A Message from Scott Patterson

by Arieanna on June 26th, 2008

Scott Patterson has sent a message to his fans by Lea Gaines, his publicist. Scott, who pursues many avenues of craft, gives us an update on all fronts. The message reads:

"Hey gang.

Saw5 was great fun and, I assure you all, under the steady hand of new director David Hackel and returning director of photograghy David Armstrong, the franchise looks and feels and sounds better than ever. Producer Dan Heffner, again, did a masterful job assembling another cracker jack crew. WARNING - some of the traps in 5 are so terrifying that even this experienced crew had to take a break, walk outside to stop shaking. grown men reduced to a blubbering mess…..and I was one of them. Still having nightmares.

Been home two weeks and have not had a chance to slow down with all the TV meetings. Haven’t found that perfect thing yet, but you will be the first to know when I do. Some excellent pilots being shot. Very impressed with the quality out there, though I may want to take a break from series television.

Aliens News - game, set, match. Lindsey, Dan and Adhir are all doing great and I think they will all be huge mega-stars. Three very talented actors and the nicest people you could ever hope to work with. Love em.

Movie News -I have been offered a wonderful indie film that will give me the opportunity to act, produce AND contribute some of my music. Very excited about this film as the writer is an exciting new talent and kindred spirit. Details coming.

Screenplays - 8 completed, 2 in development. I may need the paper in case I run out of fire wood. Also….trying to get the life story rights to one of my idols growing up. It’s a film I want to direct, as well as write.

Pilots - One completed and currently being read at a network - news coming.

Art - in process of moving to a new, bigger studio studio with tons of natural light! Also, considering building a website so that i can offer my work online.

That’s it for now, gang. remember to love each other and to tell the people closest to you that you are there for them. all we have is each other, ourselves.

What a great message! I love that he writes to his fans and tells us what’s going on in his mind and his life. Thanks for posting.

The more I learn about Scott, the more I wish I knew him. He seems like an unbelievably wonderful man.

I agree, that IS a GREAT message. He is so nice and attractive too. O love him as Lukes Danes and Agent too. HE is such a good person and I met him one time in NYcity, he is the nicest to fans and Lorela from Gilmore Girls.

It is fantastic (and fun!) that Scott takes the time to let his fans know what he’s doing and hoping/planning to do in future. The only thing that astonishes me more is how one person can have so many varied projects and endeavors - acting, writing, directing. Scott didn’t even mention his songwriting, we know he’s a serious gym rat, kickboxer, traveler, reader, artist, and who knows what else?!!

Am hoping and praying that these projects come to fruition - the sooner, the better. I wish it weren’t such a tough time as far as the economy that doesn’t bode well for indies for the time being. I bet Scott’s a great screenwriter and will make a fantastic, sensitive director.

All exciting prospects - provided, of course, that he continues working in front of the camera! Clearly he personifies “independent spirit,” and I’d love to see him acting on the big screen (i.e., in addition to the SAW series). I’d also love to see him in a tv series made for cable - so much more latitude there.

Alas! - after this summer, I’ll be grateful to see him starring in new weekly episodes in virtually any genre. I for one am going to have a serious ‘monkey on my back’ when Aliens in America goes off the air.

Good luck, Scott! - with all of the above - and more!!!

NOTE: I feel it necessary to submit a correction - because otherwise, Areanna, the first line of this item is highly misleading. Scott has professional representation - naturally. Lea Gaines is not his publicist, per se. She is a fellow fan and admirer of Scott who’s fortunate enough to have become acquainted with him (VERY! … fortunate, that is!) She serves as a conduit for Scott - making it possible for him to communicate directly with his fans without the press interviews, media releases, and other typical “blah-blah’s” of the entertainment biz. Thanks to the goodness of Lea’s heart, we get to hear from Scott occasionally - in his own words! How great is that?!

And to top it off - he often signs off with positive, life- and love-affirming messages such as the one above. [sigh] VERY cool!!!!!

Thank-you Scott for such a positive message to all of us. We miss seeing you regularly but know that it’s important to make the right choices for you when it comes to t.v. and movies etc. Luke Danes is my ideal man…no doubt about it and eventhough I know that’s not who you really are, I think you give him some first place competition in the real man department. God bless you and keep in touch.

Scott will always personify Luke Danes for me or as Lorelai called him “the perfect man” and although no actor wants to be stereotyped, it is a great compliment for him to have played that character so well that he has made a lasting impression on the fans of Gilmore Girls. I will always seek out any new role he undertakes. His career did not end with Gilmore Girls and I sincerely hope that many great roles will come his way for him to express all of his talent. I liked Aliens, but not necessarily the character he had to play in that short lived series. A bit of a let down after Luke Danes. Unfortunately I won’t see him in any Saw movie, I don’t have the stomach for horror films, but I hope to see him again in a successful series or move. Scott is not only a great actor, but from all accounts I have heard and read he is also a great guy.
