“Supernatural” May See Season 6
June 4, 2009 by Arieanna
Fans of Jared Padalecki & of Supernatural will be thrilled to know that the series will likely see not only a 5th season, but a 6th!
Supernatural saw a resurgence of success with its 4th season. The creator of the show, Erik Kripke, had always wanted the series to end after 5 seasons, however. That would let it go out on a high note. Of course, fans hate that idea! However, at a European convention, Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles revealed that they will be returning for a 6th season. Both stars are signed on for a 6th season, so if the network gives the series a green light, they’re in for it. Whether Erik Kripke, who only has a 5-year contract with the network, will continue… that’s another thing! Check out more commentary on this news here and here.
And don’t forget to pre-order your copy of the Supernatural: The Complete Fourth Season DVD.

Pre-Order DVDs with Gilmore Girls Stars
June 2, 2009 by Arieanna
You can now pre-order the DVDs for Heroes - Season Three (starring Milo Vengimialia) & Supernatural: The Complete Fourth Season (starring Jared Padalecki). I personally enjoyed both series’ this past season, though Supernatural was fantastic beyond compare. Heroes made a bit of a comeback, so I look forward to where next season will go!
In addition, you can pre-order Samantha Who?: The Complete Second Season (starring Melissa McCarthy), which (unless the petition is successful) is the last season of the show. The DVD will *probably* contain the un-aired final episodes. Cancelled early in 2008 and also available on DVD are My Own Worst Enemy: The Complete Series (starring Mädchen Amick) and Trust Me (starring Vanessa Marano). And for those David Sutcliffe fans, don’t forget Private Practice: The Complete Second Season .
Gilmore Girls stars made SO many guest appearances on tv in the past year that I can’t name all the DVDs. But you’re sure to find the talented cast appearing in lots of your favorite shows!

“Supernatural” Season 4 Wrap-Up
May 19, 2009 by Arieanna
This weekend I finally had a chance to watch the season finale of Supernatural, starring Gilmore Girls alumn Jared Padalecki (Dean on Gilmore Girls). And WOW. What a season. I’ve always thought this was their strongest season - so much growth in the characters, but also a lot of fun stuff thrown in. Very creative (remember the black/white episode?).

Jared Padalecki had a lot of inner turmoil to portray this season. His character, Sam Winchester, had to battle his inner “evil” self, the demon blood that was forced into him as a baby. Sam wanted to turn that into something good - a way to take down Lilith, who threatened to break the 66 seals keeping the devil in prison. But his brother Dean (Jensen Ackles) worried that Sam was being used by the demons. And when he became a blood addict… that was disturbing. Read more

In ‘That Damn Donna Reed,’ Dean comes over to the Gilmore house with a pizza and a salad, explaining it as “a quaint dish sometimes used to precede large quantities of pizza.” That just gets strange looks from Rory and Lorelai.

“Heroes” and “Supernatural” Hotness
March 26, 2009 by Arieanna
Ok, I think all of you know already that I’m a huge fan of both Heroes and Supernatural, which star Gilmore Girls hunks Milo Ventimiglia and Jared Padalecki. I don’t even care that Heroes ratings are going down, I am still enjoying the season (and personally think ratings are becoming a defunct way to measure a show’s success).

Anyway, I try to post updates regularly here on GilmoreGirlsNews.com about what I think about the progress in each show, sharing as well some new pictures related to the episodes. I now have access to even more photos than I did before, so this post is all about sharing some of that!
Let’s start out with Supernatural, which has had its best season yet (I think) and has a brand new episode tonight! There’s been a lot of tension between the brothers, not to mention the whole angel vs demon dynamic. In tonight’s episode, the boys are leading separate and normal lives… because they have amnesia! Check out more episodic images from next week’s episode (since none were released for tonight’s), as well as a few before, and some hunky photoshoot images I only now had access to post!! Read more

For those curious, that means that Jared Padalekci (Dean Forester on Gilmore Girls) will get Supernatural Season 5, that Chad Michael Murray (Tristan Dugray on Gilmore Girls) will get One Tree Hill Season 7, and that Rob Estes (Jimmy on Gilmore Girls) will get 90210 Season 2. 90210 also boasts Gilmore Girls writer Rebecca Kirshner and Gilmore Girls producer Gayle Abrams.
Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, The CW, says that these six shows have “clearly contributed to strengthening our schedule and our brand identity” particularly as it’s related to being a destination for young women. Read more
Talking Horror Movies With Jared & Riki
February 16, 2009 by Arieanna
It’s a time for horror movies! Jared Padalecki’s (Dean Forester on Gilmore Girls) horror movie, Friday the 13th, opened in theaters on the weekend and topped the box office, taking in more than $42.2 million, the highest-grossing Presidents Day weekend movie ever and the highest ever earnings for any horror movie. And then there’s Riki Lindhome’s (Juliet from the Life & Death Brigade on Gilmore Girls) upcoming suspense thriller The Last House on the Left, which opens on March 13, 2009. Each star has given a number of interviews, so I thought I’d share some elements of those!

In an interview with Fangoria, Jared Padalecki talks about upcoming spoilers for Supernatural, admitting how he’d like to take his character through a dark period. He also talks about how Jason (from Friday the 13th) *almost* made it into an episode of Supernatural! Jared also has a much longer interview with Moviehole that I suggest you check out!
Riki Lindhome talked with Fearnet about her upcoming horror film, with Riki admitting she’s quite the horror fan now. She thought her character in the film was “creepy for no apparent reason“, which made her fun to play. She expects people will be quite shocked!
“Friday the 13th” Opens Today
February 13, 2009 by Arieanna
Jared Padalecki (Dean Forester on Gilmore Girls) stars in horror film Friday the 13th which opens today (premiere photos). As you know from earlier in the week, Jared also was on The Bonnie Hunt Show to talk about his movie.
Jared Padalecki talks about living in Vancouver, where he films Supernatural, and where I live (remember when I interviewed Jared this summer?). Jared talks about how he got noticed in acting, which is a great story if you don’t know it (it had to do with the Teen Choice Awards). And they show a little clip from Friday the 13th too.
Will you be watching Friday the 13th this weekend?
Jared & Arielle at “Friday the 13th” Premiere
Jared Padalecki (Dean Forester on Gilmore Girls) was joined on the red carpet last night by his Gilmore Girls ex-wife Arielle Kebbel (Lindsay Lister then Forester on GG) for the premiere of his upcoming film Friday the 13th which opens this Friday.
Although the two didn’t stand together for photos, it was great to see that they’re still friends after the show! And speaking of Jared Padalecki and Gilmore Girls, I came across an interview with Jared in which he talks about his first experience of reading something about himself online, and it related to the show.
“When I started playing Dean on Gilmore Girls, I had long hair and then they cut it. That’s when I found out about how people talk about you on the Internet. I went online and someone was like, ‘Dean got his hair cut and he looks cute.’ The next person was like, ‘He looks like an idiot. It’s ugly.’ And I was like, ‘That’s kind of mean. Why would somebody say that?’ I just don’t think people should say hurtful things about you on the Internet. So I don’t go there much anymore.”
Poor Jared! Anyway, we still think he’s great, even if he doesn’t stop by GilmoreGirlsNews.com
Check out more about Friday the 13th here and, for Supernatural fans, you may need to wait until March for a new episode, but there’s a big spoiler about a third brother being cast on the show!! Read more
