Yahoo! TV Dubs Lorelai Gilmore One Of TV’s Best Single Moms

November 30, 2009 by Maria Diaz

lorelai-gilmore.jpgIt’s a tough job, but these ladies do it with humor and style: Yahoo! TV has made a list of their favorite women representing single motherhood on the tube, and naturally our girl Lorelai Gilmore is on it. Interestingly enough, it’s inspired by the recent order for new episodes from Jenna Elfman’s Accidentally On Purpose, which featured David Sutcliffe (Christopher on Gilmore Girls) in a two episodes! Here’s what Yahoo TV has to say about the reason they chose Lorelai:

“Lorelai Gilmore showed us that it’s possible for single motherhood to have no relationship to wearing mom jeans and driving carpool. With an enviably close relationship with her teenage daughter, a Rosalind-Russell-as-Hildy-Johnson conversational style, a massive tolerance for caffeine and a relationship with her parents that doesn’t even begin to be described by the word “difficult,” she created a vivid picture of the complexities — and fun — of parenthood after the “After School Special” where the teenage girl decides to keep her baby.”

Other women on the list include Murphy Brown, Miranda Hobbs from Sex and The City, and Alicia from The Good Wife.
