Rob Estes (Jimmy on Gilmore Girls) has been a regular cast member of the new CW show 90210 this season. He stars in the series as Harry Wilson, the father of the family we are first introduced to as they move to Beverly Hills. Harry is the principal at the high school and has appeared in 20 episodes of the series so far.

The CW announced yesterday that it will be renewing several series that have Gilmore Girls stars! They announced the pickup of 6 series: Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, 90210, America’s Next Top Model, Smallville, and Supernatural.

For those curious, that means that Jared Padalekci (Dean Forester on Gilmore Girls) will get Supernatural Season 5, that Chad Michael Murray (Tristan Dugray on Gilmore Girls) will get One Tree Hill Season 7, and that Rob Estes (Jimmy on Gilmore Girls) will get 90210 Season 2. 90210 also boasts Gilmore Girls writer Rebecca Kirshner and Gilmore Girls producer Gayle Abrams.

Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, The CW, says that these six shows have “clearly contributed to strengthening our schedule and our brand identity” particularly as it’s related to being a destination for young women. Read more

As reported earlier, Gilmore Girls producer Rebecca Kirshner joined 90210 as executive producer. She’s been receiving a lot of early praise for her work, bringing out episodes that are “sharper and funnier”, and which are a “vast improvement” over previous scripts.

According to Ausiello, another Gilmore Girls producer is heading to 90210 too! Gayle Abrams recently joined the 90210 writers’ room - Gayle was co-exectuive producer on 22 episodes of Gilmore Girls. Together they’re sure to make the show a lot sharper than it currently is.

Wow, I never thought I’d get to write about 90210 so much here! But hey, that’s great. The latest Gilmore Girls alum to move over to 90210 is Tanc Sade, who has appeared in a single episode of the series. Tanc is better known to us Gilmore Girls fans as Finn, one of Logan’s crazy Yale & Life and Death Brigade buddies. He appeared in 14 episodes of Gilmore Girls.

As you know from previous posts, Rob Estes (Jimmy on Gilmore Girls) plays Harry Wilson, the dad and principal on 90210, and Gilmore Girls writer Rebecca Kirshner has joined the show as executive producer.

Tanc Sade appeared in the 6th episode of 90210, “Model Behavior“, which aired on September 30, 2008. In this episode, Anni attends a fashion show that her mom is photographing, and is then offered an audition (along with Adrianna) from a film producer there. Tanc’s character, Tom Moreno, is the fashion show producer and talent scout, (not to be confused with the film producer) and perhaps not someone to be trusted. He gets in a bit of trouble with Dixon.

Gilmore Girls writer Rebecca Kirshner has joined the CWs 90210 as executive producer. The news was tacked onto the announcement that 90210 would be picked up for the full season.

Rebecca Kirshner is the second Gilmore Girls alum to head over to 90210, after Rob Estes (Jimmy on Gilmore Girls). Rebecca will be running the writing room over at 90210, along with showrunners Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah. Rebecca was co-executive producer on 22 episodes of Gilmore Girls and is credited as writer on 10 episodes.

For those of you who watched the premiere episode of the new 90210, you may have recognized a familiar face: Rob Estes. Rob Estes plays Harry Wilson in 90210, but was Jess’ father Jimmy on Gilmore Girls.

In 90210, Rob Estes has a lead role as Harrison (Harry) Wilson, the father who takes his family from Kansas and moves to Beverly Hills. He’s the son of Tabitha Wilson and Kelly Taylor’s (Jennie Garth) old neighbor. He went to West Beverly Hills High and decides to accept a position there as the principal.

Harry Wilson being principal of West Beverly Hills High doesn’t really thrill his kids, Annie (Shenae Grimes) and Dixon (Tristan Wilds), who now attend the high school. And it’s a whole new lifestyle for the family.

Rob Estes has had other strong roles on shows including Melrose Place, CSI: Miami, and recently in Women’s Murder Club. He started out in the business as a stunt double. Since then, Rob has done a lot of acting on television and on stage.
