Gilmore Girls Episode Recap & Photos:

Kirk is driving the girls to Luke’s painfully slowly on his new Pedi-Cab service. Kirk can barely breathe, he’s exerting himself so much. The girls decide to get out and walk. Hurt, Kirk blames his "big fat cargo" for slowing him down. He then threatens to eat their favorite doughnuts.

Paris tries to get Rory to eat healthier, perhaps a little self-conscious. They have a social protest later that afternoon - a petition to get Burmese political prisoners released. Janet is stuck getting a ride to Florida for Spring Break with Glen from the Yale Daily News. Rory and Paris are not Spring Break people.

Luke is a little surly, and not so excited about Lorelai’s Dragonfly Inn stationary. As an investor, Lorelai wants to keep Luke involved. Luke admits to what is bothering him - he’s not wearing his own socks. He took them out of the drawer at Nicole’s, but they are not his socks.

Rory and Paris are freezing trying to rally interest in their protest. Glen stops by the table, but only to put down his sandwich. It starts to rain very hard. Rory and Paris run back to the dorm cold and wet and fight over who gets to use the radiator to dry clothes. They bundle up into bed in this "coldest winter ever." Paris says "it’s warm in Florida" - it’s Spring Break, but it’s warm. Bimbos and drunks are a good trade-off for warmth.

Rory is packing for Spring Break, to drive down with Glen. Rory asks if she should have asked Lorelai first. Lorelai says it’s ok, so long as she has veto power. Or rather, that she feels like she has veto power. Lorelai offers some sage advice on drinking and being responsible, then it’s time to go. Lorelai suggests a less-lame bathing suit be a stop on the way there.

Paris is insisting she drive Glen’s van - if she’s going to die in a car crash, she’d prefer it be at her own hand. She’s an aggressive driver. They later arrive to the Sea Sprite Motel in Florida. Paris shaved 3 hours off the trip down. Paris drops money to get them (her, Rory and Janet) a better room and better service. Paris suggests Rory roll in her bed to stake her territory - they are sharing that room with 4 other girls, it would seem. Rory joins in the craziness. The girls stake out the action outside, and are staked out by some guys passing by.

Lorelai oversleeps at Jason’s place - she apparently bit him when he tried to wake her. He’s already been for a run, done laundry, read the paper and made French Toast. Lorelai needs to go to the printer so she tosses the toast and some bacon in a bag and coats it with syrup. Jason gives Lorelai a key to his apartment. He’s very passive / aggressive about it.

Paris has scored them a tent on the beach, along with a table and chairs, and later food. Janet goes to swim laps in the ocean. Who is on the beach? Louise and Madeline! They’ve been there a month already. They ‘own’ the town - have the routine down. Paris is up for new things, so they explain the rules. To find the right hot club each night, and to sleep mid afternoon for the best party stamina. To avoid carding, flirt or even make-out with each other to get in. Madeline and Louise have found kissing each other opens doors to anything they want from guys.

Rory and Paris have pizza and videos for their wild night. Paris is a little disappointed Asher hasn’t called. They are watching Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth. Rory asks if they are doing Spring Break right. They should try to commit and experience it with others outside the room. Well, starting tomorrow.

Rory presents a picture of guys fighting with giant Q-Tips to Lorelai. Rory smiles at the guy who said ‘hey’ to her earlier. Madeline and Louise leave, not being able to compete with the twins who also kiss. Paris suggests Rory go get them a drink, so she can talk to the guy. Paris takes off for the banana eating competition - ‘real’ food.

Rory goes for said drink, gets a Red Bull. Tries to make small talk with the cute guy. His friends call him away before they can really talk. Paris storms by angry - "excuse me for thinking a banana eating contest was about eating a banana."

The girls go that night to a club. Madeline and Louise bump into the twins to ruin their outfits. Paris and Rory dance a bit - Paris notices the cute guy is there too. Paris suggests Rory buy him a drink. He turns away from her. Madeline and Louise are dancing with some hot guys, Janet is doing shots - why is everyone having a better time than they are? Paris says they are not trying hard enough. Paris grabs Rory and kisses her. Rory gets angry - she doesn’t want to do what Madeline and Louise do. Paris then tries to ask Rory if she was a good kisser. Rory goes for some air but bumps into the cute guy. He was turned on by Rory kissing Paris.

Jason is not talking much on his date with Lorelai. Jason is worried he did the key wrong - it was supposed to say something. This is the point when he usually breaks up with a woman. When he runs. His time went off - he thought about Lorelai and their relationship and what bugs him - and he came up with nothing. He doesn’t have the "I want out" feeling. Instead, he felt like he’d be a dunce if he screwed it up. So, he went out and got the key. The talking key. He wants Lorelai in his life more. Lorelai is touched by the romantic gesture. They kiss.

Lorelai checks her messages - Luke has left a message that he needs a ride. "Oh, hell, I’m in jail." Lorelai’s jaw drops. Lorelai runs to bail him out.

Everyone in the club was buzzing about Rory & Paris’ kiss. They are drinking now, by the pool. Paris freely talks about Asher. Rory mouths "old." Paris hopes Asher is not sick of her. Rory is seeing two spinning Paris’. Madeline and Louise ask after Dean, the gorgeous boyfriend. Rory says he’s fine and definitely still gorgeous. Louise predicts it won’t work - Dean was too in love with Rory. Madeline dial’s Dean’s number on Rory’s phone. Rory leaves a drunken message that they were talking about him. Rory decides to go throw up.

Lorelai bails out Luke and takes him back to his truck. Lorelai offers to listen if he has anything to say about what happened, but promises not to bother him about it ever again. Luke wanted to see who owned the socks. Nicole had been vague on her plans, he had a feeling. Nicole and another man went into their place. How could she do this? Luke got so angry he had to do something. He kicked the other guy’s car. Many times. Until the cops come.

Luke feels like an idiot - he became a crazy jealous guy. Luke shows Lorelai the car - not a scratch. Dent resistant panels. They are still in the townhouse. Luke talks about the little blue pill, and knowing what they are doing in there. Luke starts to kick the car again. "I guess that’s it," Luke says. Lorelai says at least she got to finally see his house.

Rory and Paris stumble along the beach. Rory asks if they are done Spring Break. Paris goes over a checklist aloud - sees the throwing up as coming soon, so check. They experienced the social ritual. And Rory has no desire to feel that way again. Paris suggests they go home - on her frequent flyer miles. Glen comes stumbling out of the ocean a little worse for wear. I’d say he’s on something, not just drunk. Rory says it’s been a good trip.

Lorelai was in a panic because she called the Motel and Rory was not there. Rory forgot to tell Lorelai that she came back to Yale early. Rory jokes that she had to clear coming home, but not going away. Rory says she and Paris took turns throwing up. Rory’s hangover food - mac ‘n cheese. Lorelai is shocked by the Power of Myth, not by the Rory & Paris kiss.

Rory gets a call from Dean. He calls to chat about how things were. He even wrote a couple questions down. Rory smiles as she sits on her bead.

So, like, guys, what does a banana eating contest mean?

er, some girls have more flair when eating bananas, particularly those who have practiced another activity. use your imagination. this is a family board.

Speaking of family board, I was hoping that this episode would stick a fork in gratuitous girl/girl kissing scenes, but it really didn’t. Give the people what they want, I suppose…

to answer your question. “couldnt rory have hung up instead of leaving a mesage?” i have always wondered that!but i guess it was more intresting that she left the message. also she was supposed to be drunk so maybe her thoughts wernt clear lol
