Scott Patterson: An Update

May 28, 2009 by Arieanna

In our last trivia question, which was a little tricky, we asked: In how many episodes of Gilmore Girls, although credited, did Scott Patterson not appear?

  • 1 - 82 - 21% of all votes
  • 2 -  113 - 29% of all votes
  • 3 - 131 - 34% of all votes
  • 4 60 - 16% of all votes
    Total Votes: 386

The majority are indeed correct again! It was a close one, though! Sylvia, who made the question, says that Scott (Luke Danes) was credited but didn’t appear in these 3 episodes: “Rory’s Dance“, “The Hobbit, The Sofa and Digger Stiles“, and “I Get a Sidekick Out of You“.

I won’t be starting a new poll today, since we’re getting a brand new facelift on the site later today and will be doing polls differently after. So, until then, I wanted to share some updates from Scott Patterson that came out last month to let his fans know what he’s up to:

  1. A number of name actors are in the mix for Elements of a Pink Ribbon.
    Fund-raising continues.
  2. Two movies that I committed to have received funds from overseas and
those funds are in the process of being vetted by the Dept. of Homeland
Security. Once the funds are released, only then can production
    proceed. [These Movies]
  3. Wrote a comedy feature that is now at a major studio waiting to be
    read.
  4. Working on several screenplays (all genres). My favorite is an
action/adventure post apocalyptic vision of the future with a very
    reluctant protagonist.
  5. Working on a book of poems.
  6. Have left Evolution, along with my manager, Laina Cohn.

Great to see Scott so busy, though I really miss seeing him regularly on television!!

Scott Patterson in “The Rogue” and “Liberty”

January 5, 2009 by Arieanna

Scott Patterson has two new movies in the works!!

Scott is signed up alongside talented actors like Saw V’s Costas Mandylor, Death Race’s Max Ryan, and Terminator: Salvation’s Michael Ironside in the upcoming productions Liberty and The Rogue, both slated to be released in 2010.

The filmmakers tell GilmoreGirlsNews.com exclusively that Scott’s “presence and ‘right’ personality factored in heavily when the producers were casting these action/thriller films.”

Liberty is based on a story by Yasmin Naficy with Yasmin and Jake Andolina penning the screenplay. James A. Contner directs. Scott Patterson will play Wesley Jensen in the psychological thriller about a young woman with supernatural abilities who refuses to be recruited by the Government. As a result, she is hunted down by a group of federal agents. Check out the Liberty website for more.

In The Rogue, a war-based conspiracy thriller, Scott plays Agent Wyatt. The tagline of the film is “No one quits the Agency…”, which in this case refers to the CIA. In the movie, a CIA officer carries out a dangerous mission to locate Al Qaeda terrorists in Afghanistan but instead finds himself at the center of a deadly conspiracy. The Rogue is also based on a story and screenplay by Yasmin Naficy with Joe Tornatore in the co-screenplay role. Check out The Rogue website for more.

“Saw V” on DVD January 20th

December 26, 2008 by Arieanna

Scott Patterson’s movie, Saw V, comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray (including several Unrated Collector’s Editions) on January 20, 2009. All of the various covers feature Scott Patterson’s character Agent Strahm when he’s caught in one of Jigsaw’s traps. Given the plot in Saw V, it’s not likely that Scott Patterson will continue with his third film in the Saw franchise.

Check out the various Saw V DVD / Blu-Ray offerings here. And for Scott fans, don’t forget the photos from the two premiere screenings for Saw V here and here.

Scott & Keiko in “Elements of a Pink Ribbon”

November 17, 2008 by Arieanna

Scott Patterson (Luke on Gilmore Girls) and Keiko Agena (Lane on Gilmore Girls) will be working together again!

As announced on MySpace, Scott Patterson has joined the independent movie Elements of a Pink Ribbon as both actor and producer, with some of his original compositions also appearing in the film. This will be Scott’s first foray into producing a film.

Scott Patterson will be taking on the role of Bruce Schnable in the comedy. Keiko Agena will take on a supporting role as Ellie Dee. Also starring is Sheila Traister as Ronnie Schnable.

Here’s the synopsis of the film:

This is a contemporary comedic story of finding oneself under bizarre circumstances. 25-yr-old Leslie has always seen herself as a lesbian. Billy, a young man living in his van, has only had relationships with other guys. But the two of them discover a unique bond and develop romantic feelings for each other.

When Billy moves into Leslie’s house, which she shares with her alcoholic mother and two oddball, wannabe musician brothers, Leslie realizes that caring for her messed-up family has caused her to stagnate. She then sees that something has to change if she is ever going to have a real life.

Elements of a Pink Ribbon was written by Leslie Newquist and Shaun Snyder. Since this is an independent film, there is not yet an imdb page about it.

“Saw V” this Friday

October 21, 2008 by Arieanna

Scott Patterson comes back as Agent Straum for Saw V, (Rated R) in theaters on October 24, 2008. In the latest installment of the Saw V series, Hoffman believes himself to be the last person alive to carry on the Jigsaw legacy. But, when his secret is threatened, he must hunt out all the loose ends.

Scott Patterson, as Peter Straum (sometimes spelled Strahm), is a logical thinking detective and was instrumental in Saw IV in unraveling the Jigsaw mysteries. However, at the end of Saw IV, Agent Straum was left in a room with the corpses of Jigsaw, Amanda Young, Jeff and Lynn Denlon. At some point in Saw V, Straum will be placed in his own terrifying trap (seen in photo #2 below).
