Gilmore Girls Trivia: Michel Babysits
In our latest trivia question, we asked: Which is Lorelai’s back-up code name? And you answered:
- Tookie Clothespin 199 - 34% of all votes
- Tootsie Rollingpin 72 - 12% of all votes
- Squeegy Beckinheim 289 - 49% of all votes
- Sticky Roundehouse 24 - 4% of all votes
Total Votes: 584
Now, this one was a bit of a trick question based on how I asked it and how well you remember the scene between Lorelai & Rory in episode 3.06 ‘Take the Deviled Eggs…‘. As the video clip below shows, Lorelai shares that she often gives fake names to stores to see how many catalogue companies her name is sold to. The first name (her code name) she used was Squeegy Beckinheim, but then she forgot her code name, so used her back-up code name, Tookie Clothespin.

Gilmore Girls Trivia: Lorelai’s Flask
It’s that time again! From our last Gilmore Girls trivia question, check out the answer: What treat do Michel & Lorelai share at Weston’s when they make the list of Inn repairs?
- Red Velvet Cake 335 - 78% of all votes
- Angel Food Cake 22 - 5% of all votes
- Lava Cake 17 - 4% of all votes
- Coffee Cake 55 - 13% of all votes
Total Votes: 429
Once again, the majority are correct (though I see I got a few of you with the coffee cake option!). In the episode ‘You’ve Been Gilmored‘ from Season 6, Michel is hurt that Lorelai didn’t think their once-a-month fix-it-list meeting at Weston’s was not a special day. Michel looked forward to the trip every month, indulging in the Red Velvet Cake.
“That’s our thing! We get very large coffees and we split a slice of red velvet cake, and we gossip and I eat the whole cake and you never tell anyone.”

Kim’s Antiuqes is "Closed for Wedding" and Mrs. Kim happily oversees a kitchen full of Korean women making kimchi, soon to be making dumplings. Lane comes down and is swarmed by her nosy relatives - but sent back upstairs to her hot kimchi-smelling room so the cooking is done on time.
Lorelai comes by with Lane’s wedding dress. Mrs. Kim gets a call and comes out rather distracted. Lorelai pulls out the dress for her, and tells her she made some modifications due to stains, but tried to keep the integrity of the dress. Though it is a whole new dress, essentially (Lane has a huge smile for this), Mrs. Kim doesn’t even notice. Lorelai tells Lane to hide the dress so Mrs. Kim doesn’t notice it has a waist until it’s too late.

Gilmore Girls Episode Recap:
Everyone is trying very hard to keep things civil for Friday night dinner. Emily & Richard are still touchy about Yale though. Lolelai puts a temporary ban on talking about Yale and starts the night afresh. Richard wishes to yell at the people "who deserve it" but instead yells at Emily. Lorelai counts back from five and Richard then says "I love shrimp" to change the topic.
Emily asks how Luke is doing, if they are still engaged. She hasn’t received her "save the date" card. Emily persists on knowing when the wedding will be, so Lorelai blurts out June 3rd. Emily comments on how soon that is and that they haven’t seen Luke in a long time. Emily insists that Luke come to dinner the next Friday, as Richard will be traveling a lot. Emily plays Lorelai by suggesting Luke is not really the man she wants in her life if he won’t come to dinner that Friday. A "not no" becomes a "yes" and Emily says she’ll pick up some save the date cards for Lorelai.

Gilmore Girls Episode Recap:
It’s a town meeting and Taylor has staged a skit about the Stars Hollow from 1779 with Kirk and Andrew playing the parts of the residents. 1779 is the year Stars Hollow was founded, and the point of the skit is how the street names have changed since that time. Taylor wants to revert the Stars Hollow street names to what they used to be.
Taylor says their tourism revenue has gone down, while the revenue in neighboring towns has gone up. Why? They are highlighting their historical charm. Changing street names will cost money, but Taylor says it would be an investment. Gypsy is not fond of printing new business cards, but Lorelai thinks it would be cool. One of his less disastrous ideas to get tourism to Stars Hollow.

The girls have plans for their own Friday night dinner. Before going, Paris tries to get Lorelai to be an anecdote in her paper, talking about loneliness and her break-up.
