Gilmore Girls Campaign
There is another Gilmore Girls campaign under way. I’m not 100% sure where it originated, but the aim of the campaign is (as they all are) to either bring back the series or to promote the tv movie option.
The instructions:
Send anything pertaining to Luke/Lorelai OR Rory/Logan. A Post card, box of snowflakes, anything you want.
Attach to what you send a note saying "June 3rd… we want our wedding!"
Send this before June 3rd of this year to:
Amy Sherman-Palladino
c/o Creative Artists Agency
New York
162 5th Avenue, 6th Floor
New York, NY 10010

It’s been nearly a full year since Gilmore Girls ended it’s final episode. I’m not sure if this is the year when we can get a good push to bring Gilmore Girls back, but never lose hope! Whether it’s this year or a few years from now, there is always hope!

I feel really sorry for the staff at Creative Artists who will need to deal with all of the crap that people send in if they listen to you.
The decision about bringing the show back (won’t happen) or a tv movie is up to Amy and many others. It’s a professional, business decision that won’t be affected by sending in a bunch of trinkets. I’m sorry to be so pessimistic, but that’s the way the industry works. Maybe you’d have a better shot if people at least wrote heartfelt letters about how the show affected them, rather than sending in a bunch of luke/lorelei/rory miscellany.

Agreed - and I think that once the Sex in the City movie comes out if it is successful then there will be a better chance.
I think too that Amy may not be the right person to be contacting - isn’t there some executive who would be in a better position to push for this?

Have there been any other shows who have had at least a year long hiatus and then have come back successfully? I really have no idea, but if anyone knows, please post the answer!
If GG was back on the air, I think they’d get a great response as long as it doesn’t go down the same road as season seven. Just a movie would be so huge in my book! Ah! That kind of good news would bring anyone out of a depression!

No offense JSowl and Mimi, but fan dedication can bring shows back or bring about made for TV movies. I was a fan of a show that went off the air in 1995. It was a smaller show (not nearly as popular as GG), but the fans were OUTRAGED about it’s ending. So, we sent the President of ABC something every Friday to remind him that there was a fan following for the show and that his efforts would not go unnoticed. Finally, 5 years after the series ended, he finally agreed to make 3 made-for-TV movies. He credited the “loyal fan following” for the decision.
So it CAN happen! I don’t know if it’ll happen now or in 5 years, but it can happen if we’re persistent enough! All we need is a made-for-TV…we don’t need a Sex and the City movie-theater movie. So STAY STRONG FANS!

Shows can come back because fans refuse to let it die. I have seen it happen already with two other shows that I watched, and got unfairly canceled.
I miss GG so much.

Well I think it’s a great idea because i am still a loyal fan to the show weather it be on DVD or reruns on tv-I think we deserve a better ending as a movie or we deserve another whole season. It wouldn’t hurt the CW to give into GG fans and reconcile some kind of deal with Amy and Dan…if it wasn’t for the CW’s reluctance to give Amy and Dan another raise or a better deal at the end of season 6 then we wouldn’t have lost our show to a crappy season 7-also The CW heard the fans of 7th Heaven so why can’t they hear the fans of Gilmore Girls I think there should be a stream of GG reminders sent to the CW also reminding them of the part they played in us losing our show-but that’s only my opinion…Amy is now free to work on the idea of GG another season or a GG reunion movie I’d rather have more seasons though-anyway I feel the need as well for more GILMORE GIRLS SEASON OR MOVIE……………

I agree with Marissa. I will do anything to get Gilmore Girls back on any kind of screen, so whats the point of at least not trying?

The point should be that ASP mentioned specifically that she can’t do a THING without Peter Roth from the WB production studios to give her the greenlight. So this “sending stuff” thing should go to Peter first. Not just ASP. Also, these same people need to send stuff to other people connected to GG as well to gain total support. Just sending stuff to ASP will be a waste.

I agree with Jillian and she’s right about Peter Roth. i think even I remember ASP saying to target him however it still would be nice for ASP to start working on it in some way even if it’s just her watching what they did to season 7 of Gilmore Girls so she gets a better idea of how she would make a GG movie or a season 8…..I’d be interested in hearing what she thought about how they really did with season 7!!!!

It was the show “Christy.” It was on in 1994 and went off the air in 1995 after only 19 episodes. The outpouring of support was so strong that they made THREE made for TV movies… and Christy has a much smaller fanbase than GG!

Family Guy went off the air for several years before being returned to the air as well. I like to think that was involved in that shows return because I gave speeches and raised awareness when I went to college. I know that is lame but I say it to say that this is possible, just as long as loyal fans get the word out and really try and show their appreciation for the work that each person put into the show on and off screen.
