The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 - Coming Soon

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 will be coming to a theater near you on Wednesday August 6, 2008. Starring Alexis Bledel, Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, and Blake Lively, the movie follows the four friends in their first year of college. The movie catches up with book four of on Ann Brashares’ best-selling novels.
Tibby, Carmen, Bridget and Lena have been apart all year, and their summer plans will take them even further apart. Each experiences love, freedom, choices and challenges in life as they grow into adults. The girls will find out that it takes more than a pair of pants to keep them together.
"The ‘Sisterhood’ is popular because it’s so relatable," notes producer Debra Martin Chase. "The movies I like best, and strive to make, are what I call ‘universal in the specific.’ They’re simply about life, with themes that touch people, regardless of gender or generation. This is a story about four young women, but it’s also about the kinds of things we all go through to find ourselves and our place in the world."
After a year at Yale, Carmen (America Ferrera) feels displaced at her home with the expectant arrival of a new baby, so jumps at the chance to work backstage at a theater festival, catching the eye of the play’s leading man and finding a new love in acting. Tibby (Amber Tamblyn) is in NY working on her NYU film project and taking her relationship with Brian McBrian (Leonardo Nam) to the next level, confronting her own fear of love.
Bridget (Blake Lively) struggles with the loss of her mother and her past, so goes on an archeological dig in Turkey. But realizes she can’t keep running away from her problems. Lena (Alexis Bledel) has moved on from her first love, Kostos, and is studying at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she crushes on fellow art student Leo (Jesse Williams). Leo flows in and out of relationships easily, a lifestyle that is foreign to Lena. Lena must decide to follow romance or stay true to herself.
With the girls so far apart, and changing so quickly, they will struggle to stay in touch. They will have to learn a new way to share their lives, while also taking the distance they need to learn what they can do individually. Follow them as they learn how to find themselves, and each other, in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, in theaters on August 6th. Check out the gallery of photos below:

Something Looks Different about Alexis Bledel Like she Changed something I just can’t put my finger on it.

Alexis is STILL the prettiest.
Lauren Graham has such a class. An accomplished artist and woman! When we are related to such lovely person, the influence is there. The part Alexis Bledel had on GG forced her to adopt some elitist attitudes; Rory’s grand parents weren’t middle class people either. The school Rory went, Yale University, the people she met, her ambitions, what she learned, all of that and more influenced the way of moving, the talking and so on of the artist. All of this was subdued, of course, the level of the language was always good, but never complicated, so, the result was natural, and almost unnoticeable. That doesn’t mean she’s not under good influence now, whatever they are, she has the training of model behind her, but it’s not the same: She is Alexis Bledel the artist, the woman two years older, who lives something else after having work SEVEN years on GG, filming 14 hours a day, each day, for an hour show.
When she started GG, she was leaving adolescence, entering to that mysterious, and marvelous path of finality, now, the revolution is accomplished, she a woman.
I’m always hoping the best for Alexis’ career. And after all these years, she’’s still & always have a good head on her shoulder”.

when is this released in england, and will it be in cinemas?
It appears that the stars are doing minimal promotional work for this movie. Amber Tamblyn is doing appearances on Regis and Kelly and America Ferrerra is appearing on Conan. So far nothing on the horizon for either Alexis or Blake Lively. I find this a bit surprising.
