Jared Padalecki (Dean Forester on Gilmore Girls) was joined on the red carpet last night by his Gilmore Girls ex-wife Arielle Kebbel (Lindsay Lister then Forester on GG) for the premiere of his upcoming film Friday the 13th which opens this Friday.

Although the two didn’t stand together for photos, it was great to see that they’re still friends after the show! And speaking of Jared Padalecki and Gilmore Girls, I came across an interview with Jared in which he talks about his first experience of reading something about himself online, and it related to the show.

“When I started playing Dean on Gilmore Girls, I had long hair and then they cut it. That’s when I found out about how people talk about you on the Internet. I went online and someone was like, ‘Dean got his hair cut and he looks cute.’ The next person was like, ‘He looks like an idiot. It’s ugly.’ And I was like, ‘That’s kind of mean. Why would somebody say that?’ I just don’t think people should say hurtful things about you on the Internet. So I don’t go there much anymore.”

Last year, Jared Padalecki signed on to a trilogy of films based on the life of Thomas Kinkade. The first movie in that trilogy has now come out on DVD. Thomas Kinkade’s Christmas Cottage (First titled Christmas Cottage, then Home for Christmas), came out on November 11th.

Jared Padalecki co-stars with Peter O’Toole, Marcia Gay Harden, Aaron Ashmore and Richard Burgi in this film. Jared plays the title role of Thomas Kinkade, a young artist looking forwrd to an idyllic holiday in his hometown of Placerville, CA.

This small rustic town is struggling, the tourist industry failing and Tom’s mother is close to losing the family cottage due to foreclosure. Inspired by neighbor and mentor Glen (Peter O’Toole), a famous artist, Thom accepts a job to paint a mural of his hometown. With Glen’s help, Thom finds his true calling and helps the town discover the spirit of Christmas.

The film looks at the history that inspired the famous Kinkade painting of The Christmas Cottage.

Although Jared Padalecki did not pick up the Scream Award for Best Actor in a Horror Movie or TV series for his work on Supernatural this year, he was still nothing but proud on the red carpet of the awards. And with good reason - a special preview of his new movie Friday the 13th was shown at the awards!

Jared Padalecki tells shocktillyoudrop.com that he really beefed up for the Friday the 13th role. His character, Clay, takes on Jason (Derek Mears), who is a big guy. And he didn’t want to look tiny.

“I thought if I was an audience member watching the movie, the last thing I would want to see is some guy who’s tall and skinny fighting Jason. I wanted to at least look like I could take care of myself.”

I’d have to say Jared is looking mighty capable, wouldn’t you?
