Alexis Bledel Says Script Done for “Sin City 2″

July 2, 2009 by Arieanna

Alexis Bledel The Good Guy PremiereEarlier this year, Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) shared that she would be reprising her role as Becky in Sin City 2, a movie that has been rumored to be in the making for many years.

According to MTV, Alexis Bledel has been told that the script for Sin City 2 is complete, and it will definitely be a prequel film, at least as far as her character is concerned.

“Someone told us yesterday that there’s a script. I don’t know what their source was, but they said they read the second script. … Apparently, [I’m] back because it’s a prequel. Because [I’m] supposed to die in the first one. But you don’t see it, so maybe she doesn’t.”

I’ll keep you posted as news develops. I know that Alexis Bledel loved her role in Sin City, saying recentlyI wish I had been able to do more roles like I did in ‘Sin City’ — roles that were starkly different along the way.

Alexis Bledel Says Rory Was Too Perfect

June 19, 2009 by Arieanna

Alexis Bledel ART PartyIn an interview published this week, Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) talks about her upcoming film, Post Grad, and about her experience portraying Rory on Gilmore Girls.

Alexis shares a few tidbits about the relevancy of the film today, but is quickly asked about how she wanted to make Ryden different from Gilmore Girls’ Rory. In comparing the two characters, Alexis says:

“Well, as the years went by on Gilmore Girls, I noticed that Rory was kind of like an idealized product of the show’s imagination because she was really perfect in a lot of ways, which started to annoy me a bit, but you have to keep playing the character. But Ryden -– I think she’s much more relatable in a lot of ways and this character’s story picks up in the same stage of life where Rory left off, graduating from college. So for anyone who likes the show, its kind of -– it’s a continuation in a way, but she’s a completely different girl because she makes a lot of mistakes. She has a very typical college experience. She’s kind of an average girl, and I can relate much more to her.”

I have to agree with Alexis here and I think that Season 6 and 7 of Gilmore Girls suffer from this perfection. It’s not just limited to the character of Rory, though. I think all the characters became too perfectly coiffed, with things that came too easily to them (relationships aside). Many of us bonded with Gilmore Girls because the characters were realistic - they ran out of clothes, they were late to class, they made mistakes. That realism was lost as the series progressed (in my opinion). I always thought that Alexis seemed the most disconnected from this perfect-Rory, so it’s nice to hear Alexis talk about it.

June 12, 2009 by Arieanna

Alexis Bledel’s (Rory Gilmore) Post Grad co-star Zach Gilford recently sang her praises in an interview.

During the interview, Zach was asked how it was to work with Alexis Bledel. He replies:

“She’s so cool and normal and down to earth. I was so fortunate. We’ve remained pretty good friends. My family, they’re all huge Gilmore Girls fans, so they were freaking out when they found out I was working with her. And I had never even seen an episode. And I was like, “She’s cool, she’s normal.” She’s like the sweetest, nicest person ever.”

Zach continues, saying that many actors who have been on a show for so long could end up with an inflated ego. However, Zach says that Alexis “keeps her head about her”, avoiding the club scene and keeping her work life and her life separate in a “professional way.” Zach says he really respects that about Alexis.

Zach and Alexis co-star in Post Grad, which will be released on August 21, 2009.
