Excerpt From “Coffee At Luke’s” Available

October 22, 2009 by Maria Diaz

You may know about the book Coffee At Luke’s, a collection of essays about the Gilmore Girls world. If you haven’t read it yet, Smart Pop Books has just posted one of the essays available on their website for free. It’s called “Whimsy Goes With Everything” and is written by author Heather Swain. It’s all about her desire to abandon her life in New York City and move to Stars Hollow. But what it’s really about is how much she loves Kirk! Here’s an excerpt:

“Kirk Gleason: entrepreneur, artiste, town docent. I love him. But not in the way that you might think. I’m not talking in the pedestrian, overused trite way that the word love is tossed about in reference to haircuts, new shoe fashions, and extremely rich desserts. When I say I love Kirk, I mean that i’m in love with Kirk and Lulu better watch her back. He’s the reason I keep showing up in Stars Hollow for my weekly fix of quirk and whimsy, and he’s the reason I’m chucking the Big Apple to move to the Nutmeg State.”

The free excerpt will only be up for a week, so check out the essay while you can at Smart Pop Books!

Delightful treatise, too bad she did not write the screenplay for “Post Grad”!!
