Lorelai doesn’t want to talk to Emily about Christopher, who had to return to Sherry after finding out she was pregnant. Rory comes back from her 6 week summer internship in Washington. She finds Jess making out with another girl and is very jealous.

Lorelai and Luke are both invited to speak at Stars Hollow High about their success in business. However, all the kids want to hear about is Lorelai being a teenage mom. The moms get mad at Lorelai. Lane wants to rebel, so dyes her hair purple. Freaks out, and dyes it back to black. Rory confronts Jess’ girlfriend, Shane.
3.05: Eight O’Clock at the Oasis

Lorelai has an annoying new neighbor, and he gives her detailed instructions on watering his lawn and violets while he goes on a trip. Emily organizes an auction. Lorelai meets a guy, but the date goes badly.

Rory and Lorelai are backed into going to Sherry’s baby shower. Lorelai is annoyed that Sherry wants to name her baby something similar to Rory. Rory and Lorelai use the deviled eggs to throw at Jess’ car.

Lorelai and Rory compete in the annual 24-hour dance marathon in Stars Hollow. Dean has had enough of Rory liking Jess and breaks up with her. Kirk wins out.

Richard, Emily, Lorelai and Rory all take a road trip to Yale - Richard has tricked Rory into having a meeting with someone he knows there. Rory and Jess begin dating. Kirk’s prize from the marathon goes missing.

Paris has a boyfriend and is acting very strange. Lorelai gives Emily tips on how to cope with the first Lorelai, Trix. Rory begins to ease up around Dean - she and Jess make out in public. Jess refuses to go to the Winter Carnival but goes when Dean asks Rory to go with him and little sister Clara.
3.11: I Solemnly Swear

Francie tricks Paris into thinking Rory is sabotaging her in the Student Council. Lorelai and Sookie go to a lecture on running an Inn, but it’s not very good. However, Sookie meets an old friend, Joe, and his friend, Alex. Alex and Lorelai hit it off. Emily is sued by an ex-servant. Lorelai is forced to give a deposition - Emily is not happy with what she says.
3.12: Lorelai Out of Water

Alex invites Lorelai fishing - Lorelai must learn how to fish from Luke. Paris takes the fued with Rory too far and the headmaster reprimands them both. Mrs. Kim tells Lane she can maybe go to prom - but picks her date for her.
3.13: Dear Emily and Richard

Rory receives an invitation to Sherry’s c-section. "Scheduled births". However, she goes into labor early and Rory is the only one who can make it there. Lorelai thinks back on her own pregnancy.
3.14: Swan Song

Jess makes a bad first impression on Richard & Emily when he comes to dinner with a black eye. Rory accuses him of fighting with Dean. Jess admits to Luke, later, that a swan did it. Rory stays the night at her grandparents. Lorelai is yelled at by Emily for letting Rory date Jess. Rory tells Lorelai she may get ‘physical’ with Jess.
3.15: Face-Off

Jess doesn’t call, so Rory goes to a hockey game and sees Dean with his new girlfriend, Lindsay. Emily sees Trix making out with a guy - and can hold it over her. Rory leaves an angry message for Jess then tries to get him to delete it without listening.
3.16: The Big One

Rory is accepted into all schools she applied to - Paris is not. Paris is rejected by Harvard. Has a meltdown on tv, though claims it’s because she slept with her boyfriend. Sookie is pregnant. Lorelai runs into Max.
3.17: A Tale of Poes and Fire

The Independence Inn catches on fire during a Poe Society meeting. Guests stay at Lorelai’s house. Lorelai stays with Luke & Jess. Rory must decide if Harvard is right for her, or instead go to Yale or Princeton.
3.18: Happy Birthday, Baby

Rory plans a huge birthday party for Lorelai including the ‘world’s largest’ pizza. Lorelai receives $75,000 from Richard. Which she uses to pay back Emily and end the Friday night agreement. And start a new feud.

Jess finds out he won’t graduate high school. Rory, Jess Dean and Lindsay all attend a party where Lane’s band is playing. Rory and Jess almost have sex, but Rory stops. He gets mad at her for coming into the room. She leaves crying and Dean sees. Dean and Jess fight.
3.20: Say Goodnight, Gracie

Jess meets his father. Dean and Lindsay get engaged. Fran dies - so Lorelai and Sookie can now buy the Dragonfly Inn. Rory tells Lorelai about almost having sex with Jess. Jess leaves town without telling Rory.
