Amy Sherman-Palladino Not Giving Up On The Idea Of A Gilmore Girls Movie
November 17, 2009 by Maria Diaz
You’re not in a dream, Gilmore Girls fans! In a chat with Mike Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly, Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino reveals that not only is she in touch with Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, she has not closed the door on a potential Gilmore Girls film in the future. She tells Ausiello:
“If I thought it was definitely not going to happen, I would say, ‘No, it’s definitely not going to happen,’” she adds. “I would do that for you, my friend. But I don’t want to say that. Because I think that the beauty of Gilmore, and the beauty of family relationship shows is, you never really run out of story. You’re going to battle your family until you’re all in the ground. Those things never resolve, doesn’t matter how much therapy you get. Ten years later, there’s still going to be [material] there to mine and to delve into.”
She also says she’s never watched the final season, which she was famously not involved with and that she wanted “different things” for Rory Gilmore. What different things do you think those are? And now that Amy’s said this, are you more hopeful about seeing the Gilmores on the big screen?

I would LOVE to see a GG movie!!!!!! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!
Would love to see a Gilmore Girls movie sooooo much…
I was so disappointed with the everyone pretty much ending up alone. We need more happily ever after….that is why we watch tv……..a movie would be excellent.
I REALLY hope they make a gilmore girl movie. i miss the show and i wish that rory and jess could have had more screen time together they were amazing together.
I would LOVE a Gilmore Girls movie where Rory & Logan get married! They were perfect for each other and really balanced each other out. They should NEVER have split them up – it was a horrible way to end the series. Please fix it!
