.

Kirk asks Luke for a sandwich before the wedding. Kirk shares a little too much about being lonely. Luke goes upstairs - Jess is there. Luke wants to know why. He called 6 times, Jess never called back. Jess looks contrite. Asks to come back. Stuns Luke. Luke tells Jess that he proved everyone right - he couldn’t deal with Jess. After all the chaos and havok, he wants to come back? Jess doesn’t answer directly, but notices his stuff was never packed up.

Luke agrees. But things will have to be different. Jess knows. And already offers his help to close the diner. A surprise to Luke. Jess makes to go out - Luke says ’she’s not home.’ Luke says Rory and Dean are doing good now. Suggests Jess leave it alone.

Wedding day. Paris calls Dean’s cell to say they won. Chris is openly cuddling Lorelai. Emily notices. Lorelai tells her they may be seeing more of Chris from now on. ‘Well, I’ll be damned.’ Emily is thrilled.

Chris and Rory go for a walk to talk about his ‘intentions’. He gets a call.

And Rory gets a visitor. Jess is there. Tells her she looks nice. And that he’s moved back. He ‘just wanted to.’ Rory look stunned. Then rushes at him and kisses him. She pulls away after a bit, freaked out at what she was doing. Asks him not to say a word. Says welcome home and runs off.

Chris tells Lorelai he has to leave. To take care of something. Lorelai wants to know what and why. Sherry is back - and he doesn’t need to say anything for Lorelai to realize he’s going ‘back’ to her. She tells him to go. He tells her that Sherry is pregnant and just found out. Chris says he’s confused - he was so happy with Lorelai. But on the other hand, he missed it with Rory. And never forgave himself for that. Lorelai knows he’s not going to do that again.

Both the Gilmore girls are dealing with their surprising news as they head down the aisle. Rory says she’s going to Washington.
