Sam’s music adds to the “awesomeness” of anything it is applied to.

Do not enter me in the contest though. I already have the subscription and at only about a dozen songs so far, it has been well worth the money.

Started listening to Sam when Sam was Leslie and I was in college totally stricken with her. Met her twice in the ’80s…thrilled :)

I love me some Sam! Was so happy she got the gig as composer. I had been a fan of hers before the show started and when I saw an episode, I recognized her voice and music immediately… just had to wait for the credits to confirm it was her. I thought she was a great choice for the show.

  12. Darryl says:

Would love to hear the latest and greatest Sam via subscription.

  13. I was a fan of Sam Phillips before I ever saw the Gilmore Girls. I heard her song “I Need Love” on the movie Stealing Beauty and was hooked. The first time I ever saw Gilmore Girls, I heard her voice and KNEW it was Sam Phillips!

For me, the ditties in the show by Sam really make the show so much more special. They improve scenes in a way that cannot be explained. The moments and Lor and Rory’s life are what they are, but the moment one of Sam’s ditties comes in the scene, I get even more emotionally invested. Something about her music brings the scene to life and makes me feel more.

Aside from the ditties, though, there were a few songs by Sam that absolutely made some of the most memorable moments on the show. One is “Reflecting Light” the first time we got to see real romance blossoming between Lor and Luke. I LOVED that scene and love that song. Another song is “Taking Pictures” when we see Lor and Luke’s relationship crumble. Both of those songs are beautiful, and they totally made those scenes memorable.

  14. Andrew says:

    I’ll play!
