Adam Wylie on “The Secret Saturdays”

July 1, 2009 by Arieanna

Adam Wylie (Brad Langford on Gilmore Girls) recently lent his voice to the animated television series The Secret Saturdays, which airs on Cartoon Network. The series follows the adventures of a family of cryptozoologists, the Saturdays, who work to keep the truth about the cryptids (monsters) from getting out.

Adam Wylie appeared in the first episode of Season 2, The Underworld Bride, which aired on May 8, 2009. He was the voice of King Ulraj, a character he’d first lent his voice to in Season 1, when Ulraj was still just a prince of Kumari Kandam. In that episode, the Saturdays helped him reclaim his rightful spot on the throne, after his father was killed.

In the latest episode, King Ulraj travels with the Saturday family to New Guinea to investigate the Duah, a cryptid with a bad attitude. They learn that Duah plans to take Zon as his mate, then to eat her, and together try to save Zon from this fate. Ulraj, as a cryptid, has some powers but is only able to help save Zon if she truly wishes to be saved.

In this video from the episode, you can see Ulraj trying to train Zak Saturday:

Todd Lowe “True Blood” 2.02 Scene

June 23, 2009 by Arieanna

Todd Lowe (Zack Van Gerbig on Gilmore Girls) is now a regular cast member on Season 2 of HBO’s breakout vampire hit, True Blood. In the second episode of True Blood, which aired on Sunday, Todd’s character, Terry Bellefleur, had a great scene in the kitchen. Terry is a bit of an oddball character, scarred from his time in the war, and in this scene he was feeling overwhelmed:

Todd does a great job in the role, I’m so glad they decided to make Terry younger in the HBO series than in the books!

Lauren Graham to be on “Scrubs”?

June 22, 2009 by Arieanna

Scrubs has undergone a lot of changes! After NBC dropped the series, it appeared on ABC for its eighth season. The series is set to return for Season 9, but without headliners Zach Braff & Sarah Chalke as regulars (only as guest stars). Lauren Graham Tony AwardsThe series is currently attempting to transition to a new format, and word has it they’re trying to land a big star. Perhaps Lauren Graham!!

The new Scrubs would potentially shift from the hospital to the classroom, with Cox (John C. McGinley) and Turk (Donald Faison) as professors in the school. Aside from new medical students, ABC is recommending the show hire a big name, someone recognizable. It’s reported:

Sources close to the series tell me Gilmore Girls‘ Lauren Graham is currently at the top of their wish list.

Likely this Season 9 of Scrubs will appear under a new name, though possibly related to the name in some way.

What do you think - would you like Lauren Graham on this new Scrubs??

“Samantha Who?” To Air Remaining Episodes

June 11, 2009 by Arieanna

Samantha Who? (starring Gilmore Girls’ Melissa McCarthy) was recently cancelled by ABC, the network choosing not to renew the series for its third season due to lack of open timeslots and promotional dollars. There’s a campaign to save the series, but so far the decision stands.

Meanwhile, many of us Samantha Who? fans have wanted to know about the unaired Season 2 episodes. It looks like ABC has plans to air some of them now!!

“Supernatural” May See Season 6

June 4, 2009 by Arieanna

SupernaturalFans of Jared Padalecki & of Supernatural will be thrilled to know that the series will likely see not only a 5th season, but a 6th!

Supernatural saw a resurgence of success with its 4th season. The creator of the show, Erik Kripke, had always wanted the series to end after 5 seasons, however. That would let it go out on a high note. Of course, fans hate that idea! However, at a European convention, Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles revealed that they will be returning for a 6th season. Both stars are signed on for a 6th season, so if the network gives the series a green light, they’re in for it. Whether Erik Kripke, who only has a 5-year contract with the network, will continue… that’s another thing! Check out more commentary on this news here and here.

And don’t forget to pre-order your copy of the Supernatural: The Complete Fourth Season DVD.
