Gilmore Girls Episode Recap & Photos:
Emily is on the phone arguing with her lawyer about something maid-related with a libelous scrap of paper involved. One of the former maids is suing for wrongful termination - Lorelai is surprise it’s the first time someone has. The maid walked too noisily. But she pays more than average wages to have things her way, Emily argues, and paid a generous severance package. If she pays for first class, she does not want coach.
Michel and Lorelai are spectators in the latest vegetable debate between Sookie & Jackson. They may end with a professional stand-off, but still with the I Love You’s. Lorelai is going to take a 2-hour small Inn course. Michel, who went to a hotel management school, mocks that.
Paris is not phased by the prom coup that Francie staged. She negotiated the mansion price down to half, so they still have funds for the telescope. Paris is not threatened by Francie. Francie brings health week, and where to place the blood drive table. Madeline screams - hates the word blood. Rory objects to Francie’s suggestion of the gym on the basis of ‘common decency’. Rory has staged her own war with Francie.
Lorelai is requested to give a deposition on behalf of Emily. Lorelai calls Emily to say she won’t lie on her behalf - she cannot honestly say Emily treats her maids fairly. They head to Luke’s - Al’s international grab bag night fare does not look good.
Sookie and Lorelai are bored stiff at the Inn seminar. He’s monotone and not insightful. They know all he has to say already. Lorelai makes a cootie catcher, but they are scolded by the lecturer for playing with it. Then a real estate guy makes a sales pitch. They sneak out. Cookies for consolation? No, they taste like feet.
Sookie is approached by an old friend, Joe, from her days at another lodge. Joe and his business partner Alex are there for a class on opening a coffee place. Lorelai and Alex mock Joe & Sookie’s stories by making up their own. Joe wants to take Sookie out to an old pal’s restaurant in Hartford so they can tick him off by sending back food.
Rory is sent a paper airplane with a message that "we" should meet. Rory writes down a time and place but is distracted by Paris, so doesn’t see who picks it up.
It was Francie. They meet in the underground parking. She wants a truce. Rory shakes hands on that.
Michel stole someone’s dog once, so he says depositions are easy. Heinous but well rested, he agrees.
Joe comes to pick up Sookie at the Inn. Helps her finalize the prep in the kitchen first. He starts talking about second chances, and kicking himself for not asking Sookie out.
Sookie runs out to freak out to Lorelai that Joe thinks it’s a date. She’s flattered that she’s his Daisy, but hopes she didn’t lead him on. She doesn’t know how to break the news to Joe. She does though, quite comically - he’s not mad, which is good.
Rory coaches Lorelai on the deposition - on how to present the truth in a better light. Luke is going to buy food, since Jess forgot to do the ordering. The girls give him their order.
Francie approaches Paris with some ‘hard’ news. Shows her pictures of herself and Rory - with a story that they met secretly to talk about council issues behind Paris’ back. Francie hits back at Rory.
In fencing glass, Paris goes overboard lunging at Rory. Accuses her of backstabbing. Rory admits to meeting with Francie, but Paris is jumping to her own conclusions. Paris says she knows that Francie is trying to manipulate her, but is angry with Rory for still going behind her back. And for telling Francie about Jamie. Paris is upset and can’t believe she considered Rory her best friend.
Rory is angry at herself for falling for Francie’s ploy. And feels bad knowing Paris considered her a best friend. Emily reads to them from Lorelai’s transcribed deposition. Lorelai’s answers seam weak, sarcastic and off-topic. Emily is not impressed. Lorelai knows she got flustered.
Paris et al. avoid Rory at lunch. Francie sends over another paper airplane with "leper" written on it.
Sookie has made a special dinner for Jackson. He clues in on something and thinks that Sookie cheated on him. Sookie explains that she flirted accidentally. Jackson overreacts.
Alex calls Lorelai to ask her to accompany him on his weekend trip to various coffee shops. Lorelai says it’s lucky she’s one of the world’s coffee experts. He says it sounds like fate. And double checks to make sure she knows it’s a date. We leave them chatting on the phone.

Don’t you just love the wackiness of Sookie.
It was very hard for me to believe that Rory fell for Francie’s ploy. I think I had given Rory more credit than that, and I can certainly understand Paris being upset.
Ah, Emily and her help. It will never end with her and Lorelei is quite aware of that. She should have done better by her mother, if not just for the fact that she is her mother.

I think the Rory/Paris/Francie thing is hilarious. I love the cinematography - the whole Deep Throat / parking garage / cigaratte lighter thing. And fencing in gym class. The fight scene is so well choreographed and just so unique! This is one of those times where you can just sort of suspend your disbelief and laugh.

I think Alex and Lor are perfect for each other- my friend and I were going to start up an ‘Alex- The True Gilmore Boy’ campaign… I mean, he likes coffee, loves his kids and figures out that she’s not into fishing and makes the plans for the great lunch… I think he’s perfect…

I think Alex the character on paper was great for lorelai… but the actor was terrible. Lauren blew him off the screen and it made the character weak and unlikable.
