Gilmore Girls Fan Video Column

Kelly has volunteered to do a regular fan video review column for us here on Gilmore Girls News - looking at some of the best, or newest, fan videos. Kelly is no stranger to fan videos, having made many herself. You can view Kelly’s YouTube profile here.

This first Gilmore Girls fan video, created by vmars77, is rather new. It is titled "Gilmore Girls - How Far We’ve Come":

Kelly’s review:

For my first "video of the week," I wanted to feature a video that showed the entire cast and captured the spirit of the entire show. I also wanted it to be a video that isn’t too popular yet on youtube, since I hope to draw attention to some of the great videos that may have been overlooked. Anyway, this video, "Gilmore Girls: How Far We’ve Come" by vmars77, fits both those criteria. I think part of the reason why I like this video is because I absolutely love the song choice—not only it a great song, but it’s a perfect choice for a video that focuses on the entire Gilmore Girls series, and it really draws your attention to how far all these characters have come since the first episode. And the clips from the series finale at the end are really well-placed. Combined with great editing that pays close attention to the beat of the music, it makes me feel so nostalgic for my favorite TV show!

I have to agree with Kelly - the pace of the music reminds me a great deal of the Gilmore Girls prattle. And the scenes are incredibly well orchestrated. I also personally like that the video is not in perfect sequence - it jumps back and forth, capturing the evolution of the show through the seasons with each new verse of the song.
