Sally Struthers in “Steel Magnolias”, “Fiddler”, “Annie” & “Nunsense”

Well, isn’t this just a small world? Sally Struthers also has a role in an off-broadway reproduction of "Steel Magnolias" - just not the same one as Kelly Bishop.
Sally Struthers stars as Truvy, the beauty shop owner, in the Casa Mañana reproduction of "Steel Magnolias" which is currently playing in Fort Worth, Texas (it ends tomorrow).
As you know from the earlier plot description, the "Steel Magnolias" stroy takes place in Louisiana, where six women share their lives - the happiness and the tragedy - in Truvy’s beauty salon.
Truvy, Sally Struthers’ character, was played by Dolly Parton in the 1989 movie. She is, by far, the funniest of the characters in the film, and perfect for Sally Struthers.
Sally Struthers gave a witty interview to the Star Telegram. Sally says "the reward of cash is always welcome" when comparing on-stage and off-stage acting, but says that working onstage to a live audience reaction is priceless.
Sally Struthers will be doing a lot of theater work this season. After finishing with "Steel Magnolias," she will play Golde in "Fiddler on the Roof" at the Ogunquit Playouse in Maine, then will reprise her role as Miss Hannigan in "Annie". After that, she will be going on a 20th anniversary road tour with "Nunsense" as Mother Superior.
Also quite exciting - Sally Struthers is in discussions with HGTV for a reality show!

i go to ogunquit, maine every summer, since before i was born. last time i was there she was there just after i left. i think ill be there at the same time this summer though : ) hopefully ill get to see her!
Casa Mañana’s production of Steel Magnolias starring Margaret Colin, Ruta Lee and Sally Struthers was a success. The ladies played to a sold out crowd at each of their eight (8) performances.
Casa Mañana continues to bring in stars of television and film, and we hope you’ll continue to watch out for upcoming events, and maybe come see us sometime.
20th or 25 anniversary of Nunsense? Fun play. I saw Ms. Stuthers in some dreadful shlock about a diner in Boston with James Coco 25+ years ago - they had lots more ability than that script could use.
The play was in Boston, the fictional diner shaped like a giant hamburger was supposedly in S. Calif. Or Nevada.
