Pre-Order DVDs with Gilmore Girls Stars

June 2, 2009 by Arieanna

You can now pre-order the DVDs for Heroes - Season Three (starring Milo Vengimialia) & Supernatural: The Complete Fourth Season (starring Jared Padalecki). I personally enjoyed both series’ this past season, though Supernatural was fantastic beyond compare. Heroes made a bit of a comeback, so I look forward to where next season will go!

In addition, you can pre-order Samantha Who?: The Complete Second Season (starring Melissa McCarthy), which (unless the petition is successful) is the last season of the show. The DVD will *probably* contain the un-aired final episodes. Cancelled early in 2008 and also available on DVD are My Own Worst Enemy: The Complete Series (starring Mädchen Amick) and Trust Me (starring Vanessa Marano). And for those David Sutcliffe fans, don’t forget Private Practice: The Complete Second Season .

Gilmore Girls stars made SO many guest appearances on tv in the past year that I can’t name all the DVDs. But you’re sure to find the talented cast appearing in lots of your favorite shows!

Milo Ventimiglia in “Order of Chaos”

May 10, 2009 by Arieanna

Milo Ventimiglia (Jess Mariano on Gilmore Girls) has quite a few movies coming up! Aside from the recent new preview of Armored, Milo also stars in the movie, Order of Chaos.

The film is about the contrast between two characters. First is, John Pulliti (Rhys Coiro), an “all American apple pie” who is an honest, successful man nearing his 30s who quietly takes abuse from his overbearing fiancé and his “ball-busting” boss. The second character is Rick Carlson (Milo Ventimiglia), a “no” man, unlike John. He’s smooth talking and coercive.

When Rick moves into John’s building and working at the same law firm, John’s life is turned over and he faces yet another block in the way of becoming partner at the firm. John becomes obsessed with trying to figure out the truth behind all these people who want to ruin his life:

“Driven by his delusions, John starts to become what he hates, and learns that in a world of no absolutes, right and wrong is just a matter of perspective.”

Milo Ventimiglia Talks “Ultradome”

May 7, 2009 by Arieanna

Milo Ventimiglia (Jess Mariano on Gilmore Girls) has signed on to produce / direct select episodes of a new digital series, Ultradome.

Agility Studios has teamed up with DiVide Pictures, Milo Ventimiglia’s production company with Russ Cundiff, to create the short-format digital video series Ultradome. The new series is said to be a “tongue-in-cheek” look into the comic book, video game, action-adventure, fantasy and SciFi culture.

Each episode of Ultradome begins with two characters engaged in a heated and humorous pop culture debate, such as “Should I have a Lord of the Rings- or a Star Wars-themed wedding?,” or “Could Harry Potter beat Neo in a fight?” Reaching a fever-pitched stalemate, the characters find themselves transported to the Ultradome - a packed stadium where the two engage in single combat, using weaponry, gear and skills from the pop culture touchstones referenced in the argument.

Milo both produces and stars in the pilot episode, “Star Wars vs Lord of the Rings”, and will direct select future episodes of the series, each which lasts 3-5 minutes. Milo says his whole life is spent in debates such as “whether Kirk is tougher than Spock”, so Ultradome simply brings these debates to the public. The new series should launch this summer, after distribution is finalized.

“Heroes” Chapter 4 Comes to a Close

April 30, 2009 by Arieanna

Milo Ventimiglia (Jess Mariano on Gilmore Girls) has closed out yet another season on Heroes along with other Gilmore Girls guest stars Christine Rose and Masi Oka. The season had a slow start, but picked up into something more compelling (I think) once the mid-season shifted to Chapter 4: Fugitives. Christine Rose, in particular, really stunned me with the last few episodes. Her storyline, her childhood… they all helped us understand where she was coming from and that perhaps she was really trying to be a good person.

Granted, Season 1 had a “cool” appeal that the show can’t really re-attain, but I think Heroes has found its voice again. The series is back to the characters and to their complex motivations for wanting to be “good”, and how that plays out in complex ways. All of the actors have really taken their characters to the next level - Milo shows us that Peter has the strength to face up to his enemies, but also his family. Christine shows us the pain her character, Angela, has lived with her whole life. And Masi shows us that Hiro must face being a hero, true to his ideals, while it may end up costing him his life.

Heroes Volume 5: Redemption, will return next Fall. But until then, what did you think of the season? Is it ‘back’ for you? Or, like the folks at EW, are you still left wanting more?

Check out more Heroes photos…. Read more
