Lauren Graham Rejects Cupid
Ausiello is reporting news that ABC was pitching Lauren Graham to be in the revival of the 90s dramedy Cupid. Lauren Graham was approached by Rob Thomas (writer of Veronica Mars) to play the lead opposite Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale.
"I love Lauren Graham. Bobby loves Lauren Graham. We explored the possibility, but we were told it wasn’t what she wanted to do right now."
Cupid ran for only 14 episodes before it was cancelled in 1999, though it had a huge cult following. Created by Rob Thomas and starring Jeremy Piven and Paula Marshall, it was about a Chicago psychologist who is given charge of a man who believes he is cupid sent from Mt. Olympus by Zeus to connect 100 couples without his powers. The revival of the show will be based in LA
What do you think? Is it still to early to return to television for Lauren Graham, or perhaps is this just not the right role for her?

I don’t know if I can imagine Lauren as another character as Lorelai on tv. I saw because I said so and in every scene she was in, I thought it’s Lorelai. The talk, the act, the look…. totally Lorelai!

I agree I think the concept sounded stupid for Lauren Graham’s range of acting ability. She needs a show that has a good focus on a strong lead female character who has serious moments as well as funny moments.

I am also glad she didnt do it. It would probabl just be cancelled like the one in the 90’s. I so hope that someone writes something decent for her to star in-soon.
